The best food ever! Had the Ham and Jam sandwich. Can I tell you it was the best ham sandwich I've ever had! And the bread pudding...heavenly! Go to this place...you wont be disappointed.

I love their paninis! I do think though that they should start serving sweet tea.

Beautiful tea room atmosphere. We had the artichoke and goat cheese dip with crostinis, which was fantastic. I also ordered the ham and jam sandwich with the half Greek salad. The portions were very generous and delicious.

Enjoy Saturday brunch. Service is great. Quiche is delicious.

We ve shopped and dined at The Dove s Nest for many years. The owner, Cindy Burch, takes great pride in making The Dove s Nest a unique local destination in downtown Waxahachie. It s a must stop if you re looking to experience everything our downtown has to offer.

Great food! Ive tried the ham and jam sandwich, the BLT both very tasty, and pecan pie which is to die for. I also love their orange iced tea, super yummy. I love their spicy but sweet jam they serve, it's very delightful. Service is always quick and superb. Food is reasonable priced.

Parking is tough to find when busy and wait times can be long, but the line moves fast it seems. There is not a place to sit and wait per say, just the little shop to look around in. Very cute rustic decor, just pricey.

This is a great place to eat, but I was really surprised at the staff not wearing masks and not following CDC guidelines.

I was definitely surprised by the quality and portion size of the food. Honestly, the veggie pita is delicious. What I did not care for was the noise level in the dining room. That place is a veritable echo chamber of gossiping white women. Talk about anxiety. I really truly would have enjoyed myself if the environment wasn't so oppressive. Doesn't seem very welcoming to people other than suburban or rural christian whites.

What a great place located in historic downtown Waxahachie. Beautiful building and great atmosphere. The food is excellent and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Though I believe the restaurant is wonderful the Dove's Nest store is absolutely AMAZING!
The best place to find gifts and accessories for the home. I can't tell you enough about it. This place has items that i've not seen in other stores. I live about an hour away (Fort Worth) and it's worth the drive to get here. You will not regret it. Enjoy.

Really cute place in an old building with tall ceilings. Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I will definitely come back. The ice tea is really good too (orange spice, but not overly done). You can look around the gift store in front while you're waiting for a table. It gets crowded, but we only waited about 15 mins for a table.

This is my secret day trip indulgence complete with their amazing chicken salad with apricots.

If I come in for lunch on Monday, don t wear a mask and am tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, guess what s going to happen.

Food was good. Some of it was pretty spicy. Nobody wears masks not even the servers. So it was kind of scary for us we were all in our sixties.

Great food however several items have some type of almond - almond bacon spread, sliced almonds etc. I'm highly allergic to almonds so my choices were limited.

Excellent food and awesome service. We went during the Texas Country Reporter festival, so it was extremely busy. That didn't stop our waitress from being amazingly cheery and giving us awesome service! The food was good. The dessert was great! We shared the bread pudding.

Neat little place if you walk past all the trinkets and random stuff in the front.

Charming and fun but not safe during a pandemic:

If you like southern-style diners and boutiques, this place is great! Their shop is very cute and the restaurant is homey with great food. All of the servers were kind and patient with tons of southern hospitality. My only concern was with their protocol during COVID-19.

None of the workers or servers wore masks or gloves. They even had a sign up at the front reminding people of their rights not to wear a mask (a bit passive aggressive and political in my opinion). When our waitress came to our table to answer a question, she stood directly over me and my food. When I visibly pulled back from her, she pulled in even closer. To add to this, they definitely seated over 50% of their capacity.

The restaurant itself was charming with good food, but the staff need to be trained on safer and better standards of serving.

I drove a bit out of my way to get here on a trip from Fort Worth down to Houston. It was absolutely worth the diversion.

Simple but delicious menu and a very friendly staff. And guys, you can't go wrong dining in a restaurant where women outnumber the men 10 to 1!

The Owner verbally assualted and insulated my elderly mother over a parking spot. It was a simple misunderstanding that could have been easily resolved but instead she was brought to tears when the owner attacked her. Is this where you want to spend your hard earned money? Contributing to such disrespectful people. Shop and eat elsewhere because these people could care less about human decency.

Food was very unique and delicious. It was a very eclectic restaurant. We enjoyed our experience.

This is a nice cozy restaurant. I would have given it a five but they keep taking the sandwiches that I like off the menu. There's not much there I like to eat anymore but for those who likes salads and for what limited sandwiches they have I'm sure you would give it a five-star. Service is great and the food is great.

This place not only has a diverse selection of beautiful decor, antiques, jewelry, clothing, and one of a kind pieces for you to shop for, but it s been one of the favorite eating places in Waxahachie for well over 20 years. There isn t anything you can order that isn t THE BEST you ve ever had! You can t go wrong inviting someone to this place to eat, you ll be sure to impress. Don t forget to pick up one of their famous cookbooks on the way out so you can attempt to prepare some of their delicious dishes at home too! The owners and staff are first class, and welcome each and every person that enters. There should be more stars to select for this restaurant!

Very nice store! The store rents out sections of the store to various vendors. Whenever I visit my sister-in-law, we go shopping. The restaurant is excellent, too! I had the artichoke hominy soup that was amazing! I want the recipe! It was not in the cookbook that they sell.

I have visited the Dove's Nest for over 20 years and it has always been an excellent experience. I bought the cookbook on one of my first visits. Tonight was the 1st time I made the white chili. It is excellent. My husband likes it better than chile con Carne. AMAZING!!!

Excellent chicken salad and unique place to get great finds

The soup was fabulous! I've enjoyed everything I've ever tried at the Dove's Nest and the store is such a treasure chest of goodies especially at Christmas time. Go check it out y'all.
