Great atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious food

They changed my reservation for my 40th birthday party. Put me beside the front door in a blizzard, then reboxed my birthday cake in a "meat box" I'm a vegetarian

We received a gift certificate that we finally used . They have a carvers platter offering on Sunday nights for 2 at $45.00 and for 4 at $90.00. Better bring your appetite for this one. Great place to take someone in your family or friend circle that also likes the keg , moxies, and BP. Not my ideal dinner spot, but good for a drink and some pool. Not serious pool. The tables are not the most level. A good time can be had here, usually a social group of people patrons and staff. If you use the term eye candy (I m sure you don t, who does that.!) this place is for you

Fantastic food! Steak and Prime Rib cooked to perfection.

This is supposed to be a reputable establishment in Kingston. The grizzly has been part of the hub of kingston for as long as I can remember. I have had a passable breakfast buffet here, but tonight's dinner deserved a serious reprimand...

I was always told that the Grizzly was a more upscale place and the menu prices attested to this, however, execution and promptness of service did not match the price tag. We waited well over an hour for our orders, and when we got our food it was either undercooked, or completely overcooked (thanks for killing my bison burger; like dead, dry, charcoal brick).

I have eaten all over this wonderful city and I would hands down recommend the keg over the grizzly. Better prompt service an they won't kill your meat. Sorry Grizzly, but you failed, you won't get a second chance.

We had our daughter's grad dinner here and I am very disappointed with the service and food. It was not busy and my husband's prime rib looked like it was the previous days and boiled. He left it on the plate and our server couldn't look at us in our eyes and just asked if he wanted a take out container! We travel a lot and dine out often, I have never seen a server react like that. *we were the 4:30pm seating on the 6th of Jun.

My dinner was extremely salty but I chalked it up to the fact I don't use salt and a bad start of the kitchen staff.

20 years we have been going and because of the lack of respect from our server and the kitchen cutting corners, never again.

We ordered takeout for our anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful prime rib, garlic mash, sautee veg Yum! Please everyone order here during Covid.

Would prefer ice water and a little pricey for what you got. But Staff are alot of fun.

Awesome food awesome service and clean eating environment. Food plated nicely and an enjoyable portion size. Didn't utilize the lavatory ... I usually squirt before i go out.

Great atmosphere and with pool tables upstairs and a dance floor downstairs, this is a good place early or late in the evening. Service at the bar is very inefficient and slow however.

My husband and I came here for Sunday brunch. The experience was less than satisfactory.

First of all, we stood by the reception table for a good five minutes waiting for the waitress. It wasn t until other guests came in that the chef told us to just sit wherever we wanted to.

My husband ordered the hungry man s breakfast with daily soup and I ordered the mushroom frittata with home fries. Our ordered arrived 30+ minutes after ordering. Fine, because we weren t hungry at all.

Hungry man s breakfast contained steak (see photo) - 50%+ fat in the steak. Daily soup was obviously overnight chicken noodle soup with vinegar spilled into it. What was left of the steak was very good, cooked to the perfect tenderness.

Mushroom frittata - the menu said there was goat cheese in the frittata but I swear I couldn t taste it. The frittata was incredibly dry and unseasoned. The home fries were very good though, I give them that.

In all fairness this is a steak house. However, if you re not going to serve good brunch, maybe you shouldn t offer a brunch menu.

Great food and vibe. Great place to hang out or party, depending on your mood.

The food is quite good and the service is professional and friendly. The prices are very high and our meals took nearly an hour to arrive - there were only 2 tables of customers in the entire place. Also, the other table had several very loud children and they seated us right beside them... convenient for the servers but not pleasant for us.

Easter Buffet was average. The food is normally very good. Average bar scene bar at night.

I've been to the Grizz many times, though not frequently. This time I was unimpressed. There is a new menu, on which few options looked exciting. More importantly though, two people in my group ordered steak and we weren't asked how well cooked we wanted it, and we both had to send it back.

A perfect spot for a drink and a game of pool. First night really doing a bar crawl and the bartender was kind, sweet and very helpful.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here and had the most brilliant meal. The prime rib is freaking amazing!

I'd give them 0 if I could, server was unbelievably rude.

Fabulous Prime Rib. Get the brussel sprouts instead of seasonal vegetables... They're to die for.

Had a rude employee who wasn't working push me aside at the bar rudely and tell me he works their. I told him i am a customer and he stated he was the same. Paid my bill the same as anyone else. What makes employees any better than patrons?

We waited one hour and 20 minutes and no food had yet to arrive. We were a party of five with reservations. We chose to leave very upset. The only bright star I could give was for our server, Laura who was clearly upset but was at a loss to do more. No managerial staff approached our table but Laura responded in a professional manner and chose to waive the cost of our drinks as we cooled our heels waiting for food that never came. Never have I had this experience in a Kingston restaurant.

Was good food. Some bones in the pickerel but great combination. Like the place inside, very nice wood and atmosphere

This is a nice restaurant close to the student neighbourhood in Kingston. Th Grizzly carvings are very cool and it is nice and airy. The food was very good. I especially recommend the chicken avocado club. It's not the cheapest but I believe you get value for money.

Reservation at 7:00pm for our large group was made two months in advance. By 10:00pm only half the group had their meals. Absolutely no communication from wait staff who took orders then and disappeared. Afterwards we had to ask the manager for a discount as they thought an apology would be enough. Discount that was given was minimal. Teenagers went outside for a bit while we waited and weren t allowed back in because apparently the place turns into a bar at 10pm and they weren t old enough (even though all the parents were inside waiting for our bills which we also had to ask for twice and waited even longer to receive). All of this only to find out that had I gone by myself and ordered off the regular menu my meal would only have cost $17 but since I was with a group that was given a very small special menu it cost $25??! Do NOT recommend!!

This was a recommendation from a friend. Our visit didn't go without hickups tho, but honestly the staff were great at making things right and the manager was on the ball to keep the satisfaction level up.

Essentially bread served initially was rock solid, but was replaced when the staff noticed. There was never and cutlery provided during the course of the meal, but we made due as I had ribs and my family member had a burger.

Table wasn't wiped down when we were seated outside, but was ok cause the table next to us had a wet cloth, only took a couple seconds to do ourselves and was a great wet nap at the end of the meal for my sauced covered fingers.

The manager had to come out and apologise a few times one of the times was cause they had run out of a soup we had ordered. Not a big deal as the other soup on the menu was really good. As a courtesy for the above the manager also comped a dessert which we shared (yum cheesecake) and the waiter made sure to keep our glasses full of beer and water. So ultimately was a good meal considering the little service bumps.

Friendly staff, good service, great food. Recommend any of their steaks and prime rib, the wild B.C. halibut, and any of the desserts.

The food is absolutely amazing! I love how the ingredients are from local producers. The Hosts and Servers are wonderful, attentive and very friendly. Highly recommend either for Family, Celebrations, or Date night.

Food was very very good! but the waitress was literally trying to pick up customers at the table next to us yesterday when we went to eat supper. It couldn't have been more unprofessional, I know waiters and bartenders should act cute and flirty to make tips but I literally felt like i was at a bar next to some chick who was trying to get laid...... It was very bad..

The WORST take out experience EVER. We ordered dinner for 4 people. The bill came to $140.00. We chose a pasta and 3 of "The Rooster". The sandwich had undercooked cheap bacon and no sauce. Extremely dry and poor presentation. The meals were all suppose to come with sides and they did not give us any them, but they charged us full price. Not to mention there was a black hair in one of the sandwiches.

Customer service was horrible and rude when we called to ask about the missing food. We will NOT be going back. As I suggest you don't either.

Went there on a friend's birthday.
We were seated at a very unpleasantly located table. Near a waiter's station and a dance floor (or at least it seemed that way) , it was a huge round table and it was very loud and frankly quite hard to talk with the other people at the table.
And after being sited, we waited for 20 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order and give us some water. We didnt like it so much to be honest.

My wife ordered the main house dish as it seemed on the menu and got a Slightly warm prime rib slice with undercooked carrots and some potatoes. Which wasn't interesting or good in our opinion.
The ribs on the other hand were very good and i recommend them very much.

We went for a party on New Year's Eve. Was extremely mediocre and was relatively dirty and stinky. Staff didn't seem overly pleased to be there. Cannot comment on the food.

Awesome food. The only neg was the music was so load on patio and we had to ask around 5 times before we could hear each other without yelling.

Great tenderloin and delicious gluten free crust pizza. Recommended for all celiac.

The kitchen staff don't know the difference between well done steak and medium rear. The meat was overcooked and too salty. The fries were dry like they were sitting in the oil for too long. The French onion soups were too salty either. The buns on the steak sandwiches were charred. Unhealthy to eat. The only good thing was the salad and fried brie - even though it was very small.

The server was nice and the food arrived on time. But because of the food quality to price ratio I would never recommend the establishment.

We loved this place. I had the pasta with chorizo, she had the beet salad with pork bellies for an app. MMMMM the pork bellies were worth every penny. Would go there again if I ever make it back to Kingston. IT was quiet, long weekend I was told. But quiet was a good thing. Just what we wanted.

Good cozy date night spot. We had the BBQ meats platter for two, I would reccomend to any carnivore like me.

I'm actually very disappointed in the grizzly grill. The server never once came to the table and asked how it is, and it's a buffet style now, and everything is so hard and old, my cookie, and cinnamon bun as inedible. This place was once sooo good now it's embarrassing to even eat here

Tasty food, great service, superb atmosphere-it's a fun and relaxed place to spend a date night out!
Our server Alistair took great care of us during dinner where we enjoyed grilled calamari to start. My wife had the ravioli and I enjoyed the chicken & ribs. Both were delicious. The fun part was watching the kitchen cook our meals. After dinner we went upstairs and took a seat at the bar where Brooke greeted us with a friendly smile and attended to us. We didn't realize how big it was upstairs with the pool tables and ended up staying for a couple hours playing pool!

A great date night out!

Food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced considering the quality. Food arrived quickly and the service was great. Very cozy atmosphere; classy yet casual. Will definitely be going again and recommend others to give it a try, too!

The Grizzly Grill is a great place. The food is excellent, and so is the service.

A bit pricey but a nice place to have drinks and play pool.

New Years eve dinner was amazing. Service was great and ambience was fun. Great place for dinner and fun spot to party into the night.

Great food, student atmosphere, unusual but cozy location. Prices ok. Central location in Kingston. Easy to find thanks to the large grizzly head above the entrance, for fans of good steaks and garlic mushed potatoes

Although on the pricy side of things, this place is clean, welcoming and best of all the food is world-class!!

Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Had the Sunday prime rib 12 oz special. Meat was tender but a little past the requested medium-rare. Loved the maple pepper butter. I want to go back for the Turkey wings.

We've been going to the Grizzly Grill for more years than I care to admit and we are never disappointed.
The food and service has always been excellent.
It's my go to place for prime rib and it has to be the the 16oz Grizzly Cut!!!

Good quality food, and quite a lot of area for seating. Went several times for burgers and pub food, but the other dishes looked good as well.

AMAZING FOOD! kicking myself that I didn't get any pictures. Atmosphere is lovely...seating upstairs has a lovely view. We had pork belly for an appetizer and it literally melted on your mouth. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection...defindelty would go again.

The food was excellent, as was the service. I recommend it.

Super cute place, the food and service was amazing! Our table had spinach dip, beet fries, grizzly salad, prime rib, bbq chicken pizza, and a steak salad, all were delicious and I would happily order them all over again. They also have a really great selection of local and organic beer.. yummmmyyyyyyyy

Steak dinner ..stay later to dance or chill and play pool upstairs

We went for dinner tonight at the griz. Usually it has been pretty good but tonight was atrocious. We had ordered a salad for one of our members and a charcuterie platter for the other three. Our platter arrived relatively promptly, but the salad was about 10 minutes later, having been asked for 2 times from 2 separate servers.

We had ordered a bottle of wine and a soda for our driver. The sever never once asked if we needed another drink, and the wine was gone well before our main course. ( the Soda drinker had to ask more than once for a refill, there was no one checking on drink levels).

When our mains came, after a complaint from one of our table mates, it had been more than an hour since our apps had been served. It was explained at that time it was due to a large party having their order in before us. This would have been nice to know as it would have made the wait more tolerable. We had 4 meals. The pizza was hot and ready to go. The bison burger was overdone, having been requested to be medium rare and arrived dry well done. The 2 prime rib dinners. Medium rare: cold. Well done: served medium.

This all being said, and despite having had good service and food at other times, I doubt I will be returning.

Party of 7 people and we had 5 meals with mistakes. Forgotten appetizers and even a salmon entree was forgotten. Instead of making sure we received the forgotten meal they kept cooking everyone else s. It was more than 1 hour before we received the salmon after the complaint. Kitchen staff refused to talk to wait staff. Managers seemed use to the mistakes. Picture of the salmon entree.

Free pool and cheap fries / drinks on Monday nights are an offer that's tough to turn down. Add to that a bunch of grizzly bear statues and you've got yourself a great place.
