I was contacted by someone at this firm who said they had received my resume. After a few short questions she said that they like to meet with clients to discuss what type of position you are looking for, what salary you expect, etc. I asked if they had me in mind for a specific job opening and she said no. I was suspicious at that point and declined the offer to meet with her. Then I searched the company name and found all the negative reviews. Thank you Google for saving me the trouble of meeting with people who are just looking for fees from job searchers up-front. I almost fell for this scam back in the 1980's! Amazing that it is still a viable business model.

This company is fraudulent, and I want to warn anyone who is considering using their services against doing so. Sure, you might find a few reviews saying they did the job, but there are far more reputable companies out there, so be sure to do your research thoroughly before handing out $4,000 to $10,000 of your hard-earned money for a scam like The CS Team.
Here's why: - The company failed to execute my contract, refused to provide a refund, lost the case in court and has failed to respond to communications seeking payment of the court-awarded amount. - The company uses severely outdated templates for all their deliverables, meaning your resume will use a Word template from the 90s and your cover letter will be canned verbiage, even though they promise to write a custom, executive-level resume and cover letter for you. In addition, the resume I received gave the impression that this group had no idea what I do for a living, and not once did they reach out with questions before providing their final version of the resume; while they promise initially to revise the resume until the customer is satisfied, I was told to trust that they knew what they were doing. Finally, every deliverable provided to me contained a number of grammatical, spelling and general content errors. - Within the first month, they spent almost no time on job search strategy outside of providing me with stacks of canned materials, such as lists of interview questions, step-by-step instructions on how to cold-call potential employers, etc. Not once were any of these printed materials reviewed in person. - They promise to build you a website, which uses an extremely out-of-date template to repurpose, word-for-word, every line from your resume into a four-tab webpage built on coding practices from the 90s. In addition, the graphics used become stretched/skewed, resulting in an extremely unprofessional webpage they never even incorporate into your job search strategy. - The coach I received was frequently unavailable and even made sexist remarks on one occasion to back her views of male-dominated corporate culture (I'm female and I was offended). - Several items and deliverables in the contract were never fulfilled. Some items that were fulfilled did not happen in the first thirty days, as stipulated in the contract. - The "database" they give you access to is severely outdated. I looked myself and a number of colleagues up, and most of the information presented was false/out-of-date. - The CEO of this company raised his voice to me and belittled me when I asked for an extremely reasonable refund amount, and instead offered only to provide a limited amount and only if I signed an NDA on the matter. - The salesperson I spoke with initially attempted to win the sale through flattery by making comments about my physical appearance. - I tried their method (earnestly) for 2 months and received 0 qualified leads; I then tried my own personal strategy (which they tell you will not work), and received 6 qualified leads after 3 weeks and accepted an offer higher than the median range they recommended.
I received a call from a gentleman by the name of "Chip" yesterday urging me to set up an appointment with him the next day because my resume was really strong and he wanted to work with me. During my conversation with him, he became quite flustered and rather rude when I pressed him for the cost associated with his services along (he told me he couldn't tell me) with more information about the company. He then told me my resume was really bad and I needed his help, after praising it in the initial few minutes of our conversation even went so far as to ask me my age! Overall it was a very strange conversation and my internal Red Flags went up to stay away from this company.
Amazing opportunity being helped by this business. Employees as well as management were both excellent as far as professionalism and work ethic. Truly dedicated to their clients. Had a family feel to them that was quite comforting and with good reason. Would recommend over and over
It's a headhunter scam. They charge thousands of dollars for 'training' and 'image marketing' that you can find for free online, and *real* headhunters typically work on commission or a percentage fee when they actually find you a role. There's relatively little value here for experienced professionals, just give one of the big recruiters a call.
Warning! Do not work with this firm! It's all about taking your money when your down and/or unemployed.
The receptionist gives out a questionnaire which asks too many personal questions. The salesperson gives you an assessment. The answers to the assessment suggest you need a 1, 2 or 3 year contract. The salesperson suggests you can make 15 to 20% more than your last job. You just need to follow their process. The contract seems to be based off a team assessment. It's bogus! All money is requested upfront. Don't do it! Another red flag! It's too expensive!!!
Then, you meet with a consultant who cares only about themselves. I filed a complaint and got a new consultant. The next consultant would find excuses and complain about different things. I had a couple Q & As with the consultant. Never got a mock interview. Negotiation skill training never happened either.
The consultants talk about each in a negative manner. Turnover seems high! Be very wary about their tactics!
Glad I found these reviews and those on Yelp before I bothered to waste the time and gas to drive up there. I was cold called, which is fine, but money was not mentioned during the call. I mentioned that I was laid off a few weeks ago so that's why my resume is floating around.
I was the main breadwinner in my family and carried the benefits. We had to go on my husband's very high deductible health insurance plan and have not one cent to spare. We'll be lucky to make the mortgage payment.
I used the services on two occasions. The staff work directly with you to assist you out of an undesirable position and maximize your severance and employee standing. They then work with you to assist with job searching, defining your skills, beefing up your resume and interview skills, and maximizing your job potential. Then they assist with salary negotiations. Amazingly good investment in your career-like buying Apple 10 years ago. Don't understand the negative reviews. Guessing they never used the services or just weren't following the CS Team process.
I was very pleased with how fast it was to get a job through these guy's. Definitely impressed with how professional everyone was in the company I came into contact with. Good work guy's keep it up!
I used the CS Team after landing a leadership position at my company. They assisted me in learning project management skills, public speaking and problem resolution. I am a much more competent and confident leader after working with this team. They are extremely profession and take a real interest in helping you develop your career. I highly recommend them.
