A lovely hotel in a great location!

A lovely hotel in a great location!

The staff are all very friendly and willing to help and the rooms are well decorated and stocked.

The beds are comfortable and the wifi reliable. They have umbrellas to use during your stay. The breakfast is okay, with a selection of items to order from the kitchen. The coffee could be better at breakfast considering the nice coffee machines in the rooms.

On an evening out- an impromptu cloudburst led us here. Not just better than a drenching - this was a relaxing place to be. Welcoming staff and the bar was perfectly comfortable with a snazzy finish. Comfortable booths with little windows out to the street...to watch pedestrians in the rain. Bar staff took their jobs seriously and we were well cared for. My wifes cocktail was so well finished she took its photo. Typical higher end prices-justified by the setting. Other similar places would offer complimentary nibbles....but i dont need those calories presently. Not stunning and other places might offer slightly grander settings but didnt let itself down in any way. Sorry only able to comment on the bar....typical.

I can see why it is a five star hotel! Lovely high end decor in a modern room with character. Comfortable bed with all of the pillows you might need! Well trained, helpful staff. Good tasty food. What more can I say!

No better hotel in all of Belfast! Rooms are well decorated, large and very comfortable. Centrally located directly next to a beautiful play house and near restaurants, bars and shopping.

Received our night here for Christmas gift.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, beautiful room and ensuite with separate bath and shower.
Chocolates on our pillow, nice touch.
Negatives,,, Room wasn't ready at 3pm but got complimentary tea/coffee, eventually...
Great selection at buffet breakfast.
Cooked breakfast was very slow at being served, and were lukewarm. Staff never enquired if breakfast was OK. Tried to get staff attention but to no avail. Unfortunate the breakfast cost them a star in this review

I loved The Fitzwilliam. Its beautiful and the staff are very attentive. We had afternoon tea and it was gorgeous but just too much. Of course we had little boxes to bring what was left over home. Also my Mocktail was delicious lol. Please visit and enjoy. Definitely worthy of the 5 stars

Just had afternoon tea with my partner. Very disappointing. Sandwiches slightly stale, Victoria sponge also slightly stale - other pastries were just ok. Absolutely no atmosphere in a small, dark, stifling room. Far too hot to sit and relax so we ended up leaving after 45 minutes. Lots of staff coming and going which makes the whole experience even less relaxing. Whom ever organises afternoon tea should perhaps visit The Merchant Hotel as everything about the experience there was unforgettable. As Belfasts only 5* hotel today was very, very disappointing. Could not recommend.

Hotel in centre of Belfast. What a pleasure to visit. Arrived for afternoon tea, table arranged around fire, a welcoming sight on a cold day. Teas and coffees immediately arrived. After settling our waitress came and asked if anyone had dietary needs. At afternoon tea usually the stand arrives and u tuck in. However here it was a different experience. Starters of soup, pulled beef and sprouts with stuffing mix were presented. The server explained each dish as it was being served. Then various sandwiches and wraps. Followed by scones, dessert pots and loads of various pastries and buns. Lastly a glass of pocessco finished of a perfect afternoon. So much was served cake boxes were available and had to be used!! Well worth a visit.

Ok

Editing previous negative review. Management reached out and fixed all issues. Can't say that has ever happened at other hotels, so couldn't be happier at the service and resolution.

You don't ever really expect the hotels to reach out, but they did and more! A big thanks to Jara from management for taking the issues seriously, and actually fixing them.

Hotel is wonderful. Excellent location. Walking distance to basically everything in the city. Breakfast is great. No complaints at all.

There was an incident on Valentines day, outlined by a previous review, but Jara explained what had happened and it was taken care of immediately. I do believe that the hotel acted appropriately and did the right thing. Good to know that the hotel takes security seriously.

Will definitely be back next time I'm in Belfast.

I was in Belfast for three days to celebrate my birthday. Everything about the hotel was fabulous! The staff are so polite and friendly! The food in the restaurant in the evening was first class and value for money! I think the chef deserves a mitchellin star! It was the best food I have eaten in Belfast! Compared to many other popular restaurants!

The room was exceptional!

As it was my birthday, they even have my mum and myself, a glass of bubbly! On the house!!!!

Thank you to everyone at the Fitzwilliam hotel for making our stay so special!

I was in Belfast yesterday for two days, to go shopping and a trip to the Grand Opera House to see Macbeth.
We dined twice at the restaurant. The first night we had dinner, the waiter service was disappointing. The
Lady that served us seemed very disinterested in serving us. Also, whilst mum was eating her starter, the waitress leaned over my mum and over her plate, to clear away a side plate! However, when we ate in the restaurant the second night, the service was fantastic!! Also the food on both evenings was excellent!!! The reception staff and the other restaurant staff, except the lady who served us were good, friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend. We were upgraded to a 9th floor room. The room was clean and outstanding!!!!

True - the hotel is lovely.. but for business travelers, they really need a more reliable internet connection. It is nearly impossible to stay connected long enough to get work done in the evenings.

Went here for afternoon tea. Really lovely spread of food and there was an additional starter brought to us of soup and fried halloumi. The staff were very friendly. We had a newborn baby with us and they were very accomodating which was appreciated.

This hotel absolutely deserves 5 stars. We had such a great visit. The room was stunning, good was great, everyone was really friendly and helpful. Minor letdown was the breakfast; I'd prefer to see more options on the buffet. But all in all this place was brilliant. Don't forget to book parking with the hotel if you need it! Otherwise you'll have to find it yourself.

I've done a detailed review on TripAdvisor so I'll just say on Google that the welcoming was not good for a 5 star hotel but the bar service and the room itself was 5 stars. The bar staff were very knowledgeable and very well trained in mixology and the room was immaculate from the TV to the King sized bed. If I got a better welcoming from front of house, I would return next time I was in Belfast

Called in for a bite to eat and a drink in the bar, decent menu and drinks choice. It was nice and relaxed with just a few other groups in eating. Lovely decor tho lacking in natural light, so quite dark.

One of the better hotels in downtown Belfast, great service as expected from a 5-star hotel. The room was kept immaculate condition and when I had a some issues with a leaky faucet, it was attended to immediately and rectified.

The food from the B&B restaurant was decent. Whilst it wasn't a wide spread of food as you may find in some large hotel chains, the food choices were decent and sufficient for most people. The hot food is a separate option, of which I would recommend if you are the type that prefers a good omelette or something warm in the mornings.

The only downside: There were some renovation/construction works nearby, which for some reason went on well into the night and thus caused a bit of noise pollution, which doesn't go well if you are a light sleeper.

Had a lovely nights stay to celebrate 30th anniversary. Room was comfortable and had great amenities. Food was excellent and when we were given a wobbly table we were immediately moved. Staff were attentive and valet parking worked well. Bar staff a little slow but this is only not picking. Excellent hotel
