My husband and I really love this place. They change up the menu frequently which is nice. We like trying new things. We haven't had anything we didnt like.

The Blue Duck has a nice atmosphere and clean. If you would like pork this place has all you need. If you don't eat pork there's not very much to choose from. The servers are very , do not have a complete understanding of their menus when it comes to gluten free. The gluten free menu it's not very helpful when understanding whether or not it's been properly prepared. I'm sure people enjoy this place it was just not for us.
"Ain't nothing wrong with that" loved it! I'll be back just for that drink! The food & service were also very good.
I Had the blue cheese burger& frys the quality, presentation, flavor, and consistency was great. I had a a great visit and would recommend this to everyone who loves a good environment and great food!
Delicious food. Service lacked quite a bit to be desired.
Food was excellent and came out in good time, but it took forever just to get water and our entire group of 8ish people had to go up all at once to place our orders at the bar which was frustrating and cumbersome.
I would go back and give them a second chance, since they are pretty new and the food was great. Maybe a good choice for grub hub orders.
We thought this was a "fancy" place for some reason. It is not. It's nice and casual inside with rustic accents. Great food, great service. Variety of food. Affordable prices. Will defintiely return!
I had the DLT, very tasty on this cold winter's day!
Everything they make is amazing! (And I mean everything!)
Best fries ever, fantastic food and great drinks. The first time I went I came back the next day because it was so good.
I was excited to try this place out from the reviews I read on here, but after my experience I wish I never went.
Walking into the resturant, it was not busy. I was one of 4 2 table groups and 1 person at the bar. There was no one to greet me until I walked up to the front and asked for a table.
My waiter at first was pleasant but then that was about it because I rarely saw him again. I was sandwiched between two other table with 2 people each and they got served better than myself.
I dont know if it was because I was by myself and writing things for work , but because of myself being alone I didn't really get any service. For example, I didnt receive any silver ware. Didnt receive any check ups unlike my two parties to the right and left of me that got asked for refills, information why their meal was a little wait (while I had to wait for 15 mins with no notification on why the long wait) no offer for dessert and no offering of a box for left overs. I was only spoken to when entering, when sat, when ordering, when food came out and when the check came out.
What bothered me even more, I had my debit card out for 5 minutes in plain sight and stacked my dishes for easy clean up, my waiter chose to go to the other two parties and cleaned their table while mine stayed there even after I got my check. He literally was right next to me and as I tried to get his attention, he deliberately walked away and spoke with the other parties excessively and not even a check in with myself. Remember I am right in the middle so I couldn't be missed.
One of the best things when trying new places or going to other food destinations is the experience while having a good meal. In this place I was a nonexistent customer that was in an establishment that based on the service doesn't want back. On an outsider looking in, unfortunately I was the only person of color in between two causcian parties and if they saw the service I had, preference based on race would possibly be spoken of.
For me, I view it as a loss of business and that every person no matter alone, how they look etc...deserves to be treated equally from start to finish. Hopefully they hire servers that can reflect that.
Good, locally sourced food. I had the duck sandwich and my wife had the chicken sandwich. We enjoyed both very much.
Food was great as was the service. The bacon fat fries were delicious, so was the chicken club. Can't wait to go back and try more things!
Blue Cheeseburger was awesome. Miss the one in Washington that is gone now. They were super patient with my aging grandmother. Highly underrated establishment.
Yummy and they have board games. Drink beer and play what do you meme. The bathroom takes a 5k to get to.
The brunch is simply outstanding! Great atmosphere. The pork steak is a must try!
Duck fried rice was delicious. Came with what seemed to be almost half a duck. Pork belly cheese fries were huge and terrific. We will be back
Wasn't too impressed by the burger but whatever magic they put into their pork belly is . Tempted to give 4 stars but the fried pork belly + pork belly fries together deserve 5
Great food. Great service. Try the octopus. It's really not that intimidating.
Excellent Covid safety procedures. They wipe down all their menus and pens after someone uses them. Their waiters were wearing gloves in addition to masks. The DLT is a must try. Nice and sweat
This is my favorite restaurant in Maplewood. Almost everything is made from scratch. The menu provides a nice variety of comfort food but with a twist. The cocktail menu equally as delicious and unique.
Creative menu, nice staff, great location, and delicious food. Great addition to the Maplewood dining scene!
This is my first time being in the Maplewood area because I live elsewhere but come to St. Louis every now and again. First of all, some of the best biscuits and gravy that I have ever had! Would highly recommend. The French toast was pretty great too. The atmosphere was unique without coming across pretentious. The wait staff was also absolutely delightful! It's a great brunch spot that you need on your radar! It hit all the major points! 5 stars!
The pork steak with creamed corn and green beans is to die for! My husband and I lived about a block away from here for about a year and would frequently get carry out. A little pricey, but totally worth it to support local business.
Great cocktails, beer selection and excellent food.
Went for lunch opening day. Loved the variety on the menu and had amazing quiche of the day - ham and goat cheese. Great food in a simple, laid back environment. So glad they opened in our neighborhood!
Very good food, service was slow but probably because the roads were terrible this morning, it happens, no biggy. Will definitely be back to check out the next burger.
A Bald guy with black rimmed glasses made me and my family feel unwanted and disrespected us as we went to dine at there establishment. Would not recommend this place to a dog.
Every time we go to eat diner, the Blue Duck never disappoints! Amazing food and great service! Hands down my favorite place to eat in Mapplewood!
Good food and we appreciated their COVID precautions. Plus we got a free cup!
Amazing food and great service. Can't wait to go again.
Great Food. Fun drinks. The menu and the interior design are also fun. Especially if you like where's waldo
Delicious food and awesome service. Love all the tappers (used and unused)
The service was great! I had the best burger I have ever had, I recommend the same burger, Okra, and deviled egg potato salad. We will be back for sure.
Danielle the bartender/server was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. We ordered based on her recommendations. The DLT was great and the potato salad was like home. I would come back for the DLT. The Blue Duck Diner burger was cooked well but had a weird sauce I could do without. I got the single patty however the double would have been better because the meat taste was lost within bun the other burger topping. The fries were good but the ketchup was weird, almost like a sweet cocktail sauce.
Artisan crafted food, based on a foundation of smoked duck. I say a great building block, for a wonderful meal. I love the DLT. The Pork bellies appetizer is outstanding. Always a smiling face behind the bar.
Saturday s Brunch visit was a winner. Everyone left satisfied. (Eggs Benedict, Brioche Toast with apple butter and a Slinger = Yummy)
Food was freakin amazing. Falafel benny's were so good. Our server was really good. She game us a ton of advice on things to do in the city while we visit. Will try to go back, and were only here for 3 days!!!
Had a wonderful lunch today. Great food, and our server, Sean,
was excellent!!!
It's ok. Drinks are a little different, which is kinda fun but imo you should have a couple normal staples in addition....and the drinks are expensive. Like $12-14.
Great little spot with a good craft beer selection and unique food options.
I love this place. It's essentially American comfort food with a twist. They put their mark on everything they do. All the recipes are their own including their desserts. They even smoke their own meats and bacon, which is wonderful. Their people are super nice and very accommodating. It has become one of my faves in Maplewood.
Love every bite! The duck meatballs made my tear up they were so good. Sat at the bar & Randy was very accommodating. Amazing cocktails!
Interesting sandwich place with some unique menu options.
My new favorite Bloody Mary. And the burger during burger week was excellent.
Blue was amazing the and the duck was fantastic on my pallette
The food was great, our waitress was wonderful. However we had to send a drink back to the bartender. Quiet atmosphere, easy parking.
So good! We had the falafel tacos to start with the drink special. One of my friends got the Sam Elliot burger, and the other one got the chicken club, and they said they were delicious.
I got the DLT, which was PHENOMENAL, and we all got the bacon fat fries on the side as opposed to boring regular fries lol. Delicious.
I had a second drink, the Broken Resolution, which was lovely as well.
For dessert, we split the bread pudding and St. Louberry Pie, which were sinfully heavenly... if that can be a thing.
Ambiance was nice. There's an outdoor patio with a fireplace it looked like, but too cold for that now. Maybe next time.
Everyone was friendly, and our server Maggie was great! I'll definitely be back!
Hit or slight miss, but definitely worth a trip given the reasonable price point. If you're in the area and want something better than bar food but don't want to spring for Reed's or Elmwood, consider this place or Muddled Pig. Overall I think the food and drinks here often soar above Muddled Pig, but with the risk of an occasional stumble.
I've had some burgers and sandwiches from the specials menu that demonstrate strong but impressively balanced flavors and textures. The cocktails have always been expertly made - milk punch was especially tasty. They did chicken skins as an appetizer for a while and those were perfection - not at all over seasoned, quite light and crispy. I would not recommend tacos - the fillings were excellent but the tortillas were flour, and toasted in a way that made them chewy and stale; quickly drying out on the plate. (Corn tortillas hold up well to this treatment but flour must be handled more gently in my experience.)
Service is definitely hit or miss, mostly totally professional, though on two occasions I've had servers who forget every other detail: completing deleting appetizers, stating that small requests like refills/utensils/extra sauces/fresh tortillas were on the way only to need reminding much later, bringing items meant for other tables, never checking in for second drink orders.
The service was great! But the reason I give it 3 stars is because the decor is super weird ranch house and the menu is not great. They sound like OK dishes but it is like they are trying really hard to do something new and the mixtures don't work. I had waffles but they were covered in molasses and walnuts and the syrup was almost like a fake sugar sweet. It sounded like it might be OK but it was a bad mix of flavors.
Just WOW!! This food is not just delicious, it s beautiful! This burger is the perfect mix of melty, cheesiedizie, moist meat, grilled onion perfection. It s like a Big Mac on FRESH steroids. Grateful for the dining experience and sad that I m here visiting on business - I would eat this everyday if I could!
I don't know what they do to the Chinese Takeout to make it taste so amazing! Its very good.
Food was great and came quick. They make creatively named, delicious drinks in addition to knowing all the typical cocktails. Do yourself a favor and get the chicken strips and something with porkbelly. Staff were friendly, efficient and good.
Their black bean beer burger was amazing so was the Mac and cheese!
The small plates are anything but. I got the DLT. Their bathrooms are excellent.
Amazing! Succulent burger with pork belly! It simply melted in my mouth. The macaroni and cheese was incredible. The service was prompt, accurate, and professional. The pricing was reasonable and the portion sizes were more than adequate. I loved the decor and the atmosphere was relaxing. Finally, the restaurant location was perfect. I will definitely come back for more. I highly recommended eating at the Blue Duck!
Beautiful restaurant with an eclectic menu- all three of us loved our meal! Also offered a few vegetarian & vegan dishes which were delicious. Friendly & efficient servers!
Good food. Good drinks. Fantastic staff. Everyone was so nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Give this place a try, it won't disappoint.
The servers were friendly and nice. The food was awesome. I did find a beer that is hard to find and I love. Based on that want to go back. However, they reason they got a three is bc we placed a to go order for dessert. We should have checked better, however we were short a dessert. We ordered a macaroon for our son and didn't get it. We had the cookies we ordered for ourselves and our daughter, but our son's was missing. So just check your to go orders.
My new favorite brunch joint! The best Bloody Mary's and a sweeping, tasty set of culinsry selections on the menu.
Fun little place in Maplewood. In part of what used to be Monarch years ago. Nice food options with a decent cocktail and beer selection.
Great brunch in the morning and dinner in the evening. Duck fried rice!!!
Great brunch menu- really liked their eggs. very balanced draft list. the service was great as well
Really good food! We had burgers and they were amazing! The bacon fat fries were pretty good, but not the most amazing thing ever. That aside, the food is amazing! Definitely try this place out if you've never been. We will for sure be going back!
This place does a Western cooked duck very well. The meat is so tender and the flavors in each dish go very well together. My cousin and I loved the uniqueness added to each dish that was both comforting and tasty! A must have is the risotto and DLT. (don't order the side salad, it's pretty small and sad for $3)
Best Dive bar in St. Louis !! Yummy!!!! Have to try this place if you looking for a great place to eat! By far the best BRUNCH IN ST LOUIS!!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Prompt with customers.
The food has always been good here. The blue cheese burger and mac and cheese is to die for. Our waitress Maggie was pretty awesome too!
It's a great place to eat . Great atmosphere.great employees.
