Great atmosphere. Lovely architecture. Food was ok.
Nice boozer although it's very overpriced but location makes it a tourist destination.
Amazing pub next to Tower Bridge! If you around - highly recommend!
Ate in the The Grill. Lovely meal. Sat on the terrace overlooking St Kathryns Dock.
Great location, food overpriced and portions are very small! Good for drinks.
Great place, always packed the spot is amazing but the food needs improvement
Food good, had Pizza several times, always good, well prepared, attentive staff without hassle.
Steaks also good.
Bar can get VERY crowded
Great pub to start pub crawl through Wapping to Prospect O. W. then finally to Bike Shed Venue at Tobacco Wharf.
Great pub located in the Docks area away from all the busy central London buzz. When it's sunny it's a great place to sunbathe and drink a beer with friends. The building itself looks old and full of history but wonder when it will be restored as it surely shows signs of weather damage.
One day I was invited to this place to celebrate an event. They put the mayor band on me and I was there for a day. It was unforgettablely fabulous.
Nice place. Nice location. If it's sunny an even better place to be at. Burgers are looking good, but haven't tried yet. It is actually a Beer place - Pub
Beef in Sunday roast was a bit tough. Staff very pleasant
Nice place for a drink in the early evening. Casual and relaxed atmosphere with a nice view.
Super pub, ground floor and terrace is a pub, first floor Italian restaurant and second floor grill restaurant. Super nice authentic feeling and not to touristic even though it's next to tower bridge!
Great place to grab a pint with friends and family. Tried the beer battered fish and chips and it was very soft and flavourful.
The only downside is the line to pay before ordering that can get annoying when full.
This incredibly pretty building overlooking the marina at St Catherine's Dock offers a spacious bar able to accommodate both casual visitors and organised, private events. On the day we visited, we found it to be quiet as are most of the bars and restaurants in the area on Sundays in winter. We were efficiently served our drinks by a well spoken if brusque bartender around 10.40pm. Efficiency appears to be a core value of team here as by 10.45, the security staff were already asking us to drink up quickly in anticipation of the bar closing at 11pm. Familiar with the drinking up time allowed by law, I suggested that there really wasn't such urgency in our departure. To say this was greeted without charm is an understatement. I'm happy to recommend the Dickens Inn but only if you are going early with the intention of leaving early and are not looking for a warm friendly welcome but simply a well located place to stop for a quick drink.
Nice place on three levels good food choice perfect for occasions.
My new favourite place in London....what else can I say

Hope to have a nice Trip around Here!
Great location, beautiful looking building. More of a summer pub, for when you can take in the surroundings, plus the interior isn t too fetching.
Strictly a drinks spot for me, you d have to be mental to eat here.
I wanted to add a counterweight to Kat Cat's review. Imagine going to a pub mid-pandemic, during lockdown, and expecting them to accommodate some random lady who 'deemed the place empty'. Wow.
The staff here have been lovely every time me and the whole family have visited on many a Sunday afternoon. Couldn't recommend it more!
So I d say a solid 7, good effort but they could have made more of the trees out the front.
Bit lacklustre this year.

Lovely boozer. Spacious and good beer. Great location too
It was the worst of times it was the best times. We had great expectations but we're met with mediocre food. Too much choice, stick to the basics and do it well.
A very pleasant spot away from the noise of the city. Prices are reasonable for London and the outside seating is a delight in summer.
Nice and spacious pub In a lovely 18thC building, good for large crowds. Great in the summer as the location is by the docks and sitting outside is very pleasant.
I went in a rainy winter evening and had a enjoyable drink and some dinner on the top floor.
But the most recent visit for some food at the ground floor bar was rather disappointing. Don't order the fish and chips...
Quaint pub with a very good vibe and an excellent location by St Katherine Docks marina. Ended up watching the world cup finals here. The atmosphere was very lively.
Had diner here last night with friends. We ordered twice the rib-eye and the filet. The rib-eye was extreemly thin sliced, totally no flavour! And the filet was totally not worth the price they asked for it.
The entourage made us walk in and the food made us ran away and never come back!
Ordered food and 20 minutes later someone came to tell us they didn't do it any more, got a full refund at least
A beautiful historic pub in a lovely setting. It s a great place to drink but the bar can get very busy. There is plenty of space inside and out but outside area shuts at 9:45.
Eating upstairs is not the best experience, the food is good but quite pricey and for some reason you can only order from a very small selection of drinks unless you go down to the bar yourself.
Pizza was disappointing. Good location and service but didn't have the pub part
An historical pub all made in wood, the place is really charming, specially the front all decorated with flowers. The pub is divided in 3 floor plus an outdoor area, the service at the bar is quick. A good place to stop and have a drink on your journey in london.
Mediocre pub. Great setting, but harried and inexperienced staff. Also have NO idea about allergens and how seriously they (legally) should take such things.
Ski lodge meets Shakespeare's local on beautiful St Katherine's dock. Clientele's pretty mixed, sometimes V dodgy folks at the weekend.
Pretty to look at but best to eat elsewhere.
I was so disappointed with this place as it looks so good from the outside but was quite violently sick after eating the calamari and the fish, both of which were quite obviously frozen. The batter might have been fresh but there was far too much of it on both the cod and the calamari - and was so oily that my fingers were actually wet from touching it.
I'm sure it's fun for drinks and maybe they have changed the quality of ingredients in response to Covid but would definitely not eat here again.
The worst fish I have ever tasted. Cod was completely hard and overdone with no flavour. Must have been oven cooked for 40 mins so for the resulting flavour and texture. The starter, some soup, was also tasteless. I can't believe how they can get something so simple so wrong. They didn't charge me or my friends for the meal.
Typical English pub with a great location overlooking the marina
Landmark location. Amazing looking from the outside with hanging plants. Drinks are nothing special and the food is overpriced and average, but it doesn't matter too much. Customers are suits and tourists rather than locals.
Took a US colleague to experience British fish and chips, really disappointed. The batter was dripping in oil, clearly it had not been cooked enough at a high enough temperature. We given about a dozen chips, which would normally be fine, but we were sold the bigger portion...I would hate to see the smaller portions! The chips were also under the fish, so they were covered in the dripping oil, so they were study and must. Staff could have been friendlier, although polite enough. It does have a nice feel to it and looks the part, but just disappointed in the food. I will not be going back, which is a shame as I work in the area.
Our first time to England. Food was delicious, staff was super friendly. Be sure to eat outside to enjoy the view.
Excellent grill overlooking the wharf, a step back in time. Good food, casual dining and apple pie & custard...yum!
Lovley setting huge old pub with great views outside.
Location is wonderful but cannot say the same for food. Chicken Caesar salad ....Chicken was like cardboard, was replaced with fresh grilled when asked but given only about 100g between 2 of us. Poor. Made for an expensive dish of lettuce.
Nice place to drink.. Especially when hot and sunny.. Nice food menu too.. A big favourite with tourists.
A lovely meal a bit axpensive but for the centre of London not to bad.
Great city based venue for team away days. Very friendly staff
Very very busy (large function) but nice looking old place
I went for a wedding reception here. It was a picturesque venue in a historical area. There seemed to be the usual variety of drinks behind the bar and the food tasted good.
Really massive pub that's expensive but has a cosy area on the bottom floor
Well priced, food cooked fresh from order and came out quickly, friendly staff and in a great location, you have a choice of the pub, grill, or pizza over three floors access by walking.
Lovely Dickensian themed pub in a restored historical building. Amazingly peaceful considering it is 5 minutes from tower bridge.
Prices are very decent, especially considering its location.
Has pub bar and meals, restaurant area and outdoor beer garden.
I really liked the building, the design, a little bit pricey for what you receive, chicken schnitzel was very thin and dry, but overall it's a great place.
Awesome vintage pub, good drinks, best staff and nice food
Location is great but the food isn t impressive, slightly disappointing. Beer selection, the IPA s on draft are great however. Would go for just a beer and some fries if you happen to be in the area and crave a typical British pub experience
Absolutely fabulous. Good food and attentive staff. Well worth a visit.
Full of tourists so not a very nice atmosphere. Food is terrible and the portions are small considering the prices they are charging. If you want to eat fast food go to Shake Shack, same price but way better!
Perhaps the worse nachos and cheesy chips in London
Interesting pub in the middle of St Katherine s Dock. Originally an 18th Century warehouse, it s a great stop after going to nearby Tower Bridge and the Tower of London if you want to get away from all the crowds.
With three floors, aside from the pub there is also a pizzeria and a grill.
There aren t as many tables and chairs on the ground floor tho, so as a traditional British pub, there s a lot of standing around.
Lovely venue. Reasonably priced drinks, for London.
Everything you want really... Good range of booze amazing views and most importantly for me amazing customer service, me and my wife had a meal in the grill restaurant and the service was top notch, friendly and professional which other pubs in the area lack significantly. Would definitely recommend the Dickens Inn
Ambience was awesome, ate only a few tiny finger sandwiches, potato wedges and fruit, as I was there for a wellness event but overall, looking at the popularity of the place coupled with rustic interior decor and wonderful flower baskets outside, it was really a heartwarming place.
Not a pleasant experience at all. I had a burger which tasted about the same as a McDonald's burger, and honestly, for 16 pounds? It wasn't worth it at all. I was hoping the sweet potato fries would save the day but they absolutely didn't. They were very mushy and only lukewarm. My mother had fish and chips. She complained that the fish didn't taste fresh at all. I tried the chips and they were mushy and had an unpleasant texture just like the fries I had. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the mint tea. Still not enough to rise the rating to even two stars. Not to mention how small the toilets are! Seeing how I'm thin and I struggled to fit into the cabin with a backpack, I'm worried about all the chunky people, because I'm seriously not sure if they'd fit in there.
Enjoy enjoyed a nic drink outside in the sun at this place, one of the cheaper rounds too!
Poor. Nice large, airy galleried pub by the docks, but the music was a little loud for comfortable conversation. The cask London Pride and Doom Bar were so poor we took one sip then swapped them for a keg: Meantime Pale Ale. Even that wasn't up to scratch, didn't have enough carbonation. We gave up and went to a much better pub, Hoop & Grapes 10 mins down the road.
Hidden Gem! After a long day visiting all the major sites we needed a good meal to end the night. We found it here. The fish and chips were outstanding. The Sunday roast was delicious. Decent beer selection. If you are looking for a place to go and can't decide they have everything. From a Pup on the main floor, pizza focused on the second floor and an upscale steak restaurant on the third floor. It also comes with a view of the marina.
Smells awful and the beers expensive which is to be expected, but it looks nice
Very nice place, but expensive for what you have.
Stayed on the ground floor to have beers and food. I am a little disappointed about the price of the food for classic food that we can find in any other pub.
By the way, the fish and chip was very small compare to classic fish and chip.
Very large space with plenty of open air seating. Don't need reservations usually, but can get full on weekends. Fully stocked bar and good service.
Quite iconic place in London - has its own, unique feeling. It's quite expensive, though.
Nice place, nice waiter (proposed us a better table) , nice plates. Recommend!
We went there twice. Once for the fish and chips and the second time for the pizza. The pizza was ok. You can pick a type and add toppings, but they do not do a pepperoni pizza or a meat lovers pizza. You have to ask what is in the menu only and no changes. The fish and chips were outstanding. My husband stake was so so. Overpriced for what he got and it was not that great. My daughter's chicken skewers was good also.
Very charming pub. Had some local beers and was overall pleased.
The pub downstairs looks nice and cosy but this review is for the 3rd floor restaurant. The service is excellent. The food is tasty but does not reflect the unique style of this historic inn.
Disappointing. Come here every year and today, no burgers, no roast, no atmosphere?!? Not happy
Great looking pub in London, great drink of cider and staff all friendly
Expensive but lovely genuinely old pub in the beautiful st Katherine's dock. Caters for parties and weddings. Disappointed to find that at noon there were no sausages which I would have thought were easy to come by!
Prices were very expensive, pizza was not very good. Some of the burgers are very small and not worth the money.
Nestled in a cove close to the Thames. No traffic .Deck seating overlooks all kinds of sail boats and people watching . Varied menu. The only negative for me was 2 flights of stairs if you want steak. The building has been moved and restored with large beams and safety features to resemble old english.
Came for lunch, left as soon as I could. I got scoffed at for my choice of drink. The veggie burger tasted like cheap Iceland patty, the fries had been under a lamp for too long; definitely not worth 12 quid. Asked for sauces that were never delivered. The place wasn't busy but still the tables weren't wiped clean. It's a shame that a place with this potential is stuck with bad customer service and terrible food.
