I am a resident of downtown Northampton and I had been meaning to give this place a shot for months and I'm glad I finally did. I love bars with lowlight ambience and the draft options are spectacular. The French Fries here are exceptional and they give you a lot. The service was very friendly and I will be returning again for sure.

The service there was absolutely HORRIBLE . Nonexistent would be a better description . I waited forever to finally order a drink .No room at the bar or tables and after waiting almost a half hour for someone to bring my tab over (and never being asked if I wanted anything) noone ever came to my table I just ended up leaving .I will NEVER go back

Great beer selection. I like the Lagers and Pale Ales so the Hoppy flavors are my thing. The Brick and Feather Here There Be the Tygers is a well rounded mix of that Hoppy clean taste with a citrus note.
Good spot for a beer to kill some time.

Pretty hidden of a place. There isn't much that makes me love the place, but I can see coming here if I wanted to avoid a typical night out. It is a bit pricey and the service had an off night when I went, but I can't draw much from just one visit.

Had an outstanding time tonight at the Celebration of Cider event that they held tonight. The selection of ciders was top notch. The pork loin sandwich was very good. The apple pie donuts dessert and hard cider cheese dip were surprise wonders of marvelous flavor concoctions. I could have made an entire meal with those alone! Can t wait for the next event like this.

Went about 9 months ago with a group of 12. Had to laugh at this bs 19 y/o door girl. Asking me for a ss# or CC for proof of i.d. After I showed her a CT lis. I said what. I'm not providing that. Her response it's Mass law. I said really which one? She came back with a smart remark to a couple standing next to me. They laughed. I missed what she said. She then told me well we have college nights maybe you're underage. Needless to say we walked away and to another bar which had a reader then spewed the same bs on Idlaws. I then asked where I could find that law and He admitted it was bad owners in noha asking staff to force this illegal bs. If you're staff can't use a card reader or spot fake ids figure out how to hire competent staff. Id never flash my ss# you're freaking crazy. Plus please don't to make up bs laws in attempt to cover incompetent staff.

I went here for Cider Days the other night. We got a flight of ciders and a "bottle" of cider. The flight was good, but the bottle was actually just a 6 oz pour in a tasting glass for $8. When I brought it up with the bartender she said that all of the bottles were that size pour. It was never listed on the menu. And the staff seemed very hurried and rude.

Great place! Love the atmosphere. Fantastic beer & cider; limited, fresh, quality food menu. My friends and I visit here and there.

Three stars because:
I've worked in restaurants for a decade. Went for abandoned building brewers brunch. Our server was so awesome and charismatic but seemed to be the only server on the floor while the building was fully seated. They forgot about us (totally understandable considering).

I'm allergic to eggs and there wasn't much that I was able to order. I know that it's brunch so I was FULLY expecting a limited menu for myself. The menu listed the ingredients underneath each item and several listed eggs - the pork belly tacos did not say anything about eggs so I figured I was safe. I mentioned my egg allergy while I ordered and continued to order the tacos. Our server abliged.

The tacos came to the table presented as pork belly scrambled egg inside a tortilla. I was with friends, didn't want to cause a scene, failed to send them back. I tried to pick the pork out to eat but it didn't go so well.

Love you guys, love your beer selection, love your employees and love your food menu.

Disappointed with the overall experience but will be back.

Used to be 5 stars but has become lazy over the years. No more funky beer chalkboard, fewer inventive food specials, a dumbed down menu (no more house made ketchup, falafel, or mac n peas), and not as many exotic taps. Expert choices: fish tacos, sauteed greens, and house pretzel (although the mustard is not as special as it was back in the day)

great date spot. the ambience is fire. love that it's hard to find/distinguish from the outside. drinks and food are overpriced. ordered a burger that i was not impressed with, and another time a salad that was okay at best. great drink menu though.

I had one of the most amazing burgers there that I've had in a long time. The beef was seasoned with amazing flavor, and it was cooked perfectly.

Add in some great beer selections and friendly staff, and you have a winner!

I will start off this post by saying that I have been a customer here for 4 years, going about once per week. I accepted the inflated food and beer prices because I enjoyed the atmosphere. After how I was treated last night I will say that I am not returning.

The main issue last night was when I ordered the mac and cheese dish. When it came, it was entirely unflavorful and bland. I let the waitress know that I was not satisfied with the meal, and instead of saying oh I am so sorry, is there something else you would want? She instead decided to play 20 questions and asked me multiple times what I felt was so wrong with the dish as it was a house favorite. I explained to her that it was not what I was expecting but that I would be happy to pay for it. She said she would speak to the chef, which she didn t, because after taking the dish she walked immediately back to the kitchen and threw it in the trash. She then proceeded to walk over to her Friends at the bar and snicker about our interaction and look at me and point.

Simply, this is not how you treat customers. It is immature and rude and the story mimics many other stories that I have read in the comments here.

If this business wants to maintain success in the area, the staff needs to learn to listen to its customers and not to be petty when something doesn t come out perfectly.

Great selection of beer with knowledgeable bartenders. They were able to make some great recommendations, and the varied selection means that there's options for everyone. Got food the second time I went, and the burgers are fantastic - unique options for toppers such as smoked blue cheese kicked them up a notch.

The beer scene has absoloutley changed over the years. The menu, the ideals are all different now. This neighborhood pub still has such a deep-rooted feeling of sharing a fun drink with someone you care about.

Might be overwhelming for someone who isn't well versed with beers because there aren't explanations for the beers on tap on the board. It's a slew of names to choose from with maybe 30 taps. The cheese board was also good.

I'm not willing to go through a hazing to become a regular or even welcomed in a place. Plus all the beers I want to drink there are at the Foundry or Sierra for less per pint. (and less smugness to boot)

Great beer and wine bar. The selection on both is incredible, and the staff seems to be extremely knowledgable about the menu. They have some of the best fries I've ever had, though they only have house Ketchup, which is less than desirable. It can be pretty dark inside, and the music can be loud.

Great Place. They have 30 unique beers on tap served by a very knowledgeable beer aficionado Paul. Although I didn't try the food, it received rave reviews by all with me. I was there on a Tuesday night and the joint was packed.

Haven't been here for awhile and was sad to see the large chalkboard that use to have all the beers listed had nothing on it.....now there is a paper menu of beers.. no specials listed on the food board....... Still had a nice IPA and BLT.

Beer selection is just fine. Atmosphere is hit or miss, since mainly dependent on those present. Service...yup, you know: snobbish Noho kids with, oftentimes, no value in their heart and deep knowledge of a few uncommon subject areas. Hence, condescending and careless service. Will go if invited, probably skip if taking someone else.
