Dropped off here, never heard of the place before and did a quick Google search and was staggered by the price of a room in Shoreditch. In a time where businesses are struggling the hotels seem to be charging a small fortune for what is effectively a small box room. Guess it's more for the businesses in the area than the average person

The hotel is beautiful and nearly everything was great. But unfortunately I'm reviewing the very unpleasant experience I had with someone named Vivan who has effected my whole experience there. She is so rude and unprofessional. Avoid!

Window in room would not seal correctly, constant draught, making sleeping uncomfortable. Room overlooked side street where both nights of our stay we were woken by drunks shouting and fighting outside. Hotel location is good if you want to go into central London.

I purchased a massage as a gift for a friend couple of months ago and when I came to book an appointment last week I was told that the company who does the treatment has changed. The Curtain didn t even have the courtesy to inform me of this change and I only found out when I tried to book an appointment that I could not get the treatment I paid for in advance! I have never been so embarrassed and my friend who I bought the gift for was not impressed. I still have not received a refund.
Do not book Spa treatment at The Curtain as you don t get what you paid for.

Not really a 5* hotel by most standards. Their pool is more of a water feature than anything fictional, rooms are boxy (as you might expect from a London hotel in fairness) and roof terrace bar had a menu of uninspiring beverages and is usually dead as a door nail. Positives: staff were helpful, location is good and the ground floor bar is lively and has an eclectic menu.

Really nice hotel to stay in! Breakfast with freshly squeezed juice and fresh dishes avaliable every morning in a quaint greenhouse-style area.

The room are comfortable with my favorite part being the steam valves in the bathroom for a personal sauna.

Highly recommended for the Shoreditch area!

A lovely, chic and hip bar/restaurant/lounge. Definitely one of a kind, very quirky and unique with its layout, designs and aimbence. Sightly pricey, but still worth a visit. They also have live music and a members only club. Only a 7mins walk from Liverpool Street station

Cool and funky hotel located in Shoreditch. Had a small rooftop pool that s good for drinks and some light bites. Red Rooster is located downstairs of the hotel and is very lively as well as good fun. Bedrooms are designed in the Shoreditch style with exposed brick wall, rock n roll vibes with an old school.

Fun hotel with great rooftop spot service is slow, but views and food hit the spot. Tried their lower level restaurant as well good and would return, but not wowed...especially with some of the other more eclectic choices in the neighborhood.

This has to be one of the nicest buffets I've ever had. We didn't have time to try the hot food though unfortunately but we'll go back again!

As for the rooms, we stayed in one of the junior suites and everything was amazing! The mocktails we had upon arrival were next level too - I'd probably kill for that recipe!

I have been here for less than 24 hours and I must take a moment to give them a 5-star review. I arrived, in poor planning on my part, far in advance of the check-in time, jet-lagged and barely able to keep standing. They took care of me in taking my bags, badging me up to the rooftop terrace where I could enjoy a leisurely breakfast catching up on emails, helping me find a somewhere to replace the plug adapter I'd left at home and getting me into a room nearly 3 hours in advance of check-in which allowed me to get my much needed sleep. The gentleman who helped me to my room was beyond gracious and helpful. The room itself is delightful. Upon awakening and descending to find somewhere to eat, the lady at the front desk provided eloquent suggestions on nearby places. After a brief walk around the block to check them out I returned to Lido, the same rooftop restaurant that had sheltered me that morning, and enjoyed a divine dinner of fried artichoke for a starter, lobster spaghetti for the main, and the chocolate raspberry mouse dessert, accompanied by proseco and rare sunny 80 degree weather in London. Returning to the room I crave a final glass of bubbly to wind down before sleeping and trying acclimate to the new time zone - room service was seamless.

Location was ideal, the rooms were lovely. Amazingly comfortable bed, great steam shower very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was warm but a bit small, only 10m but bring outside on the roof was a novelty! Would definitely recommend this.

During my visit I've been charged several times for things I've not used.
Additionally my credit card was charged "by accident" for 600GBP.

Such situations are unacceptable in hotels like The Curtain.

Lovely place but just about the worst service I've ever received. From trying to check in, through not getting served at the Rooster to waiting +1hr for a kids burger despite complaining about 4 times. Pathetic considering the price

The lady at the reception was so rude.
I arrived for an event, that the entrance was through the side of the building, I didn't easily noticed that entrance, cause I saw a restaurant, didn't know it belong to them also.
When I cam back to ask her, to be sure she started laughing like yeah it's through there.
I was so upset with how she mocked me, I mentioned this at the event, and someone else mentioned also how rude the girl at the reception was.

What a stunning hotel! Wish I had more time to explore the bar, rooftop pool and Members Only Club. One of the better hotel gyms I ve seen, equipped with two Peloton Bikes and everything else you need to get in a work out while visiting.

I would have felt more welcome at a travel lodge. After enjoying an evening at Shoreditch house I decided to stay in London for the night before returning home. I booked online to speed things up. When I arrived the man at reception said that there was no record of the booking and frankly was very rude about it. I did not expect to be treated this way in an apparent 5 star establishment. After waiting over half an hour and dealing with rude staff I finally got to my room only to find that the bathroom door didn't close and had gaps all around the sides. I have never had to deal with this level of poor service in my life. Very disappointed! If I could have given this hotel a zero star review I would have

A comfy lobby, a steam shower, a rooftop Lido and a Marshall Amps speaker on my bedside table are a few great ingredients to a hotel. Service in the rooftop bar in the evening wasn't spot on, but it was great in the morning. I got the dinky warm pool to myself for my morning swim, could their be a better start to the day in Shoreditch? I doubt it. I will happily return.

Excellent Boutique Hotel. It's in the banking district. It's a quick easy walk to the Liverpool tube station. It has 3 restaurants. The Red Rooster is street level serves soul food. The Lido is on the roof and serves Mediterranean and is where breakfast is served. And there is a bar right off the lobby. The room was beautiful, lovely textures and colors. Most excellent "mini bar" I've ever seen. Small fridge, assorted glasses, shaker, strainer, stirring spoon, etc. Small (not mini) bottles of liquor. When we first arrived we were presented with a card for 2 free drinks. When we went to redeem them we ended up in a club 2 floors below street level, the drinks were I guess a house specially? That particular experience was a little odd. Over all we enjoyed our stay.

My partner and I loved our stay at the Curtain. The breakfast was epic, the roof pool is so warm, the steam shower in the bedroom was such an experience. The room service was also fantastic. The staff are lovely - they even welcomed us with a treat as it was our anniversary.

Only a couple of downsides - I felt that the extra money I paid for a city room was a waste of time, the view was just of the neighbouring office building and not a view of the actual city at all.
The towels were a bit old and scratchy and there was nowhere to effectively dry them. I know I could have got more but was trying to be a bit energy efficient and not wasteful.

Overall loved it and will be back!

Good place, nice location. Stayed there in 2017, the rooms were clean and well maintained even though they were a little small. The staff are pleasant and the service is also good! Would recommend for anyone visiting for a short stay.

We attended the members only rooftop bar for some drinks. I was left absolutely in shock by the awful customer service and unbelievably rude staff. It is without doubt the worst customer experience I have had and will certainly not be going back.

Pretty Hotel in Shoreditch, London. Very attentive staff, great room service with afternoon cookies and chocolate milk. The location was perfect to look around Shoreditch and even the main downtown attractions were close by. For Shoreditch attractions however this Hotel is perfectly situated and style, comfort and quality wise on a top level. Next too Brick Lane and tons of amazing wining, Jazz and dining! Fully recommend!
