Fantastic stay. Deluxe rooms were excellent. Expensive food at the in house restaurant. Close to Byron Bay. Pool and Beach were very relaxing. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Resort is set in a natural rainforest by the beach. At night you might want to wear some insect repellent by the pool as the sun goes down. Will be staying here a lot more! Thankyou

Everything was fantastic the Everglades room was huge and slept 2 adults one child and one baby. Had a great size kitchenette. The food and facilities are excellent as are the staff. Be prepared for the wild life. Massive Goanna outside the room and several snakes.

My husband and I decided to dine at the hotel rest...

My husband and I decided to dine at the hotel restaurant, The Forest after a long trip up to Byron. It was also the day of our wedding anniversary so we decided to splurge a bit and get the tasting menu.

We were the first patrons in the restaurant as we arrived prior opening, and placed our orders by 6pm. We did not know this was the start of a 2.5hr agony.

The service was horrendously slow, the 2 starters, the antipasto and oysters took an incredible one hour to arrive. There were only two oysters in the starter, when there should ve been four. 10 minutes later, they said theres been a mistake and bought out the remaining two. The waiter said they had a black out and their computer system has been effected causing the confusion. Im not sure what the computer system had to do with the chefs knowledge of how many oysters to serve from their tasting menu.

The following courses took on average 20-30minute to arrive. We were absolutely starving between courses. Being pregnant too, it just exacerbated the agony of hunger. I followed up with the waiter again, and again she said it was due to the black out impacting their computer systems. We sat there watching the kitchen churn out food, people arrived later then us got their food sooner. 1/3 of our tasting menu required little to no preparation, ie antipasto, oysters, kangaroo tartar, cheese board - I don t understand why it took 1 hour to see the antipasto and oysters and 20-30min wait between courses.

We got our desert at 8:30pm, 2.5 hours after placing our orders, noting the restaurant closes in 30min. We were practically there from restaurant open to close.

The food was average, disproportionate to the time taken to prepare them. The portion was small. After the very excruciatingly long and expensive meal later ($240), I was still hungry and planned to order room service - only to realise they closed at 8:30pm! All in all, this was a very frustrating start to our trip in Byron, the experience was agonising and terrible. We did not return to the restaurant for dining for our remaining stay. We would not recommend this restaurant, its expensive and its prices did not justify the extensive wait time, small portion and lesser service.

Staying here on the babymoon package. Simply perfect! The massage was amazing, the pool, rainforest, beach, staff, food and ambience too. Just far enough from town to be quiet but close enough to ride in.

First off, I highly recommend this hotel. The property itself is beautiful and has an interesting history. There are lovely walks all around and interesting wildlife to be spotted like the shy and very cute wallabies in the palm forests! Great to read about the hotels forest restoration efforts and eco works.

The staff were very friendly and the rooms modern and clean with a washing mashing and decent kitchen.

Food at the restaurant was great. Shame that gym was closed and spa did not open for another week (both were advertised and spa was the reason we chose the hotel in the first place) but no stress. Wifi worked and was consistently decent.

Some areas of improvement would be a firmer pillow. Also housekeeping missed cleaning our room/changing the towels despite a phone call. The plug for the bath was missing so couldn t use that. Ordering and food delivery in the restaurant in the morning was very slow with visibly annoyed customers in the not so busy restaurant.

Overall would highly recommend. Looking forward to trying crystalbrooks Cairns hotels in the next couple weeks.

This is a beautiful place, great dining setting next to the rainforest. The service is also great.
Unfortunately the food was very heaving with oil throughout and out of our group of six, four ended up with food poisoning. Must have been the lamb shoulder we shared.

Sooooo disappointing! Mostly because children under 3 can no swim in the main pool and instead have to use a tiny, dingy pool. No where on their website does it state this. Had I had known this I would never have booked to stay here! Also the mosquitoes are horrendous! And the food is well below average. Overall we were incredibly disappointed!

Very tranquil location on the outskirts of town. Great pool area to relax by, with friendly and attentive staff. Rooms are large and comfortable but the cleanliness needs to be improved. (Dishes not cleaned properly and there was a kids 1/2 full juice cup left behind under the coffee table). Snack/pool bar menu could be expanded too!
Overall very relaxing but overpriced for what it is.

Just spent a week here with my husband and 7yr old daughter and loved it. Food great - especially the Thursday night menu sourced from local markets! Staff very helpful and friendly. Well planned resort - lots of privacy.
Only thing I would wish for next time would be new beds. Ours were flat and not comfortable. Other than that - brilliant.

I walked in to this resort, just wanting to have a little walk. There was a nice board walk to the beach (only assessable with a resort card).
Afterwards we sat down at their pool side bar and had the cheeseboard which comes with your choice of 2 wines. This was priced at $38.

The selection of wines was extensive and the cheese board was lovely.

Service was very friendly and attentive.

The Byron at Byron wasn't really worth the price. We found the staff a bit off putting and didn't provide the level of service expected from a hotel of this price. We also found that the rooms are a bit dated plus we didn't have hot water during the morning. We were really disappointed in some of the silly policies including the fact that you are supposed to buy tennis balls to be able to use the tennis court! I'm sorry for a venue at this price you can deal with the cost of a few lost tennis balls! Maybe charge people for the ones they lose! The food is ok but expensive when you look at restaurants around Byron.

My husband and I have had a wonderful time at this superb resort, we were particularly struck by how friendly and welcoming all the staff have been. Special mention to the housekeeping staff who did our washing free of charge when the washing machine did not work, this made such a difference to our 5 week trip away from home. Also would like to give Cheryl who works in the bar area , an important mention. She went out of her way to make us feel so special, and looked after us with such warmth and professionalism . Thank you all

Very well done resort just enough of a distance from Byron to have its own unique vibe. My room was excellent with a design that let air flow through fully day and night. I preferred no air conditioning over my entire stay.

The staff is young and upbeat. Shoutouts deserved to Ree and Gabby for being terrific hosts, accommodating our whims, and providing sound advice on how to optimize the fun and relaxation during our stay.

I'll be back for sure.

Fantastic. All staff were brilliant, super friendly with kids. Room service quite expensive with a $7 fee per order but the food is delicious and the rainforest walks are great for kids as well. Each room has a kitchenette which is great for making snacks etc.

This place is absolutely amazing. A short drive from the main shops, this place is tranquil and beautiful. The suites can easy accommodate a small family, or if it's just a small getaway for couples. Small onsite gym, heated pool, stroll the beach, tennis court, gourmet restaurant with excellent coffee. Friendly staff all around. Would definitely recommend this place if you want some peace and quite from the busy big city life.

The Byron was a lovely place to have a honeymoon break away. Reasonably easy with our little bub too. Lush pool and beautiful rooms. Amenities were excellent and the resort itself was stunning. Buffet breakfast was quite nice but was fairly basic comparatively with other venues on our trip. Staff were friendly though seemed quite forgetful...often forgetting napkins for room service, coffees we had ordered etc. Must be that relaxed Byron time. Would have loved a spa treatment but far too expensive...ended up getting an incredible treatment at Comma in town, which I highly recommend. We appreciated the bubbles on arrival but a little more care (considering we were fairly confined to our room) with room service and offering things to make our trip more special would have been appreciated. Our food was pretty hot and miss and was expensive as a result of this. Leaving more than half the antipasto plate, only basic meals like fish and chips etc...some super weird flavor combos going on.

None the less, a lovely resort in a great part of the world. Immaculately styled and maintained. Lush rainforest and walking tracks. Easy to bring a baby and close a few doors so she could sleep soundly by six and we could eat dinner in the room.

Delectable seasonal menu feature something for everyone for a casual or fine dining setting- available poolside or in the reserved dining room. The food does not disappoint. We ordered two share plates and three sides for three people. Not only did every dish wow, it was almost too much food.
Plus there is a modest happy hour 4-6.

We booked the 4 night relax and retreat package which included daily breakfast, bike hire, 2 x spa treatments (heavenly), use of all facilities, daily yoga, a personal yoga lesson and deluxe accommodation nestled in the forest. We had such a wonderful time - very relaxing, fantastic food, room is amazing, wonderful staff. The breaky was lovely - only room for improvement is their coffee. We had coffee there each day and it is consistently not very good. No excuse for bad coffee these days. but that's the only criticism. We'll definitely be back. Thank you !!

This is lush luxury. Situated a good distance from the hustle of Byron is this amazing slice of serenity. With boardwalks to explore and a peaceful pool to lounge at my wife and I quickly found ourselves at ease. Our room was spacious and featured great amenities. Very open living space which allows guests to unwind and listen to the local wildlife and the waves rolling in the distance. You can also hear footsteps of your neighbours upstairs and people showering many doors down. I personally found the bed marvelous to sleep it but my wife found the double bed style to be rather uncomfortable. If you need to get in contact with civilisation there is WiFi which was quite slow, however, we found an ethernet port which alleviated this issue. The staff very friendly and had no issues whatsoever with the lovely team as they assisted us with our basic needs. If you can afford a luxury stay in Byron Bay then this is a great place to stay.

Simply not living up to this price point. Not enough pool seating + sun shade umbrellas, why no poolside service (not once asked if I want a drink or food), people allowed to leave towels on seats to claim them all day, loud weddings/functions at late hours, breakfast portions very small.

Few dishes in breakfast were ok and one waitress after taking my request made me wait for 25mins as she had forgotten to pass my order. Also my room when sorted by the housekeepers, was not cleaned properly with the hot food left on the table and on the floor. Otherwise it is an amazing place and with very good service. A very calm relaxing place with nice free morning yoga classes

Excellent retreat that is very kid friendly. It has a large pool and the rooms are surrounded by rainforest giving a more private feel. The on site restaurant is incredible and deserves the good food guide hat that it has received. I would highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway.

We have been lucky enough to stay at Byron at Byron. It is a piece of heaven amongst acres of bushland with beautiful walks within the grounds. It is also located just 300m from the beach. The service is amazing from Alex and Charlotte at reception and the managers John and Lyn who have made us feel like special guests. We hope to be back here many times.

Resort is amazing. Great rainforest walks. Awesome pool. Rooms are of high quality. Very relaxing. What makes this resort amazing is its staff. There is no one I have spoken to that hasn't been polite and friendly. They are all happy to help and they all have a "nothing is too difficult" mentality. The restaurant also gets a special mention. Food is of 5 star quality and again staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I didn't stay here but booked myself a massage at the spa last weekend and it was incredible! Probably one of the best massages I have ever experienced. A bit pricey but they let you use their lounge, steam room and jacuzzi for an hour before so you went in for the massage feeling totally relaxed. My therapist was Sara and if only I lived in the area I would be clinging on to her for dear life. Her hands were magic!
