Service was pub service and slow
The main course was cold and delivered in stages. Topped off by the flies in the desert Crying unhappy children who were out screamed by the chef, who's temper tantrum was continuous for our unpleasant two hour stay.... such a shame to watch this place crumble from what it once was. As a local I felt totally ripped off

We have come here every year and have noticed a decline in an array of things. First service around the pool area is bad, it takes forever for a waiter to serve you, the pool menu has changed where there are not as many tapas rather larger meals, prices have gone up across all food menus, noisy at the pool and rooms as it was school holidays, room air con had broke, maintenance guy woke us up at 9am the next morning so couldn't sleep in and the beds are hard and uncomfortable.

Nice resort, too many mosquitoes for the 2 nights I'm there. April 3-4.

We had an amazing conference here! Resort was so beautiful. All the staff at the resort were super friendly, meals were delicious and rooms were so spacious with comfortable beds. Great customer experience!

our stay at Byron at Byron has been truely something different. unlike most resorts we go to, this one wasn't up to standard. The poolside service was horrible. The staff ignored our requests took numerous hours for us to get our meals. My daughter was forced to eat a burnt burger, which they wouldn't replace. The staff kept ignoring our buzzer requests, so instead, we had to walk up the many slippery stairs, risking our lives, just to order drinks. A little piece of advice, don't stay here.

This review is about the restaurant! Good food. Service was not great the day we were visiting. Some were nice and very friendly, some were - not very Australian - quite neutral. Still at the end they saw that we were not happy and acknowledged that things went wrong that evening, that s why it is still 4 stars and not only three.

The property of the hotel is breathtakingly beautiful rainforest with hundreds of meters of private boardwalks. Nice. I have not seen the rooms, but the houses from outside looked a bit too cold and metallic for our taste and the rainforest atmosphere.

Good service and outdoor dinning. Menu could be taken up a level.

We recently attended a birthday celebration at The Byron at Byron. The food was exceptional, the wine devine but the cherry on top was the service from the extremely professional staff. They truly went above and beyond to make our experience a positive one, to the point of covering my daughter in a blanket after she fell asleep on the couch. Thanks for a great night all

Where do i start, maybe point by point will work.
1. The Byron on Byron is surrounded by a swamp, why wouldn't you mention this? We stayed 5 nights got bitten by bugs as we slept and still scratching 2 weeks afterwards.
2.Dinning there is such a joke, who is responsible for the supervision of cooked food and a reasonable menu. if you don't have any expertise in Italian food for god sake admit it and do fish and chips how foolish of you people. There is no inspiration in the kitchen they need to be replaced spraying the bugs.
3. its not located on the beach its a kilometer away, its located on swampland.
4.Breakfast was the same EVERY DAY, we went to town and eat there several times not to let depression into our lives.
5. the buildings were nice however
6.the spa and treatment was the nicest thing there.
7. The staff were mostly friendly in a ship with lots of leaks.
8. i wouldn't spend the money i have spent there ever again, life is too short.

A little disappointed given the other reviews. Staff weren t too accommodating and service especially on the deck was very slow. Accomodation was nice but was woken up by the noises from upstairs with the drainage system. Also sadly a must for accommodation but the bed was very uncomfortable proving for a pretty average stay and nights sleep. Was looking forward to a special get away..

Every staff there all went out of their way to accommodate our stay. We have an unusual request, and they pulled stings to help us out. Maybe it was our 1st wedding anniversary? They made us feel VIP. From the staff in reservations, spa, cleaners, front desk, even one of the owners greeted us.
Highly highly recommend this hotel, just because of their rainforest!

This place is lovely. The staff are really nice, and the rooms are generally in good condition. I had originally planned to complain about the sound proofing but turns out you need to remember to close the big window in the shower area and that makes it much better. We still had a really noisy couple above us who came home drunk, had a fight, and then apparently left for a really early flight the next morning, leaving me with about 2 hours of sleep. However on our return they gave us a 1st floor room upgrade because of the trouble last time after i only briefly mentioned it - much appreciated! Food from the restaurant delivered via room service was excellent.

Impeccable, devine, hospitable, luxury, and conservation to boot. Breakfast and dinner were fabulous every time, the pool was perfect, and the massage centre just so! Literally no need to leave the resort - and I'm normally the type to love exploring.

I love coming to Byron at Byron it is my go-to place for relaxation

This place is gorgeous for a get away, just close enough to suffolk park and Byron CBD but just far away enough to have your own little holiday

Beautiful meal, great atmosphere and wonderful service!

A little bit of paradise in the rain forest. Lovely board walks through the forest, nice accomodation. Free wi-fi, near the beach free shuttle in to Byron. Big heated pool and sauna. The breakfast was nice, we didn't eat tea in restaurant but it always smelled good! Staff very friendly. We didn't use the spa, it looks fine but pricey.

Stunning setting, great facilities with friendly helpful staff

Just came back from a dreamy week at The Byron. Best time of year to escape there is Autumn - it's quiet, and the water is still warm. Rooms are large, bathrooms even larger. Thank you to the lovely staff for looking after us.

Comfortable luxury retreat set in tea tree lakes and mangroves. Excellent friendly staff. Rooms are immaculately clean and maintained.

So I wanted to find a peaceful getaway from the main part of Byron Bay and this was it! I spent the day enjoying great service in the restaurant and then I ended up asking if there were any rooms available for NYE and luckily there was one room left. I decided I must stay here and I stayed in the deluxe room. The staff were so helpful and kind and it was such a beautiful room. There is a forest boardwalk you can do, with beautiful scenery everywhere. It is definitely a must if you're in Byron Bay and want to have a luxurious time for your luxurious self! Kind and respectful people here too. They have a delicious breakfast too. I definitely enjoyed my time and know you will too! Thank-you to the staff at the Byron Resort & Spa. I will definitely be back soon! Much love xx

Good place. Quiet, accommodation good, international standard. Mix of staff is good. Breakfasts- miss selection of fresh fruit. Bread selection quite good. Coffee good. Dinner menu good and waiting staff helpful. Beach 5 minute pleasant walk. Yoga every morning complimentary is a nice touch. Would go back.

Over priced for what you receive. Service over attentive, making one feel rushed and uncomfortable

Unfortunately, this fell short of our expectations. We stayed here for our honeymoon, and we just expected more for the price we paid. Our room was right near the pathway so we had no privacy even in the bathroom - we had to close all the blinds (which kind of defeats the purpose of staying in a rainforest resort because it blocked out the daylight) and the door to our room was really stiff and jammed. Housekeeping came and fixed it but it still was hard to open and close. Housekeeping forgot glassware a few times which was a little disappointing. I think the biggest thing for us was how disorganised the staff were - while sitting around the pool we had to ask for water literally six times, and had wrong food orders coming to us a few times. We ordered a coconut water but then they said they didn't have any (but charged it to our room anyway which we found out at the end). The iPads in our rooms said there was a happy hour from 4-6 but then the staff bluntly said they weren't doing that anymore. One of them said we got 2 complimentary drinks each day with our stay but then another said that was only if we booked through Qantas... and another said because the spa was closed while we were there we couldn't access the sauna as it was all part of it - but the sauna was free to just walk into anytime. I don't mean to nitpick here, and if we paid $200-$300 per night it wouldn't be such a big deal, but with the reputation and reviews this place has we just thought we would get a better experience. The rainforest itself is absolutely stunning, and really nice to walk through - and the restaurant food and service were absolutely amazing - (big shout out to Damian and Ines!). Cocktails and wine were great - so to be honest maybe we just got a bad run and were a little unlucky. It happens, but for what we paid we just felt it didn't live up to our expectations. We will come back to the restaurant as we live locally and really enjoyed it, but based on our experience I don't think we would stay at the resort again.

Local visit for breakfast - great coffee, beautiful ambience but the $39 breakfast was something you could get at a pub for $10 - cold eggs and bacon, baked beans, store bought sauces ..
As we are locals and have had much better here in the past; we will go to other local venues with good quality locally sourced food at much cheaper prices in the future.

Wonderful retreat, further out of town than I initially anticipated. Absolutely stunning grounds inside the resort. The beach, from the resort is not a 5min walk, don t believe the marketing hype. If you have a room in the seperate deluxe spa rooms, you are much closer to the beach, but still more than 5mind away. From the central area in the resort (pool/reception) its a good 15mins walk if you move with purpose. It s faster to drive there and park in the same beach entry area.
Rooms are nice, bathtub is the largest I ve seen in any hotel/resort (non spa room).
Few mishaps with dinner orders and the like, staff servicing the pool area could be much more attentive in regards to drink/snack orders.
Overall a wonderful place and a great escape, but I was left thinking it s not perfect, but it could be .

Had one night here, extremely relaxing and great place to stay. Large rooms, great walks through the reserve and excellent staff. Ate at restaurant which was also Top notch.

Nice. Only problem was the room we had was at a junction so alot of noise from other guests moving around. The lighting in the rooms is confusing, it takes a couple of days to figure out what the 16 switches are all for.

One of the nicest resorts I have stayed. You feel like you are tucked away in rain forest. It feels small but can actually accommodate a fair number of people. The rooms are more like suites complete with sitting area and front and back Lanai areas. Our room had a small kitchette and mini washers and dryers. Well laid out and beautifully appointed. Wish I could have stayed longer. The beach is a little bit of a walk but well worth it.

If you know you know and if you can t afford it save up those dollars as it s worth every cent.
