Its real name is Fuller Building, but nobody knows it like this: we are talking about the Flatiron Building, one of the most characteristic skyscrapers in New York that owes its nickname to the shape that distinguishes it, which closely resembles the tip of an iron (precisely flatiron in English). Built in 1902 on the basis of the project of the architect Daniel Burnham, one of the greatest exponents of the so-called Chicago School, the building measures almost 87 meters in height and remained the tallest in the city for a few years, eventually ending up being exceeded in that dizzying race to the sky that we have already mentioned and that would have stopped temporarily after the construction of the Empire State Building. Built according to the dictates of Beaux-Arts architecture which, based on French influence, depopulated in those years in North America, the building has been owned by Italian since 2009.

Nice walk Mainly for the building and its peculiar style, but the park and the square are very nice as well as the market that is in front, all in Italian specialties. Simply spectacular.

Flatiron Building is one of the most famous tourist and historical centers in Manhattan. On the first floor of Flatiron, you will find old pictures that show you how this place looked 100 years ago. This place is magical, and over 100,000 tourists have taken a picture in front of the Flatiron Building. It is a veritable tourist magnet of Manhattan, and any self-respecting New Yorker will visit it and take pictures there at least once.

The distinctive triangular shape of the Flatiron Building, designed by Chicago architect Daniel Burnham and built in 1902, allowed it to fill the wedge-shaped property located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway. The building was intended to serve as offices for the George A. Fuller Company, a major Chicago contracting firm. At 22 stories and 307 feet, the Flatiron was never the city s tallest building, but always one of its most dramatic-looking, and its popularity with photographers and artists has made it an enduring symbol of New York for more than a century.

The Flatiron Building is an iconic building in Manhattan. You cannot miss it when you drive or walk on 5th avenue or Broadway given its unique triangular shape. Its exquisite architectural style makes it standout in the crowd of skyscrapers in Manhanttan. I used to hang out in the Flatiron District, as the building has given its name to the neighbouring area, and I loved it.
