We stayed the weekend of Feb 3rd. Our room was clean but pretty small. If you have kids you will need to keep them from the mini-bar as you will be charged for removing any of the condiments (candies, bottled water, etc.) that are setting on top (it has electronic sensors).
During our two-night stay there was only one elevator (of four) working, and the lobby was closed for renovation. The staff even had to use this same elevator.
Still, it was a nice place- about what you would expect in a city location. I would give it four stars if all four elevators were working.

Nothing wrong here at all. Nice hotel with everything as expected. Super nice and patient staff (I had an issue that was a problem because of my company and they were very helpful in dealing with it). Small elevators, but their speed made up for it and I never waited more than a few seconds.

Overall, a very solid hotel. Love the complimentary shoe shine service and the beds are super soft. Unfortunately, my room was placed right next to the elevators so it was a bit noisy during high traffic times. Also, the Wi-Fi was basically useless. Didn't matter too much for my visit but could really affect someone who needed it.

Pros-Beautifully structured hotel with a peaceful and warm setting. This is a perfect location with easy access to so many great restaurants, shopping locations and plenty of places to go sightseeing ... the White House is only about a 10 minute walk away and the National Museum of African American History and Culture is roughly a 20 minute walk away... I even liked the Christmas trees and decorations. There was also easy access to newspapers for all guest. Room service, house keeping, and the doormen were all great, very friendly/welcoming and timely as well. The room in itself was very cozy and clean - I liked the decor and little washington touches here and there. I usually never use the soaps/lotions etc but I tried the Skoah products they had available and I really loved it. They smelled great and were lightweight on my skin. I also liked the cozy slippers and robe left for guest. I overall truly enjoyed myself here! Not to mention the price is VERY reasonable!
Cons- The initial receptionist that was there upon my arrival (I think her name was Amanda) was unpleasant to say the least. There were some pieces in the room that showed some visible signs of damage and the carpets were stained. Try not to get a room next to the elevators as guest tend to be very noisy when getting on/off.

Rooms were nice but small, the rooms we had seemed like they were forced to make a double. Staff was nice. Our reservation for a certain type of suite got mixed up reserving off a website, which we couldn't fix. That was the only downside. Great for a one night/ overnight/ weekend stay.

A great hotel with a friendly staff, and right in the middle of everything. When the Starbucks reopens it will be even more user-friendly. In the meantime, there's a little coffee and croissant booth in the lobby, open weekend mornings. My only concern was the hot water level, which seems tepid at certain times.

Paid about 500 dollars a night during a Congress. Small rooms with run down decoration, no restaurant to have breakfast (other than small Starbucks cafe). 11 am check out with no flexibility, and they did not even allow that we leave our luggage (as apparently there is no sufficient storage place). No umbrellas when it rains . Front desk is not friendly and they had to do three transactions to my card (as they could not calculate the right amount before the third attempt). Stay away from here !!

Good Evening,

Good Evening,

I attempted to make reservations tonight as I was turned off by the front desk staff. I am disappointed in how the interacting went. The young lady was very dismissive and unapologetic. I did not get the impression that this hotel is a place of hospitality.

The young lady who answered the phone seemed to have been preoccupied giggles and muting the phone in attempts to greet me. Once she greeted me I shared with her I am interested in room vacancies for the upcoming weekend. The phone clicked and I was being transfered to what I assume to be who could assist me in making a reservation.

I immediately hung up and called back to reinitiaye a conversation with the front desk staff of the hotel. When the young lady answered again, I shared with her that I was not interested in being transferred, I wanted to speak to someone at the hotel directly. Her response was well ma am, I am not able to check your vacancy here. I said thank you for sharing your actions before making them. I was cut off by another transferred call to what I assume to be to make another transfer to reservations.

Upon arrival, the men at the door were very helpful and friendly. The check-in staff at the desk were very polite and made checking in very easy. While the elevators are very small, there was not a long wait for them to arrive. The room was beautiful, television stations were clear and plentiful. The soaps and shampoos in the washroom were very nice. The 14K restauarant was lovely for both a late dinner and an early breakfast. I had the lamb t-bone and the short rib hash and both were very good. The dinner server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had great recommendations. The location was amazing that we were a short walk from great restaurants, shopping and even Capitol One Arena. The cherry in top of the entire stay was one gentleman working in the lobby. We noticed all of the staff wearing Hamilton silhouette pins and mentioned that our daughter adores the Hamilton musical. We asked him if the hotel sold those pins or any other Hamilton themed merchandise. He quickly popped the pin off his jacket, and told us he hoped our daughter would enjoy it. He wouldnt take any money for it. Even though it was a small gesture, it really made us feel that the staff cared for its guests. I would definately stay at the Hamikton again if visiting Washington DC. Big thanks to the entire staff that made our stay a fantastic one.

The hotel lived up to its website image - absolutely gorgeous! We were very impressed with our spacious room with two heavenly double beds & space to spare. Amazing bathroom too - will miss the shower... Staff so, so friendly and helpful. Great location to explore the Mall with great variety of delicious food options to suit various budgets. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel, right in the middle of downtown Washington DC, the staff was very professional and friendly, the only thing is that, and I understand we are under a pandemic, the restaurant inside was totally closed, I thought that they could at least provide some room service, instead of closing totally since around there everything was closed as well, but that's just my opinion . For the rest I would go back there

The service was great. The rooms are very nice and clean.there are currently undergoing renovations right now on their lobby but they try their best to accommodate you and make your stay better. The bar downstairs is a great spot with decent happy hour specials.

Awful hotel. They are trying to make a renovation with the hotel open and it is only generating a headache. Half hour queues to go up or down to the floors, as only one elevator is working. And they still give preference to raise luggage, making those who were already in the queue have to wait even longer. A total lack of respect. The room service also freckles and lots of it. It's already the third day that I ask for a simple slipper / slipper because the bathroom floor is cold and I still can not get one. Still, the lobby is under renovation, and with that they made a "living room" very fajuto to try to compensate. It was almost a maze.
I read great recommendations of this place, but really I am quite disappointed with the Hotel. I would not recommend to visit at least until the works are finished.

This is a very low service hotel. I stayed for one night and it was disappointing. Just a basic lack of attention to customer experience. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The egg breakfast consisted of a tortilla wrapped egg - that s it - no sides, etc. There is no coffee service from room service. It was impossible to get a bill emailed afterwards after multiple calls. Major fail.

Great hotel for the price, beautifully appointed and ideally located. The Hamilton Hotel has a very welcoming lobby with a pleasant lounge area and friendly staff. It was very well decorated with prints and blueprint style artwork throughout the lobby, and guest areas. Immaculately clean and well maintained. Our bedroom was on the 12th floor and was lovely. Genuinely one of the nicest hotels my wife and I have probably ever stayed in. They will hold your baggage after check out too if you d like to explore the city before heading home and on that note it s a 5-10 minute Uber ride from almost anywhere around the mall that you would want to visit. Admittedly we stayed during Christmas and so traffic was very light but still. All round we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in such a nice hotel at such an excellent price, would definitely stay again.

The room and service has been excellent. We would return to this hotel again in the future. The location of the hotel is incredible. Close to many delicious food spots, close to the white house and national mall. Within walking distance of everything. We would return to this hotel on another visit.

Lovely place. Close to the white house. Good restaurants in walking distance. Didn't have time to check out the gym. To busy sightseeing. I was upgraded to the 12th floor. So I guess my room was special.

We ( party of 8 ) had brunch at their restaurant and although the service was a bit off this day the food was great. The huevos rancheros was awesome as was the Hamilton burger.

They did however mess up and bring my sister the wrong salad (how do you mess up a salad this bad) and took way too long to get the meal to us.

However, the manager did come over apologized and got us free deserts!

Thank you for ending this on a good note!

This photo that I have uploaded is the line to check in. I waited in line for about 15 mins which wasn t terrible. All of the people sitting are waiting for their rooms to be cleaned and they had checked in before me. Although the hotel said check in was at 4 pm, after I had waited in line, they told me that my check in would be closer to 5 pm. 4:15+40 mins of cleaning = 4:55. We were supposed to have time to change and get ready for a wedding that evening. Their explanation was that the hotel was busy and the housekeeping/custodial staff was In the process of cleaning the rooms as we spoke. I will not be staying here ever again. I will take my business to the Marriott, the Hilton, or The W. This is poor planning, poor management, and mediocre customer service at best. Although the front desk staff members are only the messengers, they couldn t offer us anything in terms of a discount or any other redeeming service. If you wonder why Air BnB in other cities is so successful, this is a glaring example of a hotel that cannot fulfill their promises.

We would not recommend this hotel. It's in need of an update. There were days our room was not cleaned until after 4:00. One time we were in the room. We told them they didn't need to make the bed. They cleaned the bathroom and asked if there was anything else. We asked them to please take care of the coffee, there is a small Kuerig in the room. The person left us new coffee pods and creamer. She did not leave us cups. They leave paper cups for coffee. All in all our stay there was not a good one.

Pros: Great location, clean, upscale, friendly staff, great service, secure, very comfortable room.

Cons: Poor food selection. Small menu. I hope you like new age food such as flatbread with cheese. Lettuce with oil/vinegar. If you are looking for ham and cheese sandwich you won't find it here. Portion sizes are small and the cost is expensive. Couldn't get a non-sweetened glass of iced tea. I told them to put me in the kitchen. The menu would change in a hurry. How about some grilled salmon, seasoned steamed rice, green veggie salad with creamy bleu cheese dressing and some sour dough bread with real butter? Or a ham a swiss cheese sandwich on a sour dough or French roll with mayo, lettuce, tomato and red onion?

Watch out for unexpected charges like the $50 room accommodation fee. What the heck is that?

Nice hotel for the price and location. I would recommend this place to anyone. You could get there from Reagan Airport using Blue Line going in the direction of Largo Town Center. Get off at Mcpherson Sq Metro station. The hotel is literally 2 blocks. Plenty of places to eat right outside the hotel.

Hotel staff were nice and the room is clean. The room amenities include Keurig coffee, refrigerator among others.
