Top smoked meat
Nice place really fashion
Great hotel. Wonderful, old Chicago feel. However, the main entrance was horribly congested and the street was under construction with no instruction where valet moved.....
Room was spacious and had a great view of Lake Michigan. Bathrooms should be more upmarket for a hotel like this. Staff was responsive and friendly. Valets were great. Main disappointment was very poor internet connection and satellite channels were down during my stay. The hotel offered free movie from the pay per view menu but it was too late to watch a full movie. Instead I made good use of a bottle of wine from the liquor cabinet!
If I only had Judy Garland's ruby slippers, three taps of the heals; and I'd wake up at the DRAKE!
The hotel is good but the reception area needs improvement
Excellent room and stay it is comfortable with historic beautiful high ceilings and decor great staff also.
Beautiful old hotel that desperately needs a little tlc!
Great stay at the Drake. Hotel has an elegant feel to it. Service was great. Convenient location to walk to many locations on the mag mile.
Great classic hotel. Our meeting rooms were staffed very well by the Drake staff. I would be excited to stay there and use the facilities again!
A classic beauty in a great location. The Drake is everything
Beautiful location but was3 degrees...very noisy old building...heating old school radiators hard to control if at all...window screwed shut...very nice people
Gorgeous hotel. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good too! A fun place to stay with a good location.
Classic old hotel, afternoon tea is a bit pricey though
Perfect views and clean rooms and exquisite food; nothing more to ask
Attended the afternoon tea with my wife and daughter. The carols were wonderful. My daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate and mini sandwiches. My wife and I also had a great time. A fun Christmas experience.
Great experience. Karen, I think was her name, was amazing
So far the experience has been great! Great customer service and professional staff.
The Drake is a great traditional hotel and Chicago landmark. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Great visit
We stayed in the executive suite with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan for our anniversary. The room was very elegant and for the view, size, and location the price was not too bad. We stayed on a Sunday night.
Still great rooms with great views, but gone is its legendary dining, esp. at breakfast. The Eggs Benedict, formerly famous, were cooked hard and came with boring potatoes I normally get at cheap hotels. Very let down.
Went to afternoon tea and it was lovely. Beautiful setting and pretty good snacks.
It's always a great stay at the Drake. Perfect location, great staff and a beautiful view of the lake. We had dinner downstairs and it was delicious. Don't miss High Tea, it's special.
Old world charm, great location, prompt room service, and overall nice experience. The food is just above average, better to eat out if you can.
I went to hotel to meet some family who were staying. Without being actual guests at the hotel, I can still stay it was a wonderful experience! The staff was very helpful and accommodating to my grandmother, and the hotel restaurant was fabulous. I definitely reccomend staying here!
My boyfriend took me on a surprise trip to Chicago and we stayed at The Drake. Our room overlooked Lake Michigan and the city. The room was beautiful and we were able to walk to dinner. The breakfast in the hotel was outstanding also.
My wife and I got a free night at the Drake and decided to use it for my birthday. We had booked in advance and my wife had notified the hotel that it was my birthday. Now, my wife and I have been working in Hotels for a while now. We've gone from working 5 star 5 diamond hotels to brand new boutique hotels. We don't know if we had set up the bar way too high for the Drake but we were a bit disappointed. First thing they upgraded us to a "better nicer executive suite". We stayed on the 10th floor and the view was AMAZING. The room was VERY small its basically like a studio with a king size bed nothing special. They didn't have a mini fridge in the room. We brought our 2 year old with us and wanted to warm up my son's milk but room service couldn't do it. The only other option was to get a microwave send up to our room for an extra charge. They were nice enough to leave us a birthday cake and a bottle of sparkling wine. The down side was that the ice in the wine bucket was completely melted. The bottle of spakling wine was just floating in water and wasn't cold at all. The room didn't have any robes those are available for an extra charge. Rooms definitely need to be updated they look very sad,old and dark. I feel like they are trying to charge you for evry single thing so be careful with hidden fees and small fees that you may think are complimentary but they aren't.
Special place for special occasions and not only. The piano bar is a very good. Cocktails I highly recommend. Just place to relax with friends.
Not a four star hotel. Three at best. The staff are super nice and try to be accommodating but the building is tired and rehab efforts are sub-par. Phones in awkward places--not on the desk--and bathrooms are strangely outfitted with awkward cramped spaces. Lighting is strange and fixtures are not hard wired to switches . No glasses for water or coffee--just paper cups. Bedding is nice though.
Nice hotel but outdated. Staff is very nice and helpful
Pillows weren't good. Room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly
Luxury hotel with crazy charm. I have been going for several years and the view of Lake Michigan is sublime.
Uneven rooms, do not hesitate to ask to see another better placed and better decorated for the same price.
Great location on Michigan Avenue.
In my eyes the best hotel in the city for trying 5 or 6 others of the same level
A historic old hotel with interesting architecture and such but it also seemed a little run down.
My sister's Bridal Party did Afternoon Tea and we dressed in 1950's dresses, shoes and hats we really enjoyed it.
This hotel is a shining example of Old Chicago. The craftmanship and architecture are a shining example of three 1920s. The staff are personable, friendly and detail oriented. Easy access to all the museums and sights that downtown offers.
Classy interior, good service. Great place to hang out with friends or take a date
Loved the Drake my whole life. I remember going for tea with my mother. I never had a daughter or niece to take. Today, this is where my aunt wanted to go for her birthday and it is as wonderful as it was over 30 years ago. Thank you
Beautiful hotel, amazing views, historic rooms....bad customer service, especially at front desk....very slow.
Had a great time at afternoon tea with my wife! Everything was really great, especially the scones they were devine. Overall very elegant date to celebrate our 2 year anniversary
I really do enjoy staying at the Drake hotel! I think it s the busy location in the city! The hotel has a lot of charm and beautiful flower arrangements in the common areas. Generally, I can find a room at a great rate! I was lucky enough to enjoy the Cape Cod room before it closed. If you like the older historic hotels, this should be on your list!
Afternoon tea service was fantastic and a lot of fun. I will definitely be doing this again in the future.
Service was good, shower didn't drain, toilet plugged, they were quick to fix.
$280 for 1 night, there was mold in the vents, and the bell men are lazy and expect a good tip when they just stood there looking at us. Overall bad historic hotel go use your money on Makinaw Island as it is better and people there are more respectful.
View from the Drake. Not sure why you'd stay anywhere else.
Went there years ago. And my experience was great from the moment we saw it to the time we checked out. Nothing but wonderful things to say. I just wish I wasn't sick on the plane and cab ride there. Will stay again in the future next time!
We want here for Mother's Day Brunch and it was awesome! They had superb customer service and to our surprise and open bar! Loved it!!!!!
Great place, full of history amazing rooms and a very attentive staff. I would recomended it without hesitation.
Cool historic feel, but the bathrooms could use updating.
The convenience of being downtown was nice. My experience with the hotel was horrible. I arrived to be checked into a dirty room. I was transferred then to another room which had a leaking ceiling and a soaking wet floor. I was then transferred to a 3rd room. Theres no refrigerator or microwave in the room. I would not say this is a luxury hotel. I would not suggest the Drake for anyone visiting Chicago.
Couldn't ask for a better Hilton property to stay in Chicago. Staple for us. Everything from texts from staff checking on you throughout your stay to formal or casual dining.
Great place ...good shoping ...good food..... clean room Great service
The Drake is a lovely luxurious hotel. It is located on the parade route.
Attended a conference. Nice staff and beautiful hotel.
Amazing staff, great rooms, great food. Iconic hotel that is well worth the visit!!!! We got upgraded to a high floor facing the lake and the view was the best in the entire city.
Excellent stay with a friendly upbeat concierge team. Before my arrival I received text messages about my stay and they were most helpful at bringing things to my room while I resolved parking in my vehicle. The room itself has a great vibe of respect for the hotel s heritage but not at the cost of feeling outdated or stuffy. The bed is the average firmness I ve come to expect while traveling.
At first you might find it odd that there is no microwave or refrigerator in your room. After getting in contact with the front desk, a fridge was brought to my room for my perishables and it arrived in under 20 minutes.
Overall I am extremely happy with my stay at the Drake, and look forward to returning here with my wife during our next getaway trip to Downtown Chicago.
We had our honeymoon at the Drake they messed up on the room but they may have up for it by giving us the chairman room for the entire week. What a wonderful experience
Great rooms and service. The location was great for me.
Old school hotel with great food. Lake view rooms are world class. Look at online check in map and look at room sizes. You can score a nice room this way. Cape cod room closes at the end of the year. L
Service was a bit slow but reliable. Drinks were acceptable but pricy. Overall would visit again but would consider alternatives beforehand.
I have attended a number of meetings here. This hotel's reputation precedes it and it lives up to its history and reputation. The workmanship in the hotel is outstanding, the service impeccable, and the halls are thick with history. The ballrooms and restaurants are gorgeous. When you consider who in history has walked these halls it becomes abundantly clear why this is a special place.
Very nice hotel, lots of history. Meeting room temperatures were well regulated and the catering was good. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The gym was good with enough machines.
Great place. Went here awhile back. Very friendly staff and enjoyed my stay. Restaurant was one of the best places i have ever ate. Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
I attended a social function there. Good location, attentive staff, plenty of space.
What an outstanding establishment! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat.
