Classic music event venue. Lots of history. Very good sound system when run by someone who knows what to do, lighting only as good as a groups lighting designer. St. Paul and the Broken Bones had a great lighting person.

We visited The Capitol Theatre for the first time and it did not disappoint. The Theatre is conveniently located across the street from the train station and is close to 287.
The historic building and original architecture in the theatre really adds to the experience.
We had floor tickets to see Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and the atmosphere was electrifying.
If you get a chance to attend a concert here you will love it!

I am absolutely appalled by my visit here. My friend told me to come check out a concert so my wife and I stopped by to check it out and as soon as we walked in the security guard was very sweet but this employee came out of nowhere and said I don t care why they are here there are no tickets tell them to leave . We could have respected that there were no tickets but we didn t need to be attacked as soon as we walked in without saying a word. I can t believe this happened. Even worse there was a guy who walked in and said he was going to meet his wife and the staff kept yelling at him that there was no re entry. I have never been here before and encourage everyone to hang out at different venues because clearly this place isn t interested in the public or take any sort of pride in their work. I attached a photo of the girl who has no business working there and I strongly advise anyone from interacting with her.

Great place to see a show-I really like how they took the seats out of the floor. Better environment for watching a show. Pretty good beer selection (pricey, but that's to be expected). Wish we lived closer.

Jerry Garcia once said, "See, theres only two theaters man that are set up pretty groovy all around for music and for smooth stage changes, good lighting and all that - the Fillmore and The Capitol Theater. And those are the two in the whole country."

Enough said.

Venue is pretty cool, but we were here for a very crowded show on a Saturday night and honestly, the logistics of this venue are extremely inefficient and though there were a few nice staff, the staff as a whole were rude and not understanding. Even with 100s of people still deep in the venue and in an enormous coat check line, they closed all the bathrooms and wouldn't let anyone back in. With no exaggeration, my wife and I waited about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get our coats. They seem to pull good artists here, but I don't think we would ever come back. Disorganized and chaotic. Rude staff.

I just saw Little Feat the other night; one of my all time favorite bands. They were great but the sound system to me was very disappointing. The instruments sounded fine but the voices/words did not. I know every word to almost every song and I could understand maybe every 5 word, said or sung. When Paul Berrere was speaking I could barely make out what he was talking about. I asked the people next to me and they couldn't tell me what he said either. Same when they were singing. I don't know if this was an off night for the sound guys or what but I was disappointed. Everything else about the Capital is great except maybe for the bathrooms but I can handle that because of the old time ambiance and architecture.

Great audio!! There is not a bad seat in the house, but the seat cushions in the loge & balcony are really worn out & the bathrooms are so outdated, they need a major renovation. Thank goodness for the superb audio!!

An absolute gem in our county! So glad they have revived this historical landmark into a gorgeous musical venue again like the place my father played back in the 70s! Its amazing to go and see favorite bands that Id normally have had to trek into Manhattan and pay double with the commute to go see. Now I can roll down the street and see them! NEVER GET RID OF THIS AMAZING VENUE EVER AGAIN PLEASE! I Hope to take my own kids here someday and enjoy it with them like my dad has with me! :-)

The staff were friendly and the venue inside had good acoustics and a nice aesthetic. Parking can be problematic though so I recommend you either arrive early and research the local parking beforehand or take the train, which is located a very short walk away.

Great performance venue where ticket prices are never outrageous.
The space offers an intimate concert experience, and the acoustics are wonderful. There is typically standing in orchestra and seating in balcony for concert performances. There is full bar in the back, and alcohol served on the floor.
J.J. Grey and Mofro perform there every year. Their concert is not to be missed.
Metro-North station is right down the street. Lot of nice restaurants in walking distance.

The place is historic and vintage still, but parking is too limited and problematic. As for Garcia's bar, so convenient, as typical of these old venues, way overpriced. But that is one way they use to keep the place going. Just be aware of the parking and drink prices and you may enjoy it with some advice.

My favorite place to see a show. It's been around forever. My Dad used to see the Grateful Dead play there! Everyone who works there is friendly. The sound is unbeatable. And bands love to play there. Get your tickets early though because hot shows do sell out quick!

Top venue in NY northern suburbs. A legendary Rock n Roll palace that's hosted the Grateful Dead, Janice Joplin, Eric Clapton , Rolling Stones, David Bowie among others in the past and hosts all the top touring acts today. A gem acoustically, with state of the art sound and light system. Across the street from Metro North's Port Chester station with plenty of free and metered parking nearby.

I am so glad this place has been brought back to life! The interior is absolutely beautiful... adorned in gold leaf, crystal chandeliers, and red carpets. The sound system is incredible, and so is the lighting system. It's apparent that no expense was spared in renovating the Cap. Looking forward to many more great shows here in the future.

This is a great venue to see live music. The general admission floor area which is sloped slightly from when it had seats means you have a great view of the stage. The list of artists who preform is very well varied. Upstairs they have seating which offers great views plus plenty of room to dance if you feel like it. There are plenty of bartenders so you can get a drink and be back enjoying the show. But don't worry about missing anything while getting a drink cause the bar is right at the back of the GA area and it's raised up so you can see the band as well as enjoy the show. Bathrooms were every clean even at the end of the show. They have a bar, Garcia's, that's is connected to the theater that served light food. One of the only downsides to the experience is parking is none existent. They have a commuter lot at the train station but on a weekday you might not find a spot. Ticket prices are fair so you won't break the bank to see a show.

This is one of the best mid size venues on the east coast. From the excellent sound, the awesome in-house light rig, to the masterful projections across the walls and ceiling, the Cap is a must-see venue for any music fan!

Also get ready for automated responses and uncaring staff. Did you even read my review before responding. Definitely finding a new venue bye bye cap. Get ready for pushy security that will boldy scream in your face. Make you and everyone else feel uncomfortable. Watched them harass everyone it is literally unbearable. Wait for set break when they make everybody squeeze into an unsafe smoking area causing what is definitely a fire hazard. You need to address your securities overbearing nature and you need to address the smoking section as well as the ability for someone not smoking to stand in a roped off area outside without smokers. You obviously don't know how hot it is when dancing and to tell some they cannot get a breath of fresh air literally because the only place you can go is filled with smoke
