Ok, but overpriced for the quality. Still a great location. Tap beer selection could be better. Seems Sydney still lags behind Melbourne in that respect.
Expensive. The food is pretty average. The menu I found online was not accurate, they now have 2 different steak options with the cheapest at $28. That s the one in my photo.
The steak special on trivia nights (Wednesday, I think) is much better value at $16. I thought it was actually a better meal too.
Glass of soft drink is $4.50. It s extremely noisy and on weekends there are kids running around everywhere, parents off doing their own thing, I guess.
Chicken burger tastes like fish, must have been cooked in the same oil! Served burnt pizza which was replaced by a tasteless one! Not good
Everything you want from a massive, traditional city pub right on the coast.
Great atmosphere and lively place. Pub food is good
Cool beer garden and quality beer and food selection. Perfect place for a drink after a swim
Had some drinks and food with friends at the Closet on Xmas Eve. The drinks were served in plastic cups which is never great especially for those of us that had wine. The food was actually really good, but the price is over the top. $24 for a pizza in a pub is ridiculous, especially when you have to go and order and pay for the food in another part of the pub. Should at least be full service for those kind of prices.
Food awful, staff untrained and unfriendly. I wish I could say nice things. It is such a beautiful pub. Lots of good memories but new owners/ managers have missed the mark. Hopefully they can turn it around.
