They used to build good saws. The company no longer stands behind there product. I am in the landscape and tree service and used Stihl saws exclusively until last year. I purchased a new saw that lasted five minutes. They blamed me for using bad gas and refused to pay for repairs or to replace the saw. I called the corporate headquarters and explained to them that I didn't even add gas before the saw stoped working and that it was still on the tank that the dealer filled before selling. They still claimed that is was my fault. Since then I bought a 2 Chinese chainsaws that work just as well for a fraction of the price. This makes sense after finding out most Stihl parts are produced in China anyway. Wish people still cared about the products they sell as much as they care about profit margin.

The job was okay. it's VERY REPETITIVE. If you want to work for STIHL Inc. you'll have to go through a Temp Agency first (Reliance Staffing or The Lee Group.)(** Temp pay is $11 or more, depending on what shift you're working) That is how they're going to hire you. Once you start working you have to wait about a year or 14 months to become Permanent. Once you become Permanent, your pay will increase to between $16.50 to $17.25, depending on what shift you're working.

** If you get hired by STIHL directly, your lucky.

I care through reliance staffing agency,my first day was 05/08/2018 working D shift from 7pm to 7am .I get a call from reliance staffing in the morning saying and I quote. supervisor TIm Tuggle said he wanted to end my assignment because I forgot who he was and he thought that was odd .He also told her that I was struggling when he stop by to check on me,Let me remind you this was my first day and they put me on 3 machines to operate.I had high hopes for this job and now I can t belive how unprofessional mr.Tim Tuggle was especially because I got let go because of stupid reasons not because I wasn t doing my job or being disrespectful.

I have purchased numerous Stihl products. I use there oil and bar oil exclusively. Recently I have had my first issue with a brand new chain saw. It is not the problem but how it was handled. The clutch came apart causing a lot of damage after a few hits use. Stihl says my fault I did not catch earlier. There was heavy equipment running a brush fire and I was wearing heating protection After not covering the issue I write a very nice letter explaining my case to Stihl They never even responded Mabe Echo can thank Stihl for getting a customer

Stihl makes a good product but getting parts diagrams online or finding a carburetor gasket kit, fuel line kit or any kit is a joke UK websites only found. This is why you should only buy Echo which has an awesome site for looking up parts. Stihl only sucks because of the way they sell parts; couldn t even go through Zama and get carburetor gasket kit or rebuild kit see dealer, Grrr !

Good Day:

My name is Randy G. Carpenter and I am a Loyal Stihl user, and customer and have been for over 50 years. I am also an american ex patriot and American With Disabilities.

As a minority small business owner I am in contract to purchase an existing Stihl Authorized Dealership, I have my financing, have been Sthil Bronze Service and Dealer Qualified through Stihl's online training program, and have been told I was credit worthy to do business with the company.
I was turned down for this business opportunity because a new young territory manager decided he did not like me due to my being older, and already a mature seasoned businessman but not an existing dealer.

Question:
1. Is this how the Stihl Corporate Management treats loyal customers?
2. Why did they make promises and commitments they had no intention of keeping.
3. Losing Good Loyal Customers is not a good business practice.
4. Why when I personally wrote a letter to Mr. Peter Mueller, Executive Vice President (Stihl) Virginia, Beach was I not important enough to at least receive a letter, call or a response?

5.Is this how a German owned company treats one of it own customers, and someone of German heritage?

When will I receive some answers and or some assistance?

Very Truly Yours,

Randy G. Carpenter

Everything I come here the receiving guy, Chris, is always as rude as he can possibly be. There is no reason to treat people the way he does. If this is how Stihl wants their company represented they will end up in court because of people like him.

Working different departments on 2nd shift, I would say DO NOT work on 4282/4244 line.. The lead of the line is Mike.. I will give an honest review.. He pushes the line so much that it makes quantity a priority for him. I used to work on packing station. He would RARELY come back there to help or to see if everything is alright.. Everyone in the plant knows that that line is HARD to pack.. He would push the line & test cells & expects the packer to pack all those units without help.. He makes us work til the bell. (which is 11pm) No time to clean up. If the packer doesn't pack all the units, he would get mad.. The line is constant work.. I would be able to make jokes & have a laugh with other leads on different lines, but Mike isn't the guy to make jokes with. He WORKS his workers... Overall, don't work on 4282/4244 line on 2nd shift..

I made my first STIHL purchase Chain Saw/Hedge Trimmer from Newtown Power Equipment (NPE) in Connecticut a dealer for STIHL. I got home and the Hedge Trimmer would not start seem to have a flooding issue faulty carb. I called (NPE) and they gave me some ideas like go to the STIHL website because (NPE) gave me the wrong owners Managua. I went through several recomended ideas after 2 hours and a blister on my finger for attempting to start the Trimmers 200 times. I called (NPE) they told me to come in Monday. I went to (NPE) Monday morning wanted a refund of new trimmer and the desk clerk was very disrespectful telling me NO refunds or exchanges even NO the PO clearly states I could return the item within 30days mind you this Trimmer does not work. I was told by (NPE) that I would have to leave the trimmer and its a warranty issue, seems unethical by any standard. STIHL has a D rating with the BBB which I foolishly did not research and I know understand why the have a D rating. They have no customer service or email response. I understand the current situation however don't sell a product if you cant support your customers.

I called the plant to get a message to someone that works there. The very rude receptionist replied when I asked if she could take a message "absolutely not" so I asked where they were located. She hung up on me so I called her back and let her know she hung up on me and she said she didn't she just wasn't going to entertain stupid questions. If that is how you treat someone on the phone I can only imagine how terribly you treat the staff.

DO NOT GO TO WORK HERE.

DO NOT GO TO WORK HERE.

Stihl fires the majority if its temps. Don't waste your time. Stihl never intends to hire the temps they use. The temps are there to be fired so no permenant employees will be fired, and only a fractional few make it from temp to permenant.

I purchased a Stihl MS 211. Why? Because Stihl for years has been the best of the best.

I am frustrated at this given moment. I might have 10-12 operating hours on my saw. The Coil module just quit working? Right in the middle of a project.

I take very good care of my saw. It has never seen rain, it always has bar lube, and I use the Stihl synthetic 2 stroke oil.

Is the coil a Chinese part?

Have you had this in other saws?

Is this a common problem?

Virginia Beach Stihl management has zero competence when it comes to orders, accounts, time management, or actual revenue generation for the company. There yes and maybe people. I wish I got paid to do nothing. There all sitting there hoping Germany is going to magically come out of lockdown and start shipping products out. USA Management needs to be proactive and force STIHL to bring all of there products to the USA where the money and customers are. Germany is a socialist knoose crushing American and Canadian Stihl dealers. There not shipping parts out and have no time references. Get Husqvarna. Sweeden never locked down and you can get there products and parts.
