The Bull & Barrel - Restaurant & Bar Reviews

The information that I was given was a little misleading for the birthday package that I won. Other than that, the place is pretty fun, I'd like to go back.

Fu Manchu (the mechanical bull) is one of the bigger draws to the B&B on a Friday night; just remember to dress appropriately despite potential protestations to the contrary, you know you are going to want to go for a spin on the bull before the night is over! (So you can say been there done that ; and for sure it is a real Hootenanny!)

Other days of the week, less expected as far as entertainment goes -- is the dueling pianos, dirty bingo and trivia nights;

Whereas the menu has some yummy highlights (such as over 42+ Sauces including Yukon Gold, Chimichurri - for sampling with all you can eat boneless wings), and something about the root beer baked beans just hits the spot on a cold day when desiring some good old southern cuisine;

Still on my list of things to try (not) is the Grilled Mac N Cheese Burger described as an 8 oz patty between not one but two grilled cheese sandwiches loaded with mac n cheese.

More to my liking -- Wednesday nights make for a fun low key mid-week date night or bring a posse of friends for some giggles over Tacos & Pints and free line dancing lessons 7-9 pm ($1 Tacos & $5 Pints)

Not really into Country but not a bad little place. Definitely looks like a meat market if your out, single and trying to pick up. The funniest thing is riding a Bull

Prices were ok, food was good. Bathroom was clean and newly renovated.

It was our first time in the All you can eat.
1. You can't move the stools to a different place in the bar.
2.If it's your first time here no one will explain you how the sauces thing works. The waitress just gave us a bowl with unsauced wings, we didn't even realize we've already ordered.
-Someone else from the bar told us we have to go and look for the sauce bar. The waitress was too busy to explain us.
3.Even though the wings are good quality with lots of meat. Half of my wings were raw.
4. We ordered a Budlight pitcher and it was almost $20 dollars. Like, it's okay, but if you go to any other bar you can get a premium beer pitcher for less than that.

Conclusion:

You might better go to Jack's on Thursday. They have $19 cents wings after 8pm.
We usually go there and order 4-5pounds of wings plus 2 beers. Everything for less than $20 dollars

Great wing night on Tuesdays! All you can eat and a pint of beer only runs you around $15. Best part.... They serve fries with their wings! Also come here often on weekend nights for a bar night. Good drink specials, good mixed crowed, and large bar. Service is always decent!

Beers are $8 and food was good for a bar. Had my Leatherman multitool taken away, doesn't have a blade but I guess the pliers ?? Could be a weapon.

Great food and the all you can eat wings on Tuesday is amazing

We ordered from this restaurant on skip the dishes and the food we received was absolutely horrible. The chicken was dry and chalky, but somehow also rubbery. The salad was browned and obviously past due; in addition the waffle fries were soggy as if they had been sitting in a hot paper bag all night. Avoid this restaurant if you want be healthy, if you want good digestion or if you desire clean food. We came here to London from Texas and we can tell you one thing for sure: this ain't the way it's supposed to be done.

update: Got our refund from skip the dishes and we still feel robbed.

I have found the service, and the food quality, to be just average. Better spots to go in town.

Having dinner before the London Lightning Game...great staff and service!!!..will be back soon...probably before the Knights game...

The service at this resturant is completely insulting to the food industry. The service was extremely slow. The waiter took way too long to take our order and way too long to bring our food. Our food was also cold. Never would come here again. No sense of good customer service in any way.

EDIT: I visited this resturant a few days back on Tuesday evening. My review is more than valid. I'll never be back. Thanks for no professional customer service.

Edit: Owner did not seem to even read the emails sent to him as his replies were all contradicting. So I have tried to call and haven't heard back. I assume that his responce to this review was just to make people feel they rectified the situation. Which they have not.

Absolutely horibble service when it comes to there birthday packages. Everything they said was contradicting. They said everyone must show up before 11 PM but when guests got there they were pressured to change the party details and then had to wait at the door for an hour out side the nearlly empty bar because that was the earliest they could get them in. After which the waitress was rude and accused us of lying until we showed them all the emails setting up the party.

While conveniently located to downtown, it u fortunately doesn't offer much. The food tastes like it came out of a box and dropped into a fryer. The design and layout are dark with very few windows. There are much better spots to grab a beer in the downtown area.

It was a great experience going out to Friday night's Latin night! The crowd was respectful, wasn't over crowded, the DJ was wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to anyone else to try out. When I first got there, I thought the cover price was a little high considering the bar was empty and waited 1 hr before the music started because there was a game on! Overall, I would go again and the cover was worth it in the end.

Not much of a country bar. Yes they play SOME Country music but they played a lot of crap too, not only that, you have to pay to ride the bull? Common, big city like that should be able to afford to run it without charge.
The service was amazing though! Lady's were very nice and speedy! Don't think I'll be returning.

Very unimpressed with the quality of service and food on Sunday night. Received an email to come in for my birthday for a free meal with a party of 4 or more and to message to owner directly for reservation. Messaged him on Saturday twice and got no reply..messaged again Sunday with no reply. Got to the restaraunt and was told by our server that the birthday deal was only for fridays and saterday but that the "big boss" was there and she would go see if thete was anything he cohld do to help...she never returned with an answer. Was later aproached by the "big boss" to see how things were, we mentioned the email and while he walked away he said he was away on the weekend and would "get to it tomorrow". Today i received a message that simply said.."sorry just seen this" going back in forth a couple times anout being unhappy with service was just told in short that the birthday promotion was for friday and sat only..and felt i was spoken to rudely. Furthur more we all ordered the special which was fried chicken that came with very overdone potatoes and about 3 carrots for 15.99. Was not very good at all. Wish I could have had a better experience as the email hyped me up to want to check it out...sadly never again

Great Nachos and a great comedy show hosted by Jordan! We didn't ride the bull but if you're into that you'll have a great time!

A co worker gave me a gift card for this restaurant...The steak salad....pure euphoria...never tasted anything like it.

Terrible customer service, the staff made the birthday girl cry and all the guests at our table feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Go somewhere else for birthdays/events, this place does not care about accommodating an event group.

Also, my service up until we ran into issues was terrible, I had to ask the waiter multipule times to bring me my drink.

1.50 beers are really small, but I get it lol. Food was delicious music was good.

Always have a great time here. Food is amazing and you get a good portion for what the price is. Great wing nights also!

Was there for superbowl. Our server (Chloe?) was absolutely fantastic, the wings were great, and the beer was cheap. I will be going back.

Only downsides were the small menu and the sauce station. Sauce station is a cool idea but to walk from one side of the restaurant to the other just to get a new dipping sauce everytime was kind of weird. I got the all you can eat wings so anytime I wanted a new flavor had to go get new sauces. It was a small menu but the food was damn delicious. We had the mac and cheese triangles which were surprisingly tasty. My mom had nachos which were a huge serving size and had tons of all the fixins on there. Would definitely come back.

Came in for a drink before a concert at Budweiser Gardens. Place was packed but service kept up and was good. Would recommend.

Staff all look miserable and service was slow. Entertainment wise the bull is the best thing about the place

A fun place to eat. Food was excellent, they have the best BBQ in London. Regular menu features burgers, ribs and brisket that is to die for. They also have a monthly feature menu that will keep you coming back for more.

Didn't find the chicken wings all that great for all-you-can-eat Prime to be dry didn't taste like chicken wings anyhow Wanted only salt and pepper couldn't get the salt and pepper out of the bottles the bottles were dirty the table was dirty didn't enjoy my beer out of a mason jar I like it out of a pint glass mason jar you don't get a full Pint they need to clean it up the waitress was a pain in the butt bothering us every 5 minutes other than that I won't be coming back

Went for dinner. Took 30 Minutes. We were the only patrons inside. The food was missing a few components that were described on the menu. Server missed many steps of service. Food was good. I won't go back.

Heard very good thing about this place and they are all true great staff amazing service!

Although the workers were a little rude to a family with a little kid the food was great and for a good price.

Went for Tuesday wings day and tried to reserve a table a week in advance, but they said they don't do reservations. However, when we got to the place, there was a table that has "reserved" on it. We asked about it and we got a lame excuse (lie). So our big group of 14 people had to sit in the bar and they wouldn't even give us enough chairs... the bartender had an attitude when we demanded a chair since some weren't taken. He's reasoning was "that's for that table" ... which doesn't have a paying customer yet... then at the end of the night our team nearly missed our game because they took over 20 minutes to bring us our bills. Wings were fine.

A reply to the owner:
That policy doesn't give you the excuse to give us terrible service. When we spoke to someone about the reservation, they said you can't take reservations but can quickly move tables and chairs around... where's the consistency? That is exactly why most eateries have "no reservations for groups under #" policies, not blanket "no reservations" policies. It was chaotic all night for both guests and staff.

We also had a gift card from you guys and had never used it until last night, and your bartender said, "it was never activated." One of our friends was also charged an extra beer, and we were treated the whole night as if patronizing your bar was a hassle for you (which it likely was, due to forcing a huge group to spread along the bar with no set server).

Ordered food from Uber Eats last wek. Delivery time was fine, but every piece of the order had something wrong with it. First, the drinks were warm. I understand that when delivery, drinks wont be ice cold, but it was very evident the drinks had not been in the fridge at all. Wings were saugey and under sauced. The meat from the chicken wrap was undercooked.

The part I was most disappointed by was the drinks. Whoever from this place put the drinks in the bag had to have known they were warm and just didnt care. Horrible.

Never ordering from here again.

Had an awesome night. Our waitress was fantastic wish we got her name. We were sitting in the corner large Jim beam booth who ever you were you made our night. About 20 people in our group. Drinks were never empty and food was great.

Was not very busy. Was told that it's busier on Fridays when there is a Knights game. Music was really loud if you had a table near the dance floor. Ordered a drink and never got it. My friend felt like the drinks were expensive.

Super loud and dark. A paradise if you like country pop music.

Came for their advertised all-you-can-eat wings at 8pm, the rate of serving was so slow, we only got ~6 wings after the initial batch before they closed the kitchen. They gave us a drink for free to compensate but it still sucked.

Was there for the Harry Potter Pub Crawl it was awesome. Great music

Awesome bar, great mix of tunes, drink prices aren't ridiculous. Watching people get tackle the mechanical bull is a riot.

The entire restaurant had a similar smell to a porta- potty which was quite off-putting. It was the only place open on Boxing Day, so I stayed for a drink before my train. Once my drink arrived, I found out they didn t have fruit (limes). But they didn t tell me ahead of time. Probably won t return.

Service was quick. Waitress was moderately friendly. Owner seemed unimpressed with our bull riding skills, but we weren't very good anyways.

Overpriced and small portions. Beef brisket was very dry.

RESPONSE: Thank you for responding, I specifically asked the waitress if I could have wings sauced by the kitchen and she said no. If this is an option that they should be allowing I will definitely return, the wings were great i just was not a fan of saucing them myself.

I went to Bull and Barrel for all you can eat wings, to my surprise they brought out unsauced wings and directed me to a table with about 20 bottles of sauce on it. I was open to the idea, I thought i could try a ton of different sauces without having to commit to the usual 5-10 wings with that sauce.

However I soon realized that there was no decent way to sauce the wings they provide little cups to take the sauce back to your table but I was unable to sauce even 1 wing to the quality that a kitchen staff could.

The wings were quite good but having to sauce my own wings ruined the experience for me, I don't think I will be going back for the all you can eat wings here unless this changes.

The country vibe brings out my roots and a good time, yee-haw!

A great place to go and get in touch with your country side while in the city. Food is very good, with many meals and sides to choose from. You will definitely be full when you leave. The staff is friendly and always making sure you have everything you need. They have the ONLY mechanical bull in London. Daily specials, like all you can eat wings for $10.99 on Tuesday's!!! (And the wings are GOOD). Trivia night. Entertainment. I will definitely be back.

The food was really good. The service was good also. The only complaint I have is that as I had won dinner for my birthday month, the email I received had implied (at least to me, and never said it wasn't included) that dinner was included for my guests, which it wasn't. It was a large bill which we weren't expecting. If you're going to offer this kind of giveaway, things should be much clearer right off the bat.

My wife and I went for all you can eat wings tuesday. On entering we were not welcomed well when we informed of our reservation. Both the waitresses were rude, unwilling to take orders and help us with any kind of service. They made us feel to leave the place . The reason for 3 stars is because the food was good, the wings were of good quality and tasty. The taste of the wings was not overwhelming it was the right amount to enjoy the taste. Though the orange juice and ginger ale didn't taste rigth.

While visiting this establishment with my wife our coats were robbed. Upon informing management I was aggressively removed from the establishment. Poor management. No follow up. And worst customer service in the market. Highly suggest going somewhere else.

I am very disappointed my friend and I both won a birthday package. I called a few days in advance and asked if our table could be beside each other I was told they would try there best. When we arrived it was empty and they did not have our tables beside each other. The waitress was very kind a quickly put out tables beside each other. We ordered the food was nothing special the prices were quite expensive and drinks even more expensive. When we received our bills they had added on a tip to each bill because our table was a large group. We had 2 tables side by side but they were not connected! They charged each person 18% tip we questioned are were told that it was due to the size of our group.

Google allows you to update your profile for private functions. Maybe try using it to save people the time of doing research and coming to your establishment, especially on a Tuesday. #lame.
