Went to the Festivus here. Apparently our food wasn t served (even after 55 minutes) because they couldn t find our number. Our number was placed on the table and was visible from the door. Luckily I got to speak to the manager and was offered a refund. I m sure the service is better on normal weekdays. But do give this place a try for the views if not for anything else. Plus you have Pancakes on the Rocks nearby for some delicious dessert.

I've been here a few times. The food is great and a good selection of beers. Some great views from the roof top. When I first came here in the 90s you could just stop by and pull up a chair on the rooftop for a beer and watch the city with a view.

Unfortunately the past several times I've randomly stopped here at different times of the day or night seating has been very hard to come by. Either wait and grab the next table that becomes available, sit on the footpath downstairs or book ahead. Thats my main reason behind the 3/5. You pretty much need to book a table. I'd say thats normally acceptable for a nice restaurant but just for a run of the mill hotel?

Great local spot at The Rocks with an awesome harbour view from the rooftop. Be aware of the flights of stairs to the top - take your time if you're not fit but it's well worth the effort. Lunch is lovely, but bar service on the day was a little slow - 3 of them standing around talking when we were the only two left at the bar waiting to order in our lunch break. They realised after not too long which was good. Prompt food service and very nice - try the fish and chips; at last a chef who doesn't present an unnecessary mound of chips, it was just right.
A drink after work at anytine is lovely too. Go whilst Vivid is on.

Opera House views from the top floor beer garden. The crowd is a good mix of young and old. Nice food. Multiple bars and levels. Parking can be a pain so best to find another mode of transport. Short walk from Circular Quay train station but it s up a steep hill.

Spectacular pub location and view of Sydney harbour from the rooftop bar. Unfortunately, I had the scotch fillet $32 and no chips unless you want to pay $7.50 more) and it left me regretting my order the moment it arrived. I asked for medium rare, it was medium and yet, it bled all over the plate. The mushrooms and broccolini were healthy but alas boring sides that altogether left me feeling a little underwhelmed.

This place is kind of an institution. Come here to admire the harbour views from the rooftop and the British heritage of Sydney. Beware: nothing posh, just an old school honest pub with some great views.

Very good pub food at reasonable prices.

Very good pub food at reasonable prices.
Good selection of g.f. and vegan dishes.
Superb views from the rooftop dining area.
Can get busy, so book a table for the best views.

Iconic old hotel turned into 3 levels of bars and restaurant. The rooftop is awesome and overlooks the harbour where you can see the bridge and the Opera House. If you want to get on the rooftop though plan on getting their early otherwise it gets busy. The lounge on the floor just under the rooftop is a great place to grab a cocktail and relax though, great views there as well.

Amazing views from up top. A great menu of food, wine and beers to indulge yourself on for the evening. Plenty of space on all the different levels. Gets busy given how popular the location is. Recommended.

Had a fantastic afternoon on the roof bistro with good food. Service was friendly and not too slow given the amount of people. It gets very crowded but you can generally find a seat. Fun place to go.

They say first impressions are lasting. My first impression was the lovely friendly staff. All staff I encountered fall under the 'nice & friendly' umbrella. The food is awesome!! Not a long wait at all, even though it was busy with the lunchtime crowd. I was lucky to grab a table in the roof top bar near the side so I could look over the harbour. Next time I visit Sydney I will definitely return!

A pub with an excellent rooftop and view of the harbour from one side. Good for a warm day. Rooftop is by far the best area, book ahead to get a space if you can.
Menu is typical pub grub with some higher end options. Nothing remarkable but tasty.
Good for a beer or bite.

Amazing views, great food and really friendly staff! Scarlett was so lovely, helpful and accommodating and even with me be annoying wanting a last minute booking on the rooftop only a few days before. I always suggest this place now whenever someone wants a cool rooftop bar!

One of the best Pubs in Sydney, for many years. Great food, friendly staff, unpretentious atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the food quality has been steadily declining due to the change in chefs a few months back.

The new dishes are now incredibly overpriced compared to the size and flavour they once had.

I actually used to take my friends there just to try your perfect crunchy wedges, now they are just an oily mess.

I really hope you guys get the new chefs better trained and come back to your glory.

Visited Sydney twice, both times I've eaten at the Glenmore.
The food is decent and the bar is cosy (we sit in the nook behind the bar). The staff are friendly enough and the drinks offering has plenty of choice.

Really nice rooftop bar location with great selection of cocktails (in a dedicated area) and also excellent selection of tap beers. Enjoyed the Glenmore a few times with family and friends. Never been disappointed. Booking in advance to get the best opera house views.

Chicken burger was fantastic
Pappardelle was a little spicy but very nice fresh authentic pasta

Highly enjoyed it

Long established Sydney watering hole. Rooftop bar with great views overlooking the Opera House with live, chilled-out music on the Sunday afternoon I went. Very covid safe if that's your thing. Cold misters blowing to keep the punters cool, Cold beer, good service, reasonable food and a great Sydney vibe for people of all ages. Love it.

Rooftop bar is an ideal spot to enjoy the cityscape and your drinks. Can get fairly crowded up there on a Friday/Saturday night. There are rooms on the mid-level floor if you wanted to get out of the cold on the rooftop. Food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Cocktail list is also worth sampling.

A unique hotel which I have visited for 30 years. It is better now than ever. Awesome location. Best roof top bar in Sydney, overlooking Circular Quay. Plus a very sexy cocktail bar. You must visit thos place.

I tried to call yesterday mid-morning to make a booking for Saturday. I continually got the answering machine, so finally left a message which was never returned. I also sent an email requesting said booking.

I finally got a reply 24 hours later stating that bookings are not being taken. Why did it take you 24 hours?

If you had let me know yesterday I would have had more time to make alternative arrangements.

You appear to have a nice venue, but your customer service is slack!

This is one of the best pubs I've ever been to.

This is one of the best pubs I've ever been to.

It has 3 levels, including a rooftop garden.

The food was amazing. We had the chicken wings, pork dumplings and the salt and pepper squid.
We probably could have just done with two:)

The cocktails were awesome, I recommend the Penicillin. The staff are super friendly and professional, being from a hospitality background, it is nice to be able to relax and know that they have it covered.

It's definitely a place we are coming back to.

5stars view from the rooftop, you need to book in advance. It is very popular!
Drinks are good price, food is a bit expensive

Gorgeous views, in a very cool area of The Rocks. Wear comfy shoes-- it's a bit of a climb to get there! Great food, nice drinks, worth it to get up to the rooftop and look out over the city. :)

Excellent place for a night out with friends. The rooftop bar has a spectacular view of the Opera House! The food was excellent as well as the wine. One of the best nights I've had in Sydney lately!

The Glenmore Hotel is a Sydney institution - there isn't a local who hasn't spent an afternoon (or ten) up on the rooftop, enjoying a few (or several) drinks and watching the day drift away while drinking in the views of the magnificent harbor, Sydney Harbor Bridge and of course the Sydney Opera House. It's certainly not the cheapest place in the world to imbibe but when the views are this good and the weather is at it's finest there are very few better places in the world to consume a beer.

Fantastic pub, multiple floors, downstairs has inside and outside seating, middle floor has smaller themed rooms, and rooftop bar had fantastic views of harbor and the "rocks" area. Food is excellent!

The views are great but the service is seriously hit or miss, more miss. First off, they have an advertised burger and beer deal on Tuesdays but after ringing up my order, despite advertisement not specifying, they came back and said the desk was only with the beef and chicken burgers; no vegetarian option included. Seriously? That s after serving my beer so I had the pay for that either way. Not cool.

Also, twice - TWICE - in one night, serves came and took glasses still 1/3 full. Seriously not impressed.

Other elements are good - rooftop view, heaters and blankets in the chilly evenings, good lighting - but the staff only detracted from the experience. And their deals aren t actually as advertised. There are better places to go and get the same view experience.
