We booked a table for 12 people for two o'clock and two of our family wanted a Buffet lunch, but as it was the end of the school holidays it was very busy and the buffet was closed. But the very varied choices suited all of us and we didn't have to wait too long for the food, which as always from our experience was very good. As locals we will be back there again soon.

If you want good and delicious food this inn was the best choice in this island. Is beautiful historic building with nice atmosphere and prices are the best compared to others similiar places in the island.

Excellent value 3 course xmas meal with large portions, will book again for next year and visit in the new year, would have liked coffee and chocolate mint to finish but that is being picky!!

Out for a Sunday dinner burgers very dry and no taste. But the worst meal was the so called chicken chasseur there were 4 small squares of chicken swamped by loads of sauce and probably the equivalent of 2 small potatoes sliced to look more. I thought if described as CHICKEN chasseur that should be the main ingredient. Really gone down hill since changing hands.

Went to the Griffin Inn for Sunday lunch. The carvery was beautiful, with the largest Yorkshire pudding I have ever seen on a roast. My daughter had scampi and was disappointed with the coating, which seemed a little under cooked.

Although the carvery was good, there is no way I would go again at these prices.

Booked a table for a family meal, was only allocated an hour and a half, was going to order desert when we were told we had to vacate the table as they had another booking coming in. Very rude male member of staff, too.

I had this crazy idea to walk from Shanklin to Godshill and this pub was worth it!!! (it was one of those places I've been past 500 times but for one reason or another never got to go into!) Although not the cheapest place in the world if you have a family to pay for it is certainly worth the money: this pub is perfect for all ages with a playground for toddlers, football, bouncy castle... ...it is beautifully landscaped for adults to enjoy and has a fabulous Griffin shaped maze, lovely staff and fabulous food! I cannot recommend it highly enough! and will definitely be going back!

Fantastic home cooked food with loads of taste, in a warm friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff. So good we booked again for the next day on the spot. From what we've experienced on the Island..... you'll struggle to find better.
