Great place! I came here on a saturday for karoake at the bar and they had live music before. Great music. This was the best place I ever karaoked. They have a tiny screen for you to read on a stand in the front but the crowd is great. Everyone was dancing and singing and it was great!!

Went to an 80s music party in the ballroom. It's an excellent venue for such events. Things that could be improved is the power of the sound system and the capacity of the bar. Wait time to get a drink can get lengthy with the ballroom full of people.

Went here for brunch which was decent enough. I had a classic breakfast with eggs, bacon and potatoes. Potatoes were the clear standouts. Coffee was decent. Overall the experience was pretty good. The only negative was that my food and that of my fellow dinners, was lukewarm to cold. Otherwise everything was acceptable.

Great

I visited the Gladstone Hotel's restaurant a few weeks ago with some friends and stayed until close. The main lights were turned on and we saw not one but SIX mice scurry along the restaurant floors over a period of half an hour. The waitress who served us told us that its normal to see a lot of mice around because its an "old building" and it's not a big deal. Maybe that is so, but I'd prefer my restaurant visits to be mice free.

The most original, different hotel I have ever seen. With own style.
We coincide with the 12 beers party and the hotel concert mix is very original.

The hotel itself was excellent... Nice old hallways, cool elevator and a good bar to have drinks at. The room I stayed in however was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, and it just had out of focus pictures of trees all over it with ugly mustard and brown paint on the walls. The shower was so small evertime I turned around I knocked the door open. The bed was also small and hard. I paid over 200 dollars a night and hated being in the room altogether so I don't think I'd stay again. I am so conflicted though because the rest of the place was awesome. If I paid 100 a night or something reasonable my review would be significantly more positive but for my personal experience I can't review it any higher.

More people need to know about the Gladstone. From interesting regular events that support the arts to a bar/restaurant that gets afternoon sun in the winter to rooms designed by local artists, it's an amazing hub in the city.

A++

Very groovy place. Two bars; a showroom for plays, symposium talks, and mixers; and an expansive second floor for exhibitions and other events. You can feel the floors creak with history and local legacy. I've only been twice, but the Gladstone has enough flavor to accommodate guests of all kinds. Seems like a nice date spot too.

I went there to watch drag race on Friday night. The bar is great. The entertainment was fun. The food was horrible. We were sitting at the bar. I ordered a burger. It was tiny, cold tiny and flavorless. I had to ask the bartender for the tobasco sause he uses for drinks to try to make it taste better. My partner ordered chicken wings. Same problem. They were cold, flavorless and chewy. If we weren't having so much fun watching the show I would have sent the food back. Overall, it's a great location but i would reccomend eating before going there

The workshop was great, but not the best area for an Origami lesson (beside the bar, separated by a curtain, all while the bar was running their spirited Trivia Night). It was a fun class and really cool very venue though.

Definitely recommend this hotel its very clean and comfortable. Slept great! Staff very friendly and professional. Gave us free toothpaste. Great location! Stores walking distance. Transportation right outside building train or bus.

The art exhibits were open to the public and were really interesting and varied in the mediums used and images conveyed. I thoroughly enjoyed checking it out and the bar was very comfortable.

We have a blast at the Gladstone karaoke night. The bar has a great atmosphere, the service at the bar was quick, even though it was a busy night, and the karaoke selection was expansive.
