We celebrated my mother in-laws 75th birthday on Saturday evening. As always, Capital Grille in Providence was the best place (once again) to celebrate a great night. Ian Rodriguez was our waiter and he an his assistant were perfection and made the night even better.

Nice place if you're celebrating an anniversary or birthday and want to impress your date. But I wouldn't recommend the scallops. My scallops were overcooked and my Wagyu beef didn't taste up to quality. Also make sure to lock the bathroom door if you're in the family restroom. I had a male waiter walk in on me while I was peeing. I'm surprised they don't use the regular stalls for men. Overall it was a expensive dinner, my first and last time there.
My husband and I had reservations for 5pm this evening for our anniversary. The food was excellent and our waitress was spectacular. However, although we arrived early and checked in before a couple of other parties.. my husband and I were asked to wait patiently for a table. I was told that they were dressing the table for our anniversary but a couple (who checked in after us) was also there for an anniversary and they were seated first. The hostess had nothing else to say except .. sorry. The general manager also said sorry.. but no explanation was ever offered as to why every 5pm reservation was seated before us although we arrived first. He even acknowledged that we arrived before the couple that was seated and that the norm is to seat customers in the order in which they arrive. I couldn t help but feel uncomfortable and awkward wondering why we were still standing there. I don t know... I would have given them 5 stars but I can t shake the feeling that tonight..... we were discriminated against.
Awful experience. Food was cold and tasteless. My friend and both asked for are steaks medium well, they were both bright pink. Cheesecake Dessert was dry and super tiny. First review, I've ever written for anywhere. It was so pricey, not worth it at all. Don't waste your money on the hype of it.
Amazing food & service... Would have been 5 stars but for some reason even though the restaurant was mostly empty we we're sat in the back corner by the water station. My girlfriend and i were both dressed professionally...maybe it's just sop for early arrivals but it would have been nice to have a table with a view for our $200+ meal for two
My boyfriend and I went to dinner at Capital Grille in Providence last night. It was his first time in that location and my first time altogether. The service was great right from the beginning, we were greeted and asked if it was a special occasion(it wasn t but they still treated us as if it were). After we were lead to our table at which we were served water immediately our drink order was taken moments later. The waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. As for the food it was the best I ve ever had, right down to the sides. We did spend slightly more than we would at another restaurant but it was more than worth it and we look forward to returning soon.
Five star service, food and atmosphere. Went here for a 50th birthday party and was not disappointed. We all enjoyed our steak and sides. Atmosphere is wonder and service as good as it gets. Highly recommended!
Excellent lunch today at providence Cap Grille. Joseph our waiter was great. Lobster salad was delicious with a nice citrusy feel to it. Only drawback was no valet during day. Too hard for older folks who can't walk well.
It's pretty much everything you expected! In the best way. I was a bit worried about going. Waiter amazing. Massive steaks relaxed atmosphere. Cool location
Service was good, unfortunately the food was nothing special. I had the aged ribeye which was tough and flavorless (even being medium rare) Very disappointing.
The staff was very nice, and they clearly have regular patrons who were also good people. It was the perfect stop for a person visiting from out of town that just needed a quick bite and drink while staying at the conference center (pretty short walk).
Randomly picked this place from a list of restaurants. It was within walking distance of our hotel. We had dinner in the lounge area. It's perfect if you enjoy wines, mixed drinks and cocktails. The desserts are worth getting, I highly recommend the Creme Brulee.
Wow, what a amazing restaurant! I have gone to the Capital Grille 1-2 times per year for the past seven years and it was amazing every single time I went. The staff are nothing but great, the food is on point every single time, and periodically a player or two from the New England Patriots will show up. The food can get pricey, and it is a la carte, but that is the price that you pay for one of the best meals that you will have in your lifetime. Every single time I go to a restaurant it is a ritual that I order coffee, and oh man is this one good. The coffee is robust and flavorful, and I am so confident that the coffee is good, I would say that the coffee beats Starbucks. The steak is phenomenal, it basically melts in your mouth and its incredibly juicy. And for the side dishes, I would definitely recommend the Au Gratin potatoes, and the Lobster Mac and Cheese.
We go a few times s year and from day 1 we loved it. We are treated like we are thy he only ones in the whole place. And for special events they expert in the special part. Expensive but the experience is well worth it. If you get Ken as your waiter, you are in for the night of your life!
Great service, big cocktails and restaurant week menu was perfect. Potatoes chips are homemade and just perfect with drinks. Bobby Silva assures your night out is perfect.
Excellent food and brilliant wine list. Very well looked after from start to finish. Great location by the river. Lovely friendly staff. Well done and thank you for our delicious crab cakes today.
It is just like the congress these days, you get what the rich folks pay for...Like the Palm this is really just another expense account steak house, a bit less expensive than Morton's, or the Palm. So tell your lobbiest to take you someplace more expensive but with good food.
Yet another wonderful meal and very attentive service at Capital Grille. The meeting room here, (all the way to the back with windows to the patio) is large enough that you don't feel cramped and packed in and allows the servers to move around with minimal disruption. I love this location, the valet parking service, the entrance way... if you haven't been....You got to go!
Thank you for a fantastic dinner food was outstanding!! Special thanks to our waiter Jesse. And manager Bob Silva for making our 70 th birthday dinner perfect!!! The crazy Pandiani family
Outstanding food, drink, service, and ambiance! My Wife and I took advantage of Restaurant week. Sat in the bar area. I am not easily wowed but on this day I was.
Our server seemed to be focused on many things other than her tables. We had to ask for our bread three times. She offered it when we ordered our apps. We recived our apps and asked for bread again to go with our clam chowder. She cleared our plates with our apps still not ackowledging she forgot. Next our meal came out. We sat there for a few mins wondering where our steak knife is. Finally she popped out and gave it to us. At this time we asked again for bread. We recived it almost at the end of our meal. Also once we recieved our bill she disappeared again. She never checked in how we were doing and she always seemed busy doing nothing but hiding all the time. Food was horrible. Of the $250 we spent the asapargus was the best item. For such a highclass restaurant we expected more. Our server did have a nice personality but lacked in taking care of the table.
Excellent service and food. Such great attention to detail. Makes you feel like you are the only ones dining there. Thank you Capital Grille. We will be back!
