Good things: Relaxed, interesting layout, several small rooms each of which feel intimate, dogs allowed, lamb dishes, fish and chips, friendly and responsive service. OK things: Prices, curry - which isn't curry. Bad things: None

Lovely food, great surroundings, nothing is too much trouble. We had pheasant from the Christmas menu which was delicious. They even gave me the rest of their scrumptious home made cranberry sauce to take away! I save their meal vouchers which made a reasonably priced meal even cheaper!

Me and my fiance came to here when we had been to a wedding fayre not from here.
When we got there the specials were around the bar which was nice to look at whilst we were waiting to be spoken to about sitting for the menu.
The man we spoke to said we could sit at a reserved table as long as we were done by a certain time, which we knew we would be, so we sat down.
The same man came over a few minutes later to take our drinks order and then a waitress was along a few more minutes later to take our orders.
We had fried chilli beef strips for our starters to share and They were delicious.
When our mains come, we was happy with the portion size and the food was delicious.
We would definitely return if we were ever over in that area again.

Best pub in North West, perfect atmosphere whether summer or winter. Amazing food, great wine and gin selection. The friendliness and professionalism of the team their just adds to this. It is also a pleasure to go. They are child and dog friendly and it is our favourite place to go.

Usually really good place to eat but today had issues with service (very slow) and food burnt steak and fish with more batter than fish. Mentioned it when paying and they apologised and gave free a number of tickets for a free meal during the week as compensation which was very good of them. Well handled complaint.

Very popular today large party of ladies celebrating a birthday and large party of walkers. We asked for different table to enable us to chat with our friends. This was done for us but as they were very busy we ended up by the door and it was a bit cold on a very frosty day. This was NOT the fault of the friendly staff. Meal was very good as always, that is why they are always busy.

You get what you pay for, so expect higher prices than the normal pub so pay up and enjoy the food and ambience of a spacious country pub surrounding. Disabled toilet good. No signs for wheelchair access to pub.

Such a gorgeous pub, fab beer, lovely staff and yummy roast dinners! The manager is really proud of his establishment. We had a little wonder around when we first arrived and was so surprised to see how many rooms there were, there's a room for every occasion! I will be returning but next time with some friends and family - it's a must visit!

Really nice pub. Great food and good selection of beers and wines. Plenty of outside seating if the weather's nice. Had Sunday dinner here a few times, would recommend booking and the beef!

Went here with 5 other people and a dog for a Sunday lunch, we did book in advance but it's not essential to do so.
5 people had the Sunday Roast option and all of them loved it. I had the fish & chips and it was very good, one of the best I've had in a pub.
The place itself is really nice, and very family friendly as well as dog friendly (which is a must for me). The staff were all really friendly and happy to help with anything. Would definitely recommend it for a great "gastro-pub" experience.

Brilliant local pub with amazing grub, especially the Cheese & Onion pie. Lovely place to sit out and enjoy the summer evenings. Lovely staff, warm & welcoming atmosphere and dog friendly which is a massive bonus to us dog owners. Claire & Riley ( the Dog) x

The food is always good quality and is reasonably priced. Often a good variety on cask. Well spaced out tables for dining and plenty of room in the garden on a nice day. All the staff are friendly and professional. A very good pub.

Perfect country pub. Andy and his team do a fantastic job. Very busy so book a table to avoid disappointment and a wait. Very accommodating and will answer questions about their menu without any issue. Great menu, and fantastic Sunday lunch.

Beautiful location and the making of a fantastic experience. Lacking in customer service and experience. I was effectively treated as a criminal for eating outside on a summers day. All you need is a card terminal outside and stop asking your customers constantly if they have set a tab up at the bar. This is from table 23 on Sunday gone.

Fabulous food. Great service. First time in a long while we've cleared our plates. Love the idea of a small pudding with a tea or coffee. Just the right size after a big main course. Will definitely be back.

Service and food were excellent. There is a wide selection of gins to choose from. The menu is varied so something for everyone. I had the asparagus, feta and pea quiche with new potatoes. Delicious. My husband had the soup and sandwich which went down very well. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Can't wait to return.

Part of a small restaurant chain but very country pub style ambience. Tastefully laid out and nice atmosphere. Food of great quality but can turn out to be more expensive than similar pubs. I would not hesitate to visit here again. They also give out meal vouchers which can make another trip very good value indeed.

We had just finished our circular walk in the green Cheshire countryside on a beautiful sunny Sunday and fancied a cold drink so we detoured to the Bulls Head pub. Having recently reopened due to the Covid-19 lockdown we had to enter the pub first to give our details for check and trace and then were escorted to a table. We decided to go outside as the weather was quite warm and we were at first only going to have a drink. Each table has a QR code on which you use your phone camera to scan and you are taken to the menu where you choose your drinks and any food and pay online and they are brought to your table. All this made us feel very safe as they were following government advice. We have visited some places where no one is following the advice. We chose 2 pints of San Miguel and were tempted by some starters of garlic prawns halloumi fries and 2 portions of chicken wings. No sooner had we completed the order online than two beautifully cold pints of San Miguel were brought to the table served in proper San Miguel glasses see photo. They were so cold that we had to put them straight down on the table after taking them off the tray they were brought to the table on.
Soon after the food arrived. Gorgeous!!!!
Juicy garlic prawns in butter. So tasty. Halloumi fries with a peppery sauce and the beautifully cooked chicken wings covered in a sticky barbeque sauce. All these accompanied the drinks perfectly. Unfortunately I was driving home or I would have had another drink!
Thank you for a lovely end to our Cheshire walk. We will be back to sample the rest of the menu. From what we saw being brought out it all looked fantastic especially the Sunday roast dinners with 2 Yorkshire puddings and gravy!7

Lovely
