Visited Middlebury for the C3 Summit (Creating Connections Consortium) and had a truly empowering experience getting to meet other students, professors, and administrators passionate about ensuring our academic spaces can foster invigorating and inclusive environments.

Great people super outdoorsy the party scene is a little slow though

Decided against sending my son here due to lack of liberal values of free speech. I don't understand why the administration didn't provide protection and eject brown-shirt wannabes when Charles Murray came to speak.

Regarding the post below on the 9/11 protest, the Middlebury community was absolutely shocked and appalled by these actions; only one person involved in the protest was actually a student, and she's currently facing serious disciplinary action. The entire campus was alarmed and hurt by this offensive, attention-seeking form of "protest." For this reason I find it absurd to negatively review the entire college because of the actions of one student. Middlebury College is a phenomenal place, engaging and enriching the minds of its students everyday, and this silly offensive act has of course in no way changed that.

Due to it's massive international programs and focus, intensive language orograms, and rigorous academic coursework in every discopline, it's one of the best colleges in the country.

After reading how Charles Murray was treated at this college I would have nothing to do with it.

A fine institution of higher learning nestled in the Green Mountains.

Why are these students not reprimanded for their infringement on others' rights? As long as no one is ever held accountable for these desipicable protests then they will continue to plague universities which are supposed to be bastions of free speech.

from what I can tell, its a great school. i havent gone there, so I dont know, but from what I hear, its a great place to learn and grow your mind.

Middlebury is a rigorous liberal arts institution in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. It's a tight-knit community. The student body is athletic, artistic, environmentally minded, and sociable. Diversity is a priority of Midd, but I wouldn't say we're as good as we should be in that respect. I'd recommend the school to "litrally" anybody. Really, like, apply, now.

I love being a FYC at Middlebury College! The students I work with make my time here amazing and I am glad to be attending Middlebury. I think Middlebury is very similar to other elite schools and the flaws Middlebury have are very similar to the flaws other elite schools have.

The fact that the staff did not have the violent protesters prosecuted proves beyond a shadow of doubt that this college is promoting FASCISM!

If Middlebury can produce the likes of Abigail Borah then I'm impressed!

Loved it. Teaching and facilities superb, fellow students terrific.

Strong liberal arts program that stresses developing the whole person. Broad curriculum, excellent teaching, intimate classroom (small class size), professors who are interested in the success of students. It's more than just a "great school for world languages."

If you talk with students who feel their environment and civic rights are at risk they will tell you that Charles Murray's solo talk represents what's wrong with civi dialogue that doesn't give minorities or diverse opinions a platform. They asked for a panel to provide balance to his pseudo science and were denied. Saying no to fake news is a civic imperative. I applaud them.

Was considering this college for my daughter as we begin our search for her continued education. I am fearful that the right to freedom of speech would result in possible violence on this campus. Middlebury is no longer an option.

I'm not in the least bit surprised by what happened at Middlebury post Charles Murray's talk. I'm an alumnus, and can first hand claim that it is (on the whole--save a few notable exceptions) a bastion of political correctness and radical leftist ideology. Shame on those who attacked an innocent professor (also a close friend) and shame on those who silenced the speaker's first amendment rights. I will no longer remain silent in the face of radical extremism, free speech must be protected. Our democracy depends on its survival. While I'm grateful for an excellent eduction, I do not look back fondly at my time at Middlebury. Hopefully the Administration will address this glaring cultural bifurcation. Disclaimer: Not all Middlebury students/faculty fall into the category of radical leftists, but the campus is most definitely and decidedly left wing. Would not send my daughters to a facility where you are allowed to be disrespectful due to political views. It's sad to have such irrogant authories to educate our children. Changed my mind about sending my children to this college.

the students don't want to listen or let anybody else listen to a speaker they don't share opinions with. yes, brown shirts is right.

In my opinion, it is the best college in the country. Had great 4 years and always look forward to making a trip back. Great teachers, great student body, top notch athletics and a great surrounding community.

What they did to Charles Murray is atrocious and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. The administration's handling of the situation was good; the students are terrible.

Beautiful campus with an excellent summer language program! Highly recommend.

This place is infested Leftist ideologues who silence the right rather than nurture free speech.

I was very impressed by the campus. Staff was friendly and helpful.
