It's what you would expect for a hotel at this price point.

They lost a star for one reason- We were very disappointed that they didn't offer a free continental breakfast. We were directed to their restaurant for breakfast, Apropos (?), which was far over priced subpar food. There was nothing bad about the food, but if I'm paying $30 for breakfast you better wow me. The food was just okay. If you're hungry, don't eat at the hotel, go across the street into the mall and eat at Earl's Kitchen + Bar.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Conveniently located, can be easily access by transportation. Although my room does not have a view of Prudential Centre, it was nice and quiet. I had an amazing view of the sunrise! I will definitely stay there again.

Booked romantic weekend get away room in the recently renovated Colonnade Hotel in Boston to attend the Boston Pop's Christmas Concert with my girlfriend. I booked through Expedia with a Superior King Room with a View and upon checking in was told that ALL people that book through Expedia are NOT guaranteed their room choices and that they were sold out of King Rooms and put us in Handicapped Double Bed Room near the elevator. I called Expedia and they called the hotel desk DIRECTLY and confirmed my reservation of a King Superior Room with a view. We were moved to a regular king at the end of a long hallway with a decent view. Oh the rooms are renovated but the hotel lobby is still stuck in the 80's.

Disappointing.

Nice lobby, but a 2.5 star place at best. Rooms are worn and dated.

We had a wonderful stay at the Colonnade. It was in a perfect location for the Marathon. Walking distance to the Expo and walking distance to the morning bus that brought us to the starting line. The room was very large and clean and there was plenty of coffee available to make in the room. The one person that made our stay very special was Norman. He greeted us with a big smile every day and made us feel very special. One morning after a run he even awaited us with dry towels and a bottle of water. Made me feel like a celebrity!

Really lovely hotel, incredibly helpful staff. My daughter had an audition at NEC and she was able to warm up beforehand in the ballroom (because there was no conference there at the time). The staff also gave us a late checkout, which was incredibly helpful. Absolutely recommend .

Beautiful hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Breathtaking view of the city from the room. Polite welcome, staff courteous and friendly. Bathroom a bit small but cute. Enjoyed visit, would stay overnight in the future.

This was altogether a disappointing experience.

This was altogether a disappointing experience.

My stay coincided with some significant construction that affected the quality of the hotel overall, including the amenities, as well as my individual room. Had I known there would be such significant construction, and had I been made aware prior to my stay about the nature of the construction, I would have selected a different hotel. The hotel would have done itself an immense favor by alerting guests about construction several weeks in advance and/or charging a drastically reduced rate for guests who decided to forge on despite the inconvenience.

As it is, I feel pretty ripped off-- I paid "nice hotel" prices for a large work site. I highly doubt I will ever stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here for PAX...I have very mixed feelings.

Stayed here for PAX...I have very mixed feelings.

The Bad...
1) The room noise is horrible. The walls with the connecting doors appear to be made out of paper mache...we could hear D&D players rolling for initiative in the next room while trying to sleep.
2) No exhaust fans in the bathroom (really?!)
3) TV didn't work
4) no mini-fridge
5) no free wifi or lobby computer use
6) hallways are a bit dirty and run down
7) couch cushions != bed pillows

The Good...
1) really nice and helpful staff
2) good location
3) price was fair for Boston
4) comfortable pillows/beds
5) *spoiler alert* free rubber ducky

Disgusting! First assigned room had hair all over the floor. I returned key went to my conference and came back to the same room that had not been cleaned again. Room 2 had poor AC and a straw just lying on the floor so clearly had not been vacuumed. Room 3 is an upgrade that left my fingers full of dust as I was feeling around the base of the lamp for a switch. Even for a work trip the price is nowhere near worth the quality. Staff is friendly but who wants to feel like they re sleeping in filth. Only booked this hotel because conference hotel (Sheraton) and other Marriott and Hilton s were booked solid. Wondering if a far away hotel would have been better

Excellent service. The Brasserie Jo is a first rate French bistro. Rooms are comfortable, with modern decor. Nice location with access to all sorts of retail and entertainment options. Main downside for me was cost of parking: around $50 per day, and more if you plan to go in and out.

Hotel is superbly situated, close to the Prudential building and the Newbury St shops and hotels as well as a short walk from Boston Common etc. . The Hop On - Hop Off bus tour stops right outside the door. We had a beautiful view of the sunrise and across Boston from our hotel room.

We paid a lot of money for this hotel and were sorely disappointed. Rooms were basic no nice amenities. They did not replenish or leave any spare toilet paper or tissues after servicing our room. The front desk told me there was not a single microwave or oven in the entire hotel, for me to reheat up a piece of bread. Curious how a hotel that has room service wouldn t have any microwave or oven? Absolutely not worth the money. Do not stay here. I would recommend the nearby Hyatt where I stayed last year far and away above this place.

I seriously can't say enough about this hotel. The room and the view were to die for and for such an amazing price. I am tempted to ask the hotel where they bought their bedding because I have never slept so good in my life. Seriously--out of this world. The staff was so helpful , they gave us great suggestions on where to go for the cool local bars and they were right on. After I had checked out I realized I had forgotten my personal pillow in the room but didn't have time to go back for it as I had plans. The man at the door told me he would do it himself and "consider it done", felt like something out of a James Bond movie. The night security man was so nice , I would go back just to hang out with the staff. I will definitely be coming back to Boston to stay here--great location , great staff .

Great hotel! The service is great, real nice change from the much less approachable Boston public. The room was very nice, clean, however a little worn, probably needs some updating. The restaurant was mediocre, food is decent but service is what you d expect from a French restaurant, non-existent. Overall loved the hotel, will definite stay here again.

The location is excellent. It's an easy walk to Fenway park. This hotel has a convenient parking garage. There is very friendly staff throughout and the service was top notch. There is a delicious restaurant on site to deliver hot meals to your room. The rooms are comfortable but lack some of the more modern conveniences. While there was an Ethernet plugin for internet, it was difficult to find outlets to charge our devices. The rooftop pool was closed during our visit but at first glance, it looked very nice and with the spacious deck, it's likely a fun party. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Had concern with the HVAC unit in our room. Even after reporting it twice, it was not fixed which made our three night stay unpleasant. The hotel and its staff, beyond that problem, were very comfortable and pleasant.

I already did my review and enjoyed my stay but got a bigger than expected bill on my credit card- turns out you add $100 per day on the credit card until its all sorted out-I think that should have been disclosed and I should have taken a written receipt- did not get the email receipt-it took 4 calls and quite a bit of waiting and being put on hold to figure out all this-the stay was great but full disclosure please- thank you

Room 1143 could do with the shower being re-grouted by someone who knows how, half an hour with a grout rake and a fresh batch of grout would make a big difference, such a small gripe.
Rooftop pool was really intimidating on first visit (full of young beautiful people).

Staff were incredibly helpful, we loved Fred on the main desk he was brilliant.
Rooftop pool was great.
Location in Boston is perfect for Hop on Hop off tour and Metro Prudential station.

Amazing hotel. Front desk staff polite and friendly. Concierge went out of their way to help me when my luggage failed. The room service and housekeeping was impeccable on time, and very friendly. Gym was well equipped and clean. Everyone cared about your well being. Lots of smiles and no sour faces. Definitely a treat. Would highly recommend to everyone.

The hotel itself is in a great location if you're looking to do some sight seeing. My only complaint would be that for the price you pay, I was expecting more from the hotel. The rooms need serious updating, and my room had fixtures that didn't work and the bath tub had a new shell overtop of an old tub because it wasn't sealed properly and the bottom would constantly flex from the space between the two.

It s fine, but more geared for the business crowd than the leisure traveller. The on-site restaurant closed, so there s no dining option at the hotel, but there are many nearby. As a plus, there is a rooftop pool! As a minus, the AC is terrible.

I visited the hotel Friday night, not long after proposing to my girlfriend.
The staff was exemplary. I had booked a regular room several days before. They gave us a free upgrade to a better room and sent us a bottle of champagne and a hand written note. The service could not have been better.
What an experience. Oh, and the clam chowder and french fries are stupendous.

A lovely first class hotel in Back Bay that will not disappoint any traveler. Beautiful French atmosphere with a delicious restaurant, amazing rooms that have every attention to comfort, and, top rate staff who are interested in your every need. Highly recommend the Colonnade for a special trip to Boston.

Location was fantastic, access to the metro system was perfect. Staff was wonderfully helpful with suggestions, and recommendations. Housekeeping did a great job of taking care of things without disrupting your personal items.

I plan on staying there again when I am in town again.

Where to start. First off... This is not a 4 star hotel in 2019. Maybe whenever it was built but not today. The room key cards don't work to let you in or out of the garage, and the front desk said they have EV chargers there. They failed to mention there is only 1, which the same car was parked on for my entire stay. The TV service keeps cutting in and out and the internet service does the same thing. My room lost power during our stay and we told the front desk about it and asked if they would have housekeeping make up our room. We were assured they would... But they didn't, I can't say I was happy using dirty towels after spending $1700 for 3 nights. My advise is go across the street to the Hilton.

Hotel was under refurbishment, so limited services offered. We did not know about the refurbishment prior to arrival... Got an upgrade that helped. Signs of mold in the bathroom. Service level at the Roof Top Pool restaurant varied from good to really bad. Centrally located, I might go back after construction has finished.

Do not stay here! Waste of money.

Do not stay here! Waste of money.

I am baffled by all the good reviews of this hotel. I have had better stays at holiday inns. First, the walls are terribly thin. During my stay the room next to us was incredibly loud. After security told them to be quiet we could still hear every word said. And this was all at 3am. Second, the room was very small and poorly laid out. Our bathroom was tiny, impossible for two people to get ready at once. Third, the AC system did not run at a consistent, desired temperature. It was always too hot or cold. Lastly, it was just too expensive for the poor quality. Over $300 for a one night stay should get a much nicer hotel. If you are going to spend this much to stay in Boston go somewhere else.

Amazing stay right in the center of it all!!! Room was very clean and it had all the amenities one would need. The lobby was beautifully decorated and it was a nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee...staff was very knowledgeable and helpful (Chris was awesome!). Our 1st visit to Boston was a great one because of our stay at the Colonnade!!

Older but refurbished rooms are very comfortable. Shower is fine but shower head could be better. Staff are professional and courteous. Self-parking is way too high for guests ($48 per night)!

Overall, hotel was clean, and centrally located. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Walls are very thin, as a pet friendly hotel, which is great, but we weren't traveling with our pets this trip and could hear dogs barking from several doors down. Also, heard our neighbors arguing and conversing loudly late into the nights. Walls seem very thin and you can hear all comings and goings from hallways as well. Would not recommend if sleep is a priority during your stay.

Great location, beautiful rooms, comfortable bed, friendly and responsive service. My single king bed room had floor to ceiling windows which I loved. Plenty of power outlets to plug in devices. The pressure of the shower head made taking a shower feel like a spa experience. The restaurant was closed for renovations while I was there, but the food from room service was very good. My only complaint is the the AC unit was very loud (white noice only, but at a higher than normal level). I turned it off before making phone calls.

Our stay at the Colonnade was wonderful. We were warmly greeted at arrival. The location is great for shopping and restuarants. Our daughter really enjoyed the pool on the top of the hotel.
