The Green Dragon - and Hobbiton in general - is an amazing experience. Even if you're not a Tolkien fan, you can't fail to appreciate the work that has gone into creating this magical and immersive place.

Hobbiton has to be done as a tourist and LOTR fan but, objectively, it is overpriced and not great value for money. Tour guide wasn't great and rushed us around with hardly any time for pictures. Far too many tourists there at the same time to get an unspoilt view and a shame you can't go inside many of the Hobbit holes but don't regret going. Just wish it wasn't so expensive. Most of the day was taken up travelling by bus from Rotorua. Long journey.

A free drink at the Green Dragon is part of the tour of the Hobbiton movie set. You can buy some snacks and drinks as extra. My kids had a piece of pork pie each. I think the pub can be booked for private functions. The overall hobbiton experience was excellent.

The place is just as amazing as you might imagine. We were even more impressed with the entire staff however. Every staff person we encountered was bubbly and enthusiastic, and made us feel like our once-in-a-lifetime experience was also one of THEIR most exciting days too. They clearly love their jobs! We will never forget our time here. Thank you!

Seen the movie, got the tshirt, and now being here in person completes the geek out moment. Food was great but the beers were weak sauce, i think 1% alcohol? ! a real hobbit would be hobbity mad and tear out his ear hairs over the weak beer. The gift shop can be bigger too, just saying.

Try to find the Green Dragon, inside the bar, it Smaug or another? The warmth of the fire and cushy leather chair was a great spot to enjoy a mug of ale or cider. The drink was complimentary but the atmosphere was priceless for this Tolkien fan.

We got free drink as a part of the tour. Not sure how beer tasted but my ginger beer (non alcoholic) was amazing. Didn t have enough time to try anything else as our tour was but rushed; although it was very cozy inside, sitting next to fire place and experiencing hobbit atmosphere :)

What a wonderful place to share a toast with friends, perhaps discussing your last adventure, or even the next one. The charm and decor take you back to another time and place. I wish this was available to go to on a regular basis!

one of the most fun things I've done in a travel was to book the early hobbiton tour that included a second breakfast in the green dragon and with my family! It was abundant tasty and well done! If you are a person who loves Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and you do not do the early tour with a full breakfast you will be missing out in the experience. The tour of hobbiton is magical and even though it was raining it added a depth of color and Splendor to the whole thing. In hobbiton nothing can dampen the spirit.

It's an interesting and lovely place for a short break after the Hobbit tour, grab your ale and enjoy the rest of your time before leaving. The beers are brewed only in the Green Dragon Inn, you won't get them elsewhere.

This was an amazing experience! The food was wonderful. There are only 2 suggestions that I have:- Ramp up the heat before the guests arrive. I'm not sure if the front door was open most of the time, but I spent most of the night in my winterweight down jacket. I had taken it off when we sat down to eat, but after 20mins of getting cold, i put it back on. Secondly, the desert was very nice, but for those that don't have a sweet tooth, what about a cheese platter, showcasing the best of our cheeses?
