The Little Ox Cafe Review

I live in a friend's house for two days, and even eat it for two days! ! ~

Just received the very best customer service from Little Ox. They went above and beyond with a delivery for a very special last minute request. Cannot rate this place highly enough. Best pancakes ever were enjoyed by the entire family. Long may The Little Ox thrive!

Decided to go for a lunch break to the Little Ox one afternoon and got the Pulled pork burger that was offered on the Lunch Menu. Worst mistake I've made all year. I am certain that the dressing that accompanied the salad on the burger was left out, old or contaminated because I suffered food poisoning for several days after the meal. Never trusting them again. As several people have already stated, they seem to not take proper precautions when storing their food.

Always top quality food. Can be a little loud inside though.

Favorite 'The Little Ox'. I look forward to visiting you again .. Every spring I come from Greece, to enjoy a meal from you!

Takeaway coffee is fine although a little bottle necked ordering in the doorway. Food is meh. Three grain porridge is bleh. Grab a coffee and keep moving.

Not a "Big" place, but Little Ox attracts a lot of people and gets busy during peak hours. Their nice and friendly staff is always ready to serve you with awesome meals. Their avocado toast is awesome for breakfast. Availability of free roadside parking (2P) is convenient to get there without hassle.

Yummy corner cafe for coffee and breakfast. Dog friendly with some nice outdoor tables.

Extremely busy on weekends, but the food is worth it. Their beetroot cured salmon gravlax with potato roestie, pickles and poached egg is probably in my top 5 meals ever. Simply incredible.

Melbourne cafe culture at it's best. Fresh and delicious meals in a family friendly, not-pretentious atmosphere. Can get lively at times, but will make you feel at home.

Cold coffee, crispy bacon was burnt and sent it back but still got charged for it. Attitude when I paid and complained was also unprofesion

Customer service was appauling. I'd rather get served overdue tuna at a refugee camp then come here again. The coffee was terrible, they claimed to be experts. It wasn't coffee, it was poo water. I've had better coffee's in Texas. You guys are dead to me. Ta ta

We had some of the best lunch here. I ordered the chicken salad which was delicious and my partner had the Buddha Bowl. The service was friendly and quick. We came during a busy period but still only had to wait a few minutes to he seated. We also had some very nice almond chai's.

this place is amazing costs a bit but the avocado smash is amazing and i wish i could have it every morning. But make sure to get their early because it gets busy

Been a few times. It s a nice warm place. Good coffee. Friendly staff. I had the middle eastern breakfast and my wife the smashed pumpkin. Both very nice. Good value for money.

Very good and friendly staff, however the menu is not varied and the meal/ingredient quality could improve. More dairy free option would be great, because removing cheese from some meals impoverishes the meals

Great selection of different menu items. We had the corn and zucchini fritters and the breaky burger. Thanks for a delicious breakfast after the Sandy Point half marathon.

DON'T MAKE A COMPLAINT OR SUGGESTION HERE!
I have been ordering "extra hot skinny latte" here and receiving "luke warm". I had put up with this for too long and took the glass to the counter this morning and asked who made the coffee and asked the barista to feel the temperature of the coffee. He said "do you want me to make another one" and I said "no, I just wanted to let you know. Upon paying my bill the barista said that I should have just said" the coffee wasn't quite hot enough and could you make me another one" then the manager chimed in by saying"yeah, it was patronising to get him to feel the coffee".

Are these guys serious? They're now telling customers (ex-customers) how to complain. Upon paying I was expecting either a "sorry mate, I'll make sure it hotter next time" or "sorry mate, the coffee is on us". Not to be! I'll not be going back and will be telling my story to anyone who will listen.

Great to stop after visiting the dog beach, grab a table outside and enjoy the massive portions and great coffee.

Late processing. You have to understand cost of time.

Can't tell you much cause we can never get a seat. Tried unsuccessfully for 3 weekends but always too busy and no seats available. Will try next time....

Really nice cafe in New Street, with some delicious food on the menu and well made coffees, which is what that area needed.

The only downside is that it's really small, so it can get packed easily, making it sometimes hard to find a table, but most good places are like that.

This lovely cafe was bought over by new owners a year or so ago, and I am so so happy that this local gem is serving delicious food with great friendly service once again! It used to be our family's local brunch spot for years until the quality of the food and service started to deterioriate about 2-3 years ago. Our go to dishes are the chicken salad, zucchini and corn fritters & the reuben sandwich. They do amazing coffees too! Please do check them out if you're in the area or just looking for a great Melbourne cafe.

Fantastic little cafe in the heart of Brighton, The Little Ox is a great hidden treasure with delicious food and incredible service. The staff at Vic Brokers can never get past the speciality BLAT. Great Work!
