Very cool music venue. It was one of Gerry Garcia's favorite places to play and remains a favorite of many musicians to this day. Make sure to show up early because parking fills up quick.

Bought tickets to see Primus at the Capitol Theatre in June for my boyfriend's birthday. Was a short commute from New York City - Grand Central Station - to the theatre. It's right off the train! Beautiful venue, great acoustics, staff were polite and it was overall an awesome show! Would go back anytime!

The Capitol is a great place to see shows. Not a large venue, but always providing excellent options and seating.

Directly connected to Garcias, you can grab a drink before the show and walk right in with your ticket.

This place is beautiful and has awesome sound quality. The staff was just lovely and the owner was even there to see Umphrey s shred. What a cool dude! I ll definitely be back in the future.

WE LOVE THE CAP!!

WE LOVE THE CAP!!

We ve been seeing Phil and associated shows there for some time now - of course we live in Maine so can only get down to
Port Chester a handful of times each year but - did I mention we love the Cap??p
The venue is beautiful - a huge shout out to Peter Shapiro and everyone else associated with making this happen. I ll tell you that you ve made a lot of us very happy. In a modern world of Unfriendly venues, the Cap is breath of fresh air - the employees always tell us to be safe but have a wonderful time, everyone respects the venue because of it and did I mention how much we love the Cap! :) final shout out to Lena who runs Capitol Theater merchandise and is super friendly - like everyone else that works there!
Long live The Capitol Theater Port Chester - The Original Rock Palace!
Mark & Althea from Maine!

What a great night.

What a great night.

Saw three cover bands. Appetite for destruction of guns and roses cover band. Tragedy of Bee Gees heavy metal cover band. And Moxie Crue all female motley Crue cover band.

Places big enough for atmosphere but small enough to be personal nice bar in the back acoustics are awesome upper deck seating open floor on the bottom what a great great venue. And the staff was very pleasant and professional.

it is a real historic performance center featuring world famous artists 20 minutes from my house in a sleepy rivertown with lots of local restaurant choices, train station across the street and it sounds awesome.

Stunning venue. Grab a drink at the attached bar, Garcia's, admire the architecture, then settle in for a show where there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are fabulous, the view from the balcony is especially breathtaking. On top of all that, it couldn't be easier to get here from the train station. Just a quick walk across the street and you're good. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Love The Cap and all of the love that's gone in to bringing this classic venue back to life. Amazing staff from the owner on down, great booking of fun shows, solid drink prices, lots of cool merch, and a GREAT bar attached where Jerry watches over you as you watch over up and coming acts, or the occasional underplay. Love this place!

It's nice to have a venue in Westchester. The sound system is good and the stage is a nice size. This venue gets two stars because the security has been very aggressive on multiple occasions. When I pay a good amount of money to see a band I do not expect to be yelled at and frisked as if I am a criminal entering a correctional facility.

Great venue. I love standing at the orchestra level. Everyone dances and has a great time. 2 bars, seating in the balcony, nice vibe. Even the security guards are a friendly bunch. Same acts as the city minus the hassle.

Only reason I'm giving it 1 stars is because the security is a joke! I watched them kick people out for something their friends did! After they kicked a guy out they asked him how much money he was willing to give them to let hin back in !

Just saw Modest Mouse here, and it was phenomenal! The lights and overall look of the theatre was awesome. I had to stand since I got a general admissions ticket but I don't care! I was right in front of the stage. The only bad thing I have to say is I'd rather smuggle a beer in up my a** than pay $8 for a bud light.

I've been to about 20 shows at the Cap and I'm never going back! The venue itself is great and the people who work inside are awesome. But, they way they do full body searches before you go in is so insulting. I've never been to a place where they search you more. It's so hard core, they search your shoes and make you open your wallet and anything else that has a zipper or close on it. What are you looking for in my wallet? There are too many bands and too many venues to put up with that B.S. You would think that with a Deadhead running it they would be reasonable. But this is the worst entry procedure I've ever seen and won't spend my money to deal with that nonsense ever again! It's gotten worse over time. I've seen hundreds of shows over 35 years around the world and the Cap has the worst entry security procedure I've ever had to deal with. Why is that necessary? Why is it necessary to search you much harder to go into a concert venue than to get on an airplane? I understand if you are trying to ensure folks don't bring in weapons. But, why do you need me to open my wallet and my phone case? Treat others as you would want to be treated! Good riddance.

Beautiful venue, great acoustics that will not disappoint. Wasn't impressed by some of the guests there but you can't fault the facility for that. (BTW--- IMO, you can't be mad when people want to dance at a concert. That's what music does to people). If one of your favorite artist comes to town, definitely go!!

Just avoid this place security is terrible sound is terrible people are terrible because the smart people avoid this place. What your left with is extremely drunk people they will gladly over serve. I will never attend another show here.

This place is beautiful and all the employees where very friendly and helpful. We saw Blackberry Smoke in December and the temp inside was very comfortable, we were sitting upstairs almost on the back row and could still see everything on stage, the place is small enough that no mater where you sit, the view is good. I really like this place.

This is a great venue. The stage can be seen from all seating positions. The sound is incredible. There is a huge bar that has great bartenders and lots of beers on tap. And the usual selections of top and bottom shelf spirits. So even if your not interested in the band you can have a great time here. The staff at this place is nice and helpful. They will take you to your seat and answer questions. This is literally two minutes from the train station. Great venue all around

This place is gorgeous! I visited for the first time a few months ago. I was absolutely in awe and now I know why people love this historic place so much. The staff was super friendly, and there was a decent selection of local beers on tap. I can t wait to visit again!

I received absolute disrespect from the ticket takers. My boyfriend and I entered the wrong line, but instead of redirecting us, the woman scanned our tickets. We were unaware that we needed wrist bands, so we went back to the woman and she said I scanned balcony tickets, I don t know what tickets you re holding , which implied we were lying. Instead of her just admitting she may have made a mistake, she tried to seem like she s little miss perfect with the attitude. Then some other worker also wanted to argue with us by saying, you went on the wrong line, it s your own fault . This could have been a very simple fix, but all this disrespect when the concert wasn t even that packed really started my concert night off bad. I didn t spend money on a concert to be harassed by the unhappy ticket takers who clearly can t do a simple fix for a paying customer.

Saw Phil and friends it was a great show and then after the show saw dead grass in Garcia's that was a real nice treat , if you have not seeing dead grass I advise you to do it really like their Vibe and energy

I'm sure it's a great venue, but I'm rating their customer service staff today which was inept. Last evening I had tickets to Steely Dan and after providing the staff with about 8 different means of identification, they couldn't tell me where my tickets were. Tickets were not sent to my home and nobody was able to tell me if they were held at the box office. Client Service disfunction at its worst. Perhaps they were trained over at Sears.
