Fantastic place with the best gorgonzola/prosciutto pizza. We are coming back on Easter...
Staff great.
Food (not pub prices but at least steak feels luke good quality)
Ambience : You really need to take finger out of your bum. The place is Dying, do something about it.
Came here on trivia night. Beer garden is awkwardly quiet because apparently sound system is linked with the inside... came in group and some food arrived half an hour before the rest. Good food, good pub. Could do a lot better though
Great neighborhood pub for the family or drinks with mates. They do a good job separating the betting section from the family area
Such an improvement on the old version. Try the white sangria..amazing! Standard pub fare but done well.
I was alarmed when our dinner arrived no more than five minutes after ordering. I can t even make stir through pasta that quick. The pasta special was terrible and the chicken Schnitty was below pub standard. Expected better. The pub itself is nice and the beer is cold.
You can only have mash with your schnit, no mushroom sauce anymore, no salad included, and all for 150% of the price. The new menu is devestating. Who puts a jar of capers on a schnit?
Excellent place to have lunch, dinner or drinks. Warm and friendly environment. Families and friends are welcome to this place
Good pub, up market a little, good beers , open spaces, food pricey but ok,....
Nice, decent size hotel. Good atmosphere in the evening
Good experience except manual lift kept breaking down and disabled people in our bus group had to use steep stairs to access the restraunnt and upstairs bar. Staff were helpful but unfortunately our bus was too large to access the Carpark where we could have access to the automatic lift. Unfortunately our group will not be going back.
The place is comfortable, friendly people, good music and space too.
Such a beautiful neighbourhood pub just near Clovelly beach. Nice beers and wine.
Amazing food with massive servings, great chilled vibe
Great bar with great food and drink options, crazy pricey though. They also allow dogs which is amazing!
Nice generous portion meal and good tap beer selection.
Really nice outdoor area, friendly staff and great food.
Great food, good prices, heaps of drink options, live music and right on the beach.
Food was overpriced and under cooked a seafood board that had so much potential but potentially poisonous. Manager never showed to ask the issue. I'll try the steak next time..
Very nice place where to relax after work. Next time I should taste more than just beers.
Live music was great, they had a great band getting the mood up and the dancefloor going. Very polite staff, eager to help and the security were very polite.
What a fantastic venue, during the week its not crowded and the beer garden is beautiful
Love this place. Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, friendly patrons and staff. Can't wait for the chance to stay here - The Cloey Hotel
Called 3 times to book reservation, no answer, then took phone off the hook. Thanks champion
2up was pretty bad this year, felt like the two guys running it didn t actually know the rules (the security guy helping was awesome though).
Not a single person was made to do push-ups, the plank had a rubber sleeve so you couldn t spin the coins properly and heaps of fouls were not called. I was about $200 up but still didn t enjoy it. If they are running 2up again next year we ll be going somewhere else
I go to Clovelly hotel on a regular basis. I ll begin with the positives the beer is great! the entertainment is great! That implies my 2 star rating. As for the food I ve order a few things on the menu now. First thing the Clovelly burger read awesome though when I got it..... the bottom of the bun was soggy so wet it reminded me of dog food. The pizza was a little better (just the outside crust). To stuff a pizza (margarita) is pretty hard. As for the other food, wedges and one main meal... I think I will put it lightly and say it should be on LIFE SUPPORT. The worst thing is this is my local hotel. The staff are amazing 5 star that includes the wonderfull security guards. but please fix your food I m hungry and I want to change this review!
Great pub, and well priced beers. Location not bad either
Great location and the bar area is a great spot. Not too busy and easy to get a drink. Didn't eat but did looked ok
Love this place! Good food, good selection of drinks, always a good crowd, perfect to start the night at
Recently had my sister in laws baby shower here. Everything was absolutely perfect. Big thanks to caitlyn and Jack for all their help. The food was delicious especially the fish tacos. Great venue and beautiful views. We will be back.
Good menu selection. Meals were tasty, hot and generous in size.
If you see Bread and Butter pudding on the "Specials" board don't hesitate it was delicious !
Busy, vibrant, tons if activity, great drinks choice, good reasonable priced food. What's not to like
Great pub. Good to families (prams) and watching live sports :-)
Brilliant place to hold a school reunion, party, or function
Was there for an engagement party. Toilets are unisex.
Appetizers was nice & tasty
Parking on streets nearby maybe a bit of a walk
Spacious and clean hotel. Looks like they just had a big renovation in the last few years. Have a very great boathouse vibe. Have big selections of beers on the tap and also on the bottle. Too bad you don't get the view of the beach.
Sunday lunch disappointing Chicken Schnitzel burnt and bitter seems like they do not care. i gave the meal to the staff she asked would i like another one but its all to late once every one else has eaten. No Chief would allow a meal to go out like that. my burger was fine, atmosphere great beer great
Great location. Outdoor seating is fantastic on a warm afternoon or evening.
Inside is like an echo chamber with music that's too loud. Bar staff slow and drink selection could be improved, especially given the awesome products being made regionally. Food is standard.
You are here for the location, and hopefully someday warm when it isn't too busy
Really cool place, lots of choic and in a great spot.
Good pub, good food, nice people and not crazy busy like others in the area.
Great tasting and value pub food. Comfortable place to hang out.
Chilled out. Many areas to choose from. Great pizza
A good local, relaxed atmosphere with a solid menu. The roast pumpkin bowl was excellent especially with the hommus and the off tap espresso martinis do the trick.
We had a fantastic stay here. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished, the rooms are clean and are the perfect blend of a modern beachside feel. I will definitely stay here again.
Great food with Stone & Wood ale. You can't go wrong...want some spicy Cajun Squid...ask for more spice...I really recommend it.
Great place to go and chill out on Sundays. It's known for having the best Sunday sesh in the eastern suburbs, particularly when summer roles around.
My brother in law says best pub in Sydney . If you like your pints and punting. Can t go wrong.
Would like to say I had a Nice family reunion. But there was green chips in my dinner and they had no more garlic bread. After looking up the green chips online we realised that they were Poisonis. They do have a very good snichzel.
Such a nice layout of this place, hidden gem, don't come here often but keep coming back every now and then
Great food, top location, fantastic spot for a family feed. Highly recommend
Very helpful staff..thanks for the extra help on the WiFI..much appreciated
A really tasty dinner at a good price. Friendly staff who provided good service.
The place is amazing and the price it' s good.
I don't know why people says it's overprice , they probably not from Sydney .
Friendly staff member , but only 3 star for the food .
My Gf got a salmon pokebowl wich was really salty .
I've got a chicken karaage wich was pretty sad and dry, also the chips were not crispy and salt was missing.
From my point of view if you do easy pub food , doesn't have be perfect but at list good.
kitchen need improvment.
Nice rooms but an effort to get service or assistance. More focus given to guests in the bar than residents
Sat 10th Nov 2018, a review was written by Mich Samuels , a fellow blogger and a fair one. Concerned travelers wrote me pointing out Mich's review, which I read and screenshot. However, Clovelly Hotel, last Sunday 11th, in poor sportsmanship and "commandant" censorship removed his review which basically noted bad behavior exhibited by bar and security staff during Fri night 9th Nov; more importantly, when you read other reviews on the hotel's website, others are reporting the same stand-over bully tactics employed by some staff members. Stay away travelers, this place is bad news. Mr Moran should get involved and remove the perps.; three was Mich's last count.
Crowd is a bit weird and for Anzac day they charge you an arm and a leg for a corona. The place is nice.
This is a big old sprawling pub that Sydney seems to specialise in. The highlights are the outside space, which is great on a sunny day. It also has plenty of room for big sporting events (of which it shows most). However, it fluctuates between being totally rammed or completely empty. Fine if you are in the area (after a hard day on the beach for example) but wouldn't really make the trip.
Family birthday dinner and drinks.Enjoyable night and good venue but food was overpriced when adding an extra to the meals eg a slice of haloumi cheese and chicken .
