I m a 55 year old woman. 've been to more concerts than I can count and attended th Grouplove show with my daughter and best friend this past Saturday evening. I saw about three songs from the band at which point I had attempted to move out to the side of crowd so I could get a better view. (I'm 5 '2.). All of a sudden this bouncer rushes me and roughly turns me around causing me to reinjure the ruptured disc in my back. I dropped my phone and started to say something and he grabbed me again and started pushing me out, apparently because I didn't. "immediately comply" with his demands to leave. I don't know if he thought I was trying to rush stage or what but ended up kicking me (and my daughter and friend) out. I was hurt, we missed almost the entire concert and it was the most terrifying things that I've ever experienced. This is a perfect example of an overly ambitious bouncer who is taking his job way too seriously. The crowd was calm, people were chill, and there was no reason for him to ruin the entire night for 3 people who really enjoy Grouploves music. This theater needs to check their personnel and this guy should lose his job. I weigh about 120 soaking wet n was there only to eat h the show. Totally unnecessary. Now I'm losing work because of my back.

THE BEST VENUE!! The musicians and artists you want to experience... and here is where that will happen! Easy to park, next to the train station, great restaurants close by, cool bar, next door, with entertainment to hang at before & after your show, helpful staff and the theatre is magnificently restored to its original glory, the best light show.... what more could you need to make your evening a huge success!

The finest funkiest theatre on the East Coast, the home of jam band heaven, the Cap is one of those legendary halls you have to see a show in, at least once in your life. Not for the faint of heart and you may get a contact high, but the place is unique and well worth an evening of your time.

Best venue in the North East.

Good beer, better music. Peter Shapiro has done an excellent job with the place.

So cool

I've lived in the area for a while, and have never been until seeing Garbage recently. Staff was very nice, which was a good change of pace. Drinks were rediculous price wise, but I guess that makes sense. Wasn't super impressed with the acoustics but sound seemed to be an issue that night from the jump. People walking around slinging snacks mid show was a bit odd and moving out of their way kinda breaks the flow of the music a bit. Bottom line: Parking is convenient and you don't have to go into the city. Do NOT pay to park in a lot, there is a ton of cheap municipal parking within a block or two of the venue. Not my first choice of venue, but not terrible either.

Nice venue but too much noise coming from the bar area, disrupts the artist playing their music. Loud boisterous patrons overtake the music, if you want to see your favorite band or artist look for another venue or put up with the nonsense.

The Cap is amazing! It is such great thing to have in town. It has great acoustics and such a fun vibe. It brings in great musicians and acts and has a great group of regulars. It s really well run so you don t have to wait in line for long, if at all, to get into a show. They have good beer and wine options, as well as regular options.

WORST sound ever. We've been there several times and each time the sound is consistently very bad/poorly mixed. Loud is great but loud, muddy, tinny and garbled is NOT good. There are many fine venues in the area that we'll patronize but sadly, Capitol Theatre has lost of as patrons forever.

First time attending this beautiful historical venue! We couldn't have been more pleased with the way things were handled and how the staff treats everyone. The theater is absolutely beautiful inside and out! We were lucky enough to catch Gov't Mule's first of a two night show! I love the mystique of this place. The staff showed genuine care for all of us crazy Jammers will absolutely be returning in the future! I can't even really describe the feeling I had walking in...just amazed

This is such a cool venue. The lighting was phenomenal. We went to see the Disco Biscuits on the second day of a three day run. The Biscutes always have good lighting but this venue had projections on the walls which really brought the concert to life.

Absolutely one of the gems that must be experienced to really get the feel and vibe and incredible acoustics. Hats of Pete, we as music fans and historians , salute you! Trey Band 1-10/11-2020. Still smiling.

This a beautiful concert venue in Port Chester, NY. Steps from the train station or an easy uber ride. I love the classic interior architecture and the intimacy you feel when watching shows. Some day I hope to snag one of the box seats. I have enjoyed seating in the balcony and in orchestra areas.

Once inside there are several bars, and a variety of snacks from hot popcorn, burritos to kit Kats and chips. At the bar on the second floor they have video screens of the stage and in the bar on the first floor there is a large screen display of the stage.

I haven't been to a show that was standing room only. It might be nice. I like to dance during shows and was told to sit down by other folks.

The only thing I didn't like about the shows I've been to has been the crowd. They seem to always want to sit and they aren't always fans. That can be a bit annoying.

But the venue is beautiful and the sounds are great! I have seen 6 shows here and will be back for more!

Great old ornate theater. Turn of the 20th century vaudeville and movie theater. Not a bad seat in the house. Saw JRAD there. Great show, friendly staff, nice layout too if you're not handicapped for climbing stairs. Otherwise no issues. Loved the marble banisters too!

Top notch venue- absolutely would come to see a show here again. Not a bad seat on the house because of the intimate size of the venue. Parking and the Metro North train is super close and there's tons of great food options nearby for a little pre-show dinner, which were pluses. The best part of the theatre was the customer service! I was on crutches when saw a show there due to an accident well after I bought tickets in the loge section (upstairs), and the staff accommodated us with great ground floor seats when we showed up, so I didn't have to struggle up the stairs. This touched my heart and I really appreciated their thoughtfulness, and this alone would make me recommend this place 100% to anyone.

The thearater is a good place to see a show. No matter where you are you have a good view. But don't bring in a coat with you. The coat check line at the end of the concert is enormous. And before you even get out of the theater the bathrooms are closed. I would go see another band here but I would probably limit it to only the warmer months.
