The Brighton Baths Cafe Review

Amazing location with views of the beach and the city. Food was delicious and perfectly complimented by the beautiful staff.

You can walk or ride along the boulevard in any direction and there are many places along the way to stop and enjoy the view and this area is no exception with it's nice Jetty to walk out on and a great place to get something to eat or drink.

I did not spend to much time inside apart for a quick drink at the bar and went outside to admire the view and enjoy peace and quiet and watch the world go by. It is a truely beautiful place

Very nice food reasonably priced not so much for kids

Its basically swimming in the sea with an above board walk & some lap lanes. There is a steam room and change rooms which arent open during covid. Some of the lane ropes could do with a good clean. The staff were polite and friendly. If you want to try lap swimming in the sea this is an interesting place. It would be a great place for families on a summer's day.

Seafood spaghetti was watery--or oily. Couldn't even tell. So called 'large plate' was tiny and a grown man definitely needs more than that to be full. And that was for 25 bucks.
Ceasar salad was all right but way too much dressing and bacon. However if you are a meat lover you might find the salad quite delicious. 4 bucks per cup. 17 bucks or so.
Wedges was quite good actually, crispy hot. On the menu I said it will be served with aioli but it was served with Greek yoghurt. BIG DEAL. 11 bucks. We really enjoyed this snack.
Flat white was good and probably the best flat white we've ever tried.
Overall service was good.

Good burger. Great location. Terrible service... Orange juice never arrived after asking few times.

Over priced self styled trendy zone. Extreme people from druggies to weirdos - part of the mystique you could say.

Grubby place and very busy.

My friend and I went to Brighton Beach today and decided to give this place a try after having read positive reviews about it. We ordered roast salmon fillet & seafood spaghetti. Since many reviews highly praise seafood spaghetti, we were a bit let down as its taste was just average & acceptable and did not live up to our expectations at all. The salmon dish was another disappointment. The small portion did not justify the high price of this dish while the taste was also mediocre. Salmon was too salty and the two sauces tasted weird. Most importantly, staff's attitude left us even more displeased. There were plenty of flies surrounding our food, so we wanted to switch to an indoor table. The staff just refused our request instantly, so we had to uncomfortably eat while struggling to banish flies. Overall it was a pretty disappointing and frustrating dining experience for us.

It was ridiculously busy. We ordered breakfast it was cold. The pancakes were rubbery and disgusting. The eggs were hard and unpleasant. Never come here. Paid $95 for a horrible meal. Don't do the same mistake as we did. NEVER COME HERE BECAUSE THE FOOD ISN'T FRESH.

Always awesome, we come here weekly, although Sunday breakfast can see some extended wait times for coffee.

Beach amazing experience with modern cuisine and perfect view... Good place to chill with friends and enjoy the private beach. Recommended for travelers who are in Melbourne!!! Kind and nice staff always there to service you with knowledge!

The food was delicious and the service was great. The view of the ocean was stunning. They just need to figure out how to keep the place cool and the aircon was working on one side of the restaurant only and we weren't allowed to open the windows.

Really good for swimming, but not many pools set you back $5.40 an hour for parking.

I attended a function at this venue. I was impressed by the quality of food served. Everything I tried was good and the service was equally good.

The location is lovely as it is on the beach and you can see the city in the background. I attended on a beautiful sunny day, so the location was very enjoyable.

Do birthday here annually but this year food quality and quantity was minimal and the service abominable. Won't be here again. New owners from Last yearand Killin it!

My friends and I had a great time at the baths. Nice and relaxing ambience. Food is excellent especially their scallops with mash! The staff are very friendly. The chefs are awesome! Thank you for completing my melbourne trip!

W as a lovely meal. Out on deck was to windy on this particular day and the loo w tide was a little undesirable.

The view was stunning but the service was average and the food was below average. I had the burger and chips ( Ice Berger ) and it was without a doubt the worst burger meal, ever, and it cost $24. The bun was dry and obviously past it's use by date, the pickles were minuscule and the cheese tasted plasticky. Ohh and the meat was overcooked and greasy. Very disappointed.

My wife rarely praised feast quality from her travelling experience, but this time she highly appreciated the seafood spaghetti of Baths Cafe in Brighton Beach. The good grade and right texture of spaghetti together with super fresh prawn, squid, musslim and right seafood sauces that she did not leave me a bite. My chips and coffee also great on taste, and satisfying us before walking to visit bathing boxes.

Went for a wedding and the food was amazing and great location.

Just tried to have a coffee here. Waited to be seated sign clearly displayed at the entry of the restaurant. After 6 min of waiting in front of the sign and getting ignored by the staff I decided to leave the place. The restaurant was even not half full, the staff didn't seem to be busy! Only response to my "excuse me" after around 2 min. was "one second".
Very poor service, but when you read older reviews here it seems that they know about this problem but they don't really care about it.

I had a really good meal here with my mum! excellent service from the chef and the staff - they really look after you! We think we got great value from the lunch special.. 3 course meal + a drink for about $40 i think it was (i can't remember) . Nonetheless was a great experience and will be back soon.

Takeaway coffee experience this morning was a shambles. Waited over 10 minutes to order and then coffee took a further 20 minutes only to be cold. It was not nearly as busy as I ve seen it on other days. The staff were slow and inefficient. Such a pity as it s a great venue. The service really lets it down. So disappointing

Great restaurant with amazing views ,sea food and wine and very nice and attentive stuff.We love going there.The food is delicately prepared and delicious.Highly recommend to visit.We had Tasmanian smoked ocean trout with horseradish cream,shallots and capers ,followed by Atlantic salmon on crushed Kipfler,broccoli ,gremolata with balsamic reduction..it was delicious.The confit chicken terrine with mustarda and micro herbs followed by roasted free range chicken breast with cream corn,lardons and red wine jus was just devine.Huge compliments to the chef.Great dinner with amazing sunset view of Brighton pier.

All goods,just that many flies in this area.Not this restaurant only but all place near the beach.

Fresh bread was quite stale, definitely not fresh - not edible. The entre and mains were great but the waiters weren't very observant at all. Too focused on other things rather than glancing over and making sure that we didn't require anything such as topping up our glasses etc.... Standards have dropped a little but then again I don't think I've ever been here on a Sunday, not that that should matter....

Great place, great food and great veiws. Can get very busy and when staff are under pressure to keep up the customer service drops considerably.

Ok place on the beach in an iconic art deco building and deck. Staff are on the ball. Well stocked bar and quality wines. Coffee is good havent tried the food. All fairly pricey but pleasant enough all round. Great for drinks which is what a lot of people do.

I stunning view and good food that is spoilt from time to time by inattentive staff. Still a treat to come here once in a while.

Service is really bad. Staff just seem to walk around looking at there feet. Eventually got a staff members attention through frantic waving, only to me told will be back in a minute they never returned. Neither will I unfortunately.

Wonderful place, good food, outdoor seating, view of baths.

Food was poor and the price was super expensive. Almost 30 dollars for stale toast and a 6 ounce smoothie filled with ice cubes. Won't be going back there.

Wasn't the place with the greatest views but does sit on the waters edge. Is a very nice break location from the sun's rays and serves nice cold beverages, what else do you need?!!

Ordered a berry mix juice for $12, it came in this tiny glass and it was probably the worse juice I have ever had. Rip off place STAY AWAY!

Went there on Saturday night with 4 of my mates and got a nice spot out the front. The fish n chips was okay and the waitress was nice. However the floor manager seemed to be quite rude and tried to make us feel uncomfortable by making smug remarks when delivering food and when paying the bill.
He seemed to be giving his staff a bit of a hard time aswell. Beside that we did not let it ruin our night.

The service was slow and we had to send 2 dishes to be remade due to their cold temperature, but the view of the city and beach is lovely

Chose the deck for a lovely place to soak up the sun and enjoy the view. Even the staff know everyone wants to chill and therefore not bug you often and give you plenty of time to just sit and be. I only had a beer and the staff were knowledgeable and helped me chose a perfect one.

Seafood spaghetti is fresh and service is good. Good refuel after bayside run.

Three stars for the location. Unfortunately, that s the only reason I d go back again as the service wasn t flash. Dirty tables with plenty of people waiting, inefficient staff and high prices.
It s a real shame because it could be SO good. My advice - enjoy the location but find another spot to dine.

The food is okay but the location makes this place somewhere you must give it a try.
