I know you need a lot of open space for an event center but with how warm it can get in San Mateo more shade and more water fountains would be nice.

This is a pretty big venue with quite a few buildings that can be used. The one big downside is that parking can be pretty expensive.
Went here for the Maker faire and the venue suited the event perfectly.
Pablo Cruise was amazing ! $ 3.OO Admission till 3pm. Can't BEAT that deal !
Truck & Jeep Fest was a blast, and great deals to be had. Thanks to 4 Wheel Parts for hosting the admission free event.
Older and pretty basic event center. $10 parking even for free events.
I'm the #bestCustomer #jockeyClub so #ofcourse I giv a 5star
They didn't let the people use the regular restrooms. We had it use the portable bathrooms. No toilet tissue, when people go to a vent in there, their should let the people use the regular restrooms. The Music was Great. The Music was The Best Part of the Event
Smaller every year, pretty soon and it will be gone
Great space for Volleyball tournaments, however, charging $15 for parking for each entry knowing the tournament is all day. Team parents must leave to pick up food several times throughout the weekend and will incur roughly $100 in parking fees!! Unreasonable.
2018 San Mateo County Fair was fun, but failed to provide the appropriate number of latrines for the ratio of fair attendees especially for families, and lacked proper cleanliness and supplies.
Well connected from 101 and plenty of parking for the events.
I've been to a bunch of events here, and generally enjoy them quite a bit! Maker Faire, County Fair, concerts, etc.
Parking can be a pain, but there is street parking not too far away.
It can get very hot on a sunny summer day! Always need to be prepared for that...
The policy about not bringing outside food or drink is my biggest complaint. Generally events here cost $ to get in to them, and generally food on-site is ridiculously expensive. Let people bring in food and drink. Especially water... seriously.
Lots of fun: had my first Commodores experience: great!
Loads of family fun, adequate parking and roomy too, I really like all the varieties and the get together, a little on the pricier side, but I loved it.
The guardian is not good. It s not time. It s called the person who bought it. It s not rude.
We just used it for parking at the airport. Not the closet but the cheapest.
Absurd amount of parking fees seemingly controlled by Mafia who spit out prices at their will. If they are legit, then I suppose whoever is behind them are the real Mafia.
Good location, large parking lot, a variety of flavors and foods, complete entertainment facilities, music, dance and other performances, some teams are still very good, is a good place for family, friends and family to meet and meet.
I attended the 4Wheel Parts event which was AWESOME!
Although I thought the $15 was a bit much for parking, $10 would of been more reasonable.
I want to get my first of my two vaccines I got the Pfizer vaccine and the line moved very quickly It was very efficient.
Easy access from the freeway, great clean facility.
Great venue for large scale events. Parking was reasonably priced and easy to get in and out.
Great event center. Helpful staff. Beautiful grass.
Easy access.
Huge parking lot.
Big convention center
It is an event area. I was here for the great Maker Faire.
Had lots of fun over the summer at their fair. Pig races, animal showcase, rides, special venders, food, prizes, concert.
Attended the 4 Wheel Parts truck and jeep fest featuring KMC wheels and Moto metal wheels and wasnt disappointed.
way too much to see. but well worth the drive and traffic. burners paradise. we are all makers, start today
The center is always a pleasant experience. The Covid-19 percussions were in place, numbers of visitors are being enforced, and I felt very comfortable. Personal very very pleasant. Over-all it was great.
Loved the place when I went there for Volleyball tournament.
Went here for the Makers Faire. It was my first time and had a blast. If you're into gadgets and innovation, this is a fun spot to go. From steam engines to 3D printers to learning how to solder, you get it all. Faire food and passion projects, I highly recommend!
In a nutshell; the fair was very nice and well presented with a variety of craft and food booths. The food and drinks were expensive but typical of fair prices. The weather was pleasant on opening day and the staff was generally very knowledgeable regarding the daily schedule. On the downside the fair is on of the smallest that I've been to. Seniors 63 and above get in for $8.00. Overall we saw everything in about 4 hours and didn't partake in the evening activities. We had a good time.
Terrible place to get into, one way in and one way out. Always leave early, if going to an event there.
Barely adequate facilities; they could use a face lift & tech update. The halls are like walking into airplane hangers, very much on the cold side, & there's an echo in some areas. Restrooms are outside of the halls, so when it's cold or rainy, you have to bundle up & or use an umbrella & hope there's no line.
Great event space. I was there for Maker Faire 2017 and it was really crowded!
Quite a sizeable venue that can host a few thousand people. I came here for Makerfaire 2019 and certainly had some fun while there. For the faire, there was a lot of space to be inside and outside. Overall I enjoyed it there as the venue served its function as required.
I've never been here before but I heard they charge ten for parking. Not cool, man, not cool.
Old and falling apart but they do host the Maker Faire so they have that going for them.
It was OK. Parking over priced. Just like everything else inside.
Good venue for volleyball tournament in the Bay Area, but has strange parking policy. Once you pay you can't leave and come again without paying for parking again.
I like county fairs, and SMEC is the home of the county fair and the annual Maker Faire. It's all big fun. The grounds are big, well groomed, and there's a lot of parking. I still haven't figured out what the jockey club is though.
Huge, roomy, well cared for. Excellent place to host huge gatherings for business
Went to Maker faire here. For less popular festivals it's great but for a big show like this one take public transportation.
Attended the 2017 Bay Area Maker Faire and loved every second of it. Only issue with this venue is that there are NOT enough water stations or bathrooms.
Sf Flower and Garden show here in March. Parking is expensive and chaotic.
The best part this year was the butterfly exhibit where we got to feed the butterflies using q tips. They were flying all over the place. The food is petty typical fair food we had a BBQ plate and water for about $20 and a small lobster fries for $12. Had free admission and parking from a family member so I don't know the exact price. Went on a Wednesday night, not too crowded. Would prefer to spend money on state fair in Sacramento but this was a fun night overall.
Huge site, easy to get to with decent parking. Fun events like the makers faire
Using it for Grandson's Volleyball events is great. Bathrooms, concession stand, coffee, seating all good.
Always easy to get around. Sometimes it is just hard to find an entrance gate for smaller events.
The fair was a little disappointing this year we usually enjoy the crafts from the schools and the 4-H clubs but there wasn't as much this year as in years past.
San Mateo County Fair had a lot of different types of food and exhibitions. The line to get in from outside took awhile since there wasn't barriers to keep people from cutting to get in....
Nice event hall. We went there for doing Indian traditional dance gathering calling Garba. It was fun place.
It was a MakerFaire venue at a large event venue.
The road from Cal Train was a murder scene, but I didn't feel insecure.
Came here for a Minecraft minefaire event. They charge way to much for parking. Unimpressed with the event and location
Had a blast and can't wait until next year for the fair
Parking was close and plenty to choose from. My son enjoyed himself at the event. Lines were long to purchase items and/or meet/greet. Other than that nice event, nicely spaced out in sections.
Took the train with our bikes and the commute was easy!
