It is faith that we went into this lovely cafe because the wind was too strong and it is too cold to walk. Having a short break here with a cup of Earl Grey tea and some home made cakes. The environment is gorgeous where you can see the sunset and looking out at the waves hitting on the sandy beaches. No words to describe. We were there around 5.30p.m. end of Spring. While enjoying the nature's best, the tea and cakes were wonderful. Normally we will not expect much from cafe but we must say the taste of the cakes..... Thumb Up. If you have the chance do drop by and we hope to be there once again in the future

Such a delight to be served by a conscientious Steve, after being seated by a woman who left us to read a menu but never came back to take our orders. Having gf and nf needs, he was only too happy to find out our options from the chef.
Delicious dish n chips over looking a very tired facade of an old building which could do with some sprucing up.

We were seated outdoors overlooking the beach and bathing area which was very nice. The timber seating was a little tatty and uncomfortable however. Ordered the Caesar Salad with chicken which was pretty average, with tiny bits of chicken mashed throughout, with a hard-boiled egg on top...quite strange. They had run out of the wine I requested and also the vegetables required for my friend's juice as well. Overall I would say you are paying more for the setting & view than the food in my experience.

Overall average. Stunning location with lots of alfresco seating. And That s the only reason you come here. Early Saturday morning I was walking passed so popped in for a coffee, and decided to have some toast as I was peckish.
Service was very blah, coffee was just okay, and the Vegemite toast at $12 a pop was way overpriced.

Waited to be seated sign clearly displayed at the outdoors area. Waited for 10 min whilst staff kept ignoring us and people kept cutting the cue. They just helped themselves and picked the tables as they please. We left and wont be coming back for another serve of rude awakening.

I was very disappointed in the service and overall quality of beverage we received this afternoon. Seated in the outdoor area with our dog, we ordered two smoothies, one berry and one banana. We waited for the best part of thirty minutes for the drinks to arrive. The waitress did not know which table the drinks were going to as she commented that another waitress had just landed her with them. My understanding is a smoothie has at least a little texture/thickness to it. When they finally arrived, the drinks were just semi warm liquid, with the consistency of milk. I explained the issues when I went to pay and was shocked to be still charged $20 ($10 each) for what was a very poor experience.

To be honest I never write reviews but I just feel that I have to express this - A friend and I went there for smoothies and a walk down Brighton beach. So we get the smoothies and I notice they are premixed in a milk container that they ve just poured into our takeaway cups. So a little while later I have to go to the bathroom and have possibly the worst diarrhoea experience of my life (I don t tell my friend this) then funny enough 1/2hour later she also has to go twice within 10minutes and I m like soooo are you having the same backend experience as I just have?

The rest of the day has been pretty much average for us. Thankyou for the $12 each bowel cleansing experience.

Recently dined at The Baths Middle Brighton for a 3 course Christmas Work Party Lunch. The wait staff were immediately discourteous before our party of 20 had even sat down at our tables. We also received a very unwelcoming impression from the floor manager which only became worse throughout the afternoon. An hour into the sitting and we received our entrees. Underwhelming, not particularly great food and very small portions for excessively overpriced costs. One of the waiters belligerently told me to move during the middle of a conversation to shove the plate down and storm off, the service only became worse throughout the sitting. Waiters constantly pushing through to refill glasses of Sparkling Water, which no one from our group asked for but at the end were charged $10 a bottle, completely ridiculous. At one point we politely asked to switch to tap water however were met with eye rolls! Cauliflower dish was terrible. We left quickly after dessert as our buses had arrived.

Later contacted the manager to pass on some feedback however was met with an inexcusably rude and arrogant ramble of an email back, to where he did not apologise nor explain as to why the service was so bad but instead, put the blame on us for not requesting the wine list ourselves etc and created a barrage of useless excuses for justification. He stated that he leads his staff by example and I believe this to be true, for he was the most pompous and arrogant of all. Inexcusable service and quality of food for the thousands of dollars we spent to dine here.

I d love to hear a few reasons that could justify the appalling service and experience. It is clear that the restaurant doesn t seem to take critiques nor feedback well so I m keen to see how they reply. The only positive was the great location and view however despite this I would not recommend nor return to The Baths Middle Brighton. If it was possible to leave a 0 star review I would ve done so.

Very long wait, staff lost order, did not communicate well, we asked expected time and they never returned to tell us. We left after 45 minutes without food and other later patrons served before us, no apology.

Garbage

They rip you off with high merchant (credit card) fees. There is no way a business like that would pay fees that high. Further, why aren t they paying it themselves? It s a deductible cost of doing business and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Food was good but service is slow.

The evening view of Port Phillip Bay is fantastic. The staff and service are first rate. Best of all, the meal was delicious. The Baths in Brighton is a high class restaurant and great for family functions.

If i could rate zero stars i would. The downstairs dining is absolutely the worst food experience in bayside. I paid 25$ for a hamburger that was on a thawed dried out freeze dried bun that resembled a tip top fake burger bun, it had virtually no dressing, poorly chopped tomaot piece and a slither of lettuce in it. The meat was like it had been reheated in a microwave. I literally didnt eat the meal. Its not enough to have a nice view in 2020, this was out first lunch out of lockdown. absolute joke, the menu is terrible, the food beyond lazy and terrible. Yuck. Dont waste your time or money, it was a joke.

Prices are so high not related to the food or service quality. We ordered coffee with the breakfast the cups came when we were nearly about to leave and they put the cups on the table without any plates or spoons

Ok it was MOTHERS DAY and I was looking forward to a lovely outing. Struggled to get the staff's attention sitting outside. We ordered a cheese platter that was the smallest cheese platter I could possibly imagine. There was a very thin slice of soft cheese about 6cmx2cm, one same of a harder cheese and 2 tiny triangles of a cheddar or similar that must have been 3mm thick. 6 small lavosh with the tiniest bit of apple. I so wish I had taken a photo as my description doesn't do it justice to show how little there was on the plate. I was appalled that they wanted $22 for this. When I queried the waite,r he said he couldn't help and would I like to talk to the manager? So the manager comes over and doesn't offer to fix it, offer more, no suggestion of how to help/make it better/make me happy. Just took it away. Couldn't have cared less. We were drinking champagne so we sat there and finished our drinks and nobody asked us if we wanted another - not even a hint of interest in selling us something else. What's worse is that when my husband paid, he was asked how everything was and he said "terrible and the manager was rude also." Then the man at the desk said I AM THE MANAGER (so the person who came over to help us at the table wasn't even the manager in the first place).
SUCH BAD SERVICE and VALUE.
I was so so looking forward to making this our new "go-to" cafe and was going to try the restaurant upstairs next but won't bother.

Great location and friendly and welcoming staff they get 5/5. But the food is not up to scratch. The Chef needs a few lessons in seafood dishes and $13 for a small bowl of wedges is a crime! not value for money but good view for a coffee or a beer!

It wasnt a great experience. The food was ok. But way better than the service we received . We got our table nobody came to check up so we went to place our own order . Our drinks came out wrong had to correct it , and then nobody came to check if everything was Alright. One of the meals i ordered didnt come out and then nobody cleared our lunch plate I got a dessert i didnt order. I wouldnt suggest people to come here not great experience . Should have read the review before coming here. Truely gutted and disappointed that i brought my Family here. Like someone said on previous comments, inefficient staff and quality of food do not match the price paid.

Lovely place for a quiet drink looking out over the bay or a light dinner which we had.
Efficient and unobtrusive service
Fresh and we'll presented food
At the upstairs lounge
4 plates (one we had twice it was so good) of food and drinks(over 2 hours)
$120
It isn't cheap eats but for the service location and flavour it is fairly priced.
Brilliant and highly recommended now that downstairs closes at 5pm

We went with a group for a birthday. The view is spectacular but was disappointed from there. I had two drinks at the beginning of our lunch and was never offered another. We Later managed to call over a waitress and was able to get a third drink. My wife unfortunately never received hers. The food was ok but for the price it was not good enough. I had not been for a while and used to think it was a great place for a meal, I left today thinking it is over priced for what we received and the service was very poor. We suggested the venue for the family members birthday and regretted our choice.

Great location nice food (well rolls were a bit chewy) beautiful views and good stuff but not great. Brought us beer we did not order and had to wait quite a bit. But if you no in a hurry savour the awesome bay views

Doesn t impress for the food, but it is a great view though, food looks better on the pictures than their tasting, which is not the best experience. Coming from Brazil, we have better food and gastronomic tradition, so, hard to evaluate.
