Friendly staff overall rooms had been clean. Food ...
Friendly staff overall rooms had been clean. Food was decent but it s in a great area overall

I didn't check the ratings prior to showing up.
The hotel lobby is under construction, so you have to go into a side alley, up a sketchy staircase and then into the area they have for you to check in.
Staff was at best lukewarm. When asked what the facilities fee was for (as there were clearly no facilities to be had) they were cold and unhelpful.
Room small, but the beds were decent.
Would not recommend.
Clean and professional atmosphere. Local neighbourhood in a friendly part of D.C.
Great place to stop in and get drinks. Food is delicious as well.
Small but nicely furnished room. Could have been cleaner. DC is very noisy at night (lots of sirens) so bring ear plugs.
Very nice rooms! Cable isnt working too well in the rooms however.
The Hamilton is a lovely hotel. Beautiful, with updated old-style charm. The staff were friendly and efficient. The bar (at which they have a great happy hour) has a unique design which I really enjoyed. The only hiccup is one they share with most hotels nowadays. Key card systems can be really glitchy, but the front desk took care of replacing the card with a smile. King bed was very comfortable and I loved the pillows.
Once I saw the room, I didn t like it so I wanted a refund right away, but the bold black short looking guy who works on the reception is very incorporative. He just wanted to make some money since the hotel looks so slow no matter what; he was so not helpful in any way and employees like this guy doesn t give a good image for a big hotel like Hamilton. He need to retake the customer assessments again.
No complaints...clean, professional staff, great location. Food was delicious too. If you're catering anything, I highly recommend the sonic and crab dip. Sooooooooooooo good!
Perfectly located, allows the easy tourist visita to all the key places in Washington
I can't really review the hotel as a whole (I was there accidentally, which is another story entirely) but they have a nice, if small, bar. The staff there is very courteous.
Very nice hotel, ffesh and clean, helpful staff, great breakfast. The only downside was the scam 'resort fee'
Hard to recommend. Would have been nice to have know about the renovations before booking.
No reception area. No restaurant. No vending machines. Rooms are looking a little dated. 2 out of the 4 lifts aren't working. Noise from construction leaks into the rooms. Wifi drops out constantly. Tv was advertised as having a Chromecast, however it didn't work / no remote in the room to use it.
Good location.
The hotel is under construction, apparently until April 2019. The lobby and restaurant are closed. You need to enter the hotel through a back door and climb a flight of back stairs to enter it.
No soap or towels in the bathroom. The staff and concierge very helpful
Staff was incredibly friendly, the location couldn't be better. The rooms were beautiful and fairly priced.
Our room went without being cleaned for 2 days--Which caused trash and towels to pile up. Other than that a very nice hotel.
Great place to stay when visiting DC, old hotel feel with new amenities. Awesome service as well.
Had drinks at the bar. Friendly bartender, good drinks.
Located at a very convenient walk distance to several museums and restaurants. The only thing we didn't like was that the bathroom was not clean and not working correctly. Other than that the rest of the girl is really nice and clean.
Tried to rip me off with additional charges after paying in advance for my stay there.
very good! the breakfast is great! nice and kind people!
Well located near the metro, although the adjacent Franklin Park is riddled with homeless. Nice accommodations with dated interiors. On site restaurant is good and has breakfast, and the bar has happy hour specials. Cleaning by maids wasn't great, missed trash and didn't refill coffee, but nothing dramatic.
Excellent location and beautiful rooms, very friendly staff.
Beautiful hotel, great location next to everything, will recommend to others
Worst ever im here now in my room waiting for them to fix this tv that shut off but wont turn on 20 minutes later still no one. When i got here i had to wait 3 hours for my room even though it was reserved in October came and everything is just not was is supposed to be. Not 4 stars.
Very posh & chic. Its in the heart of DC and close to all the famous sites
Worth it for the location if you could get a good rate. The park across the street has a homeless problem and not a place to hang. There is a good restaurant and very small bar on premises. They oughta put in a rooftop lounge. Beware, the minibar in the room has a sensor that if you lift up a bottle you will be billed. The staff was okay, not the friendliest but certainly not rude.
After our wedding we stayed here for a night before heading to our honeymoon in NYC. It was only one night but they made it count! The staff was awesome and their gifts were unexpected and made our amazing day even better!
The hotel staff were very nice, it was very clean, in a good location and the water pressure in the shower was great. Valet was the only parking they had for $59/night. The mini bar took up the whole mini fridge so I couldn't put my personal drinks or leftover food in it. The last night the water was only warm and by the morning it was cold. And there was no microwave.
Ok..Very quaint, but my room was small and dark. Fridge had to be changed because it didn't work. No pool, which I should have checked in advance. Fitness room was good. Lobby was small.
Great location for all the sights, good views from upper storey windows and rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Staff are friendly and courteous and there's an on-site Starbucks as well as a good bar serving a range of drinks.
Hotel is great and beautiful and its location is very special
Very nice, friendly staff. Clean rooms, kinda small but I could deal with it for one night. Quiet room too which was exactly what I needed. Great location too.
A little older. Event felt cramped but all staff encountered were courteous and knowledgeable. Restaurant smelled sour and floor was sticky.
nice placed hotel, comfy bed, friendly staff, starbucks within the building yay.....
Nice place, but check your bill, they add an unadvertised resort fee. Didn t realize I was staying in a resort?
Exquisite location. Pleasant staff. Suitable hotel environment for families. Clean and comfortable room with great view of the city.
Excellent location! A few blocks from the White House!
Breakfast is too expensive. Otherwise, everything else is fine.
good hotel. nice lobby. and good gathering spaces. has a Starbucks too. however no breakfast.
Good hotel. The staff was incredibly kind and the room was good. Most everything worked well, with the exception of the hair dryer. Parking is very difficult. They offer valet, but valet Services are $50 plus per night.
Clean and beautiful room. Starbucks is accessible from both the lobby and 14th street, I think. It could be 'K' street. People of all ages were checking in on a Tuesday evening. Very friendly staff. Parking garage is found under the Washington Post building - 3/4 block walk. $28 is the charge for 24 hours.
Delightful staff very proficient and professional they go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction. They were extraordinary with their wake up calls at my request they came to my room and knocked so my service dog would awaken me as I have a hearing disability and would not have heard the phone ring!
There were a lot of pending temporary charges after we left
Great room with a nice bathroom, including big towels and bathrobe. The shampoo in the shower was really good! Great location close to metro and the National Mall. Received Champagne upon checkin. Would have stayed there again!
It's a good hotel with a good location and a good price.. Especially if you book early.. I love the option to pay in cash at the hotel..
I booked the hotel a few days ago. Just hours before just arrival they cancelled my reservation with no reason given or notice. When I went inside, I tried to check in, then I spoke with a manager who then told me they tried to contact me multiple times about my cancellation. And when I asked why, they said the card was declined. How? They said they don't know and that since they haven't been able to contact me, they just cancelled my reservation. I didn't even get one email, nor one phone call. They couldn't prove they made any contact and chose not to help me book another reservation. NEVER coming back. 0 star service. Seriously disappointed
Very nice accommodations, must read all notes before picking anything up in the rooms, lol.
So far, so good. Junior King Suite is quite spacious. Very clean.
Okay hotel. Forgot my wallet in my room & the cleaning lady had already been in the room & somehow my wallet ended up under a pillow ...
Great location (within walking distance of all interesting places). Service level.
Solid hotel in a solid location. Comfortable beds and a very accommodating staff. I needed a wine opener and the staff member gave me one from the bar, to keep.
Great location in downtown DC. Rooms are smaller but that's to be expected in a big city hotel. The lobby is under renovation so the restaurant and bar are currently closed. It's pet friendly (we brought our 2 dogs) which is great. The staff have been courteous and polite, would highly recommend
Nice location. Good service and quite affordable room rate. Internet speed is quite OK.
Beautiful hotel. Functional. Beaux Arts architecture. Very good quality Lounge and Restaurant.
Some King rooms are small, the two doubles are a good size. The staff is very helpful
I ve never written a review before this one. Im compelled to write because this was, by far, the least welcoming and most inconvenient hotel experience I ve ever had. Here s why:
Construction- The lobby is under renovation which means you can t even fit inside the hotel to wait in line to check in.
Elevators- It took me 15 minutes to get an elevator down from my room. I will not recommend this hotel to others if you want a convenient or relaxing experience. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the bed was comfy.
I wish I could get my money back.
It was nice, staff was nice. Only complaint is small elevators that were very slow. Waited for an elevator for almost 20 mins one night.
Just O.K, nothing particularly good or bad. Mattresses very hard, I couldn't sleep on them, but this may be a positive feature as far as you're concerned. One more thing, and this may be the going rate in DC, but it grates me to pay for the hotel, and then pay $45, to park in their garage.
Clean, neat, clean, good location, good siren sound
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBully. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!
My family enjoyed this hotel very much. Felt safe, rooms were quite, and the the staff was really nice. Great having a nice bar with happy hour downstairs and a Starbucks attached. Would highly recommend. Beds were comfy and I liked the robes that were provided.
The rooms are well appointed and nice, and the location is great.
A lot of problems with the elevators, huge rows will be produced to go up to the rooms
Newly renovated. Nice rooms great service. Clean and comfortable.
This is a really nice hotel. All the people that work there are extremely nice. Parking is ridiculous and so are the bar prices. Other than that you will love it!
Room was slightly smaller than expected but well decorated and furnished
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit HotelBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!
A magnificent hotel especially right in downtown DC. Very nice staff and conveniently located near the White House and all of the downtown attractions. Highly recommended
Good hotel, very close to all tourist attractions in the city
Front desk customer service level could use a great deal of improvement.
Clean rooms. Comfy bed. Friendly bartenders in the lobby bar.
A beautiful hotel with an incredibly attentive staff in the heart of DC. The restaurant and bar were fabulous!
Great staff. Accommodations were good.. Very good location...
Cold concierge, but above all the room is totally not soundproofed, on the weekend you can hear the music as if it came from the next room. Counterbalance definitely have the Starbucks downstairs with access from inside and great location, ten minutes from the White House. The room is very well furnished and nothing is missing. Too bad because I would have given more.
Booked the room through priceline. When I booked the room it said it was for a King size bed and included breakfast for 2 people. We got the confirmation just a couple of days before we were to arrive and the email listed room as "extra large double bed" , no breakfast included. We called priceline who said we needed to call booking dot com. Neither place helped us. We contacted the hotel and they said the breakfast was not included, we could not get a refund and assured us the room included a King size bed. We arrived January 6, 2018 and the room was a small double bed. We had to wait to be transferred to another room - 14th floor right across from the elevator. Every time people got off the elevator we could hear them (especially the happy partiers) Housekeeping never came when we were out all day Saturday. We had to call and request them and gave them the time frame to come. The lady came and kept trying to bust through the door at the wrong time. Housekeeping came once on Sunday. The room was small, outdated and bathroom was dirty. The bed and pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable!!! That was the only positive thing about the room. It was either freezing or too hot. We had dinner at the 14K Restaurant Saturday evening and the food was amazing as well as the staff. We went back to the bar Sunday evening and the bartender was possibly having a bad day. Not friendly at all. We came to D.C. for my 50th birthday and were not pleased with the lack of cooperation from the staff at the front desk to ensure I had a good stay. It's a shame because the Valets and the porters went above and beyond every single time we needed them. They are a great asset to the hotel and so friendly. They were out working in the freezing weather too! Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would not stay here again.
I did not stay here, but my daughter did. She left behind some of her belongings in the closet and didn't notice until 2 weeks later. Upon calling I spoke with a William, Manager over the lost and found. I honestly did not think we would get our items back, but was wonderfully surprised when he told me that he had them. WOW! So very impressed with the honesty of this hotel!! William was super nice, and very willing to help me. So professional !! I hope that he is rewarded for being great at his job.
To, William should he ever read this~~ We here in Louisiana think your AWESOME and we give you 10********** 's :))
Spacious and very comfortable room. Good location. But the television remote didn't work and I called the reception staff twice and they didn't send anyone to solve the problem.
I'll be honest...I saw some negative reviews a few days before I arrived and was nervous. But after six nights in this hotel, I can tell you that I wouldn't hesitate to return. Complaints? Okay, there was a slightly drippy faucet in the tub, the lobby smelled *too* clean (like it had always been freshly mopped), and...I guess the in-room clock was a few minutes fast. But the room was impeccably tidied up every day, the TV had a built-in Chromecast so I could stream my own music and video from my phone (so I rarely heard that drip), and the staff were very friendly and service-oriented. The location was ideal for access to the convention center, Metro, restaurants, and more. Cost-wise, I can't say, since my reservation was done for a special event and it was a business expense, but I was comfortable and felt at home, so that made it worthwhile.
