Took a US colleague to experience British fish and...

Took a US colleague to experience British fish and chips, really disappointed. The batter was dripping in oil, clearly it had not been cooked enough at a high enough temperature. We given about a dozen chips, which would normally be fine, but we were sold the bigger portion...I would hate to see the smaller portions! The chips were also under the fish, so they were covered in the dripping oil, so they were study and must. Staff could have been friendlier, although polite enough. It does have a nice feel to it and looks the part, but just disappointed in the food. I will not be going back, which is a shame as I work in the area.
