The Blackwell Hotel

Our stay met our every need. Wanted to avoid the crowds of a big hotel. Check! Wanted to have a beautiful and large room. Check! Hoped to have some peace and quiet. Check! We loved the Blackwell and its non-rushed feel. The room, bed and shower were amazing and the breakfasts a complete joy (they were a bonus because we did not know they were part of the package). Highly recommend the Blackwell if you enjoy the beauty of bygone architectural beauty and the peace and comfort they provide there. Also, the hotel manager, Meredith, was always so pleasant and helpful! Don & Liz

Blackwell, Your hotel was the perfect addition to add to the magic of our anniversary weekend! Thank you for the amazing breakfast and hospitality. Everything was clean and of the finest quality. We loved the extra large hot tub towels and robes! I would have given five stars but our room was unbelievablely hot and we had to keep our window open all night long, and therefore had Sherman Ave motorcycles blaring by. I'm sure you wouldn't normally have the A/C on this early into the year so I do understand! Please note though that every single window to your rooms were open when we left the hotel-others may have felt the same. Regardless, your hotel is beautiful and we giggled as we explored your amenities!

Easy contact-less check in was great and we called last minute to get in which didn't seem to be a problem at all. We stayed in the carriage house room 9 which was the more modern suite and it was extremely roomy with nice amenities and a beautiful cozy bed. There was plenty of space to lay out our 2 weeks of camping gear to get organized. The main house itself is historic, old, and well maintained with art and updated furnishings. The breakfast in the morning was home made with eggs scrambled with peppers, onion and sausage on the side. My wife loved the cheese Danish and the coffee. This place is right on the main strip of cda so easy walking distance to any restaurants worth going to. Worth noting is that our host did not wear a mask while preparing food or around us, if that matters to you. Overall, we would stay again!

We loved the Blackwell Hotel SO MUCH! The house and grounds were immaculate so well done and so well kept. The place could not have been any cleaner. Good job maintenance and cleaning staff! Our room (the Mansion King Suite) was gorgeous and so spacious and private. We loved both fireplace sitting spaces on the main floor in the lobby areas, and the breakfast (included with stay) was wonderful! Such a beautiful old home that felt updated, but redone and styled in a way that seemed consistent with the original style of the house. We plan on returning again 100% and have already started spreading the word to friends. A relaxing, luxurious, quiet getaway.

This hotel was outstanding. Gorgeous antique furniture, beautifully decorated, and our room was impressive in size and design. Our plan was to go out for dinner, but the amount of maskless people clogging up the streets as we passed through town was just way too much for our comfort level coming from the NW. Instead we ordered delivery and ate at one of the cute outdoor seating areas on Blackwell s beautifully lit property. We had the best time just enjoying the room, looking out the windows at all the quaint houses and we even went on an evening walk around the quiet neighborhood. The continental breakfast was absolutely delicious, they went all out to take care of their guests!

This was the most fantastic experience we could have expected. Meredith welcomed us and it was more like sharing a private home rather than a big, informal hotel. It was elegant, private, intimate, and relaxing. Just a very short walk to downtown and very well kept, we found one unexpected pleasure after another. The breakfasts were wonderful, there was always something sweet to snack on, they just pampered us in every way. Meredith totally spoiled us all weekend and made the experience over the top. I can't say enough good things about our stay and we will be back. This is the best value in Coeur D'Alene, possibly in Idaho.

We stay at Blackwell every year for my husbands birthday in December and are never disappointed. High class, eclectic, turn of the century accommodations, friendly staff and delicious breakfast included!

What a pleasant surprise. For the value you CANNOT beat the Blackwell Hotel. We stayed in the Carriage House room but we're able to enjoy the house when needed. Meredith was very helpful and the breakfast included was delish. Highly recommend.

The Blackwell Hotel is a up beat place to get married. I am a photographer and I have done many weddings in this venue and the photos turn out amazing. The Venue is up to date with a classy look . The staff is amazing . They make make you feel special .
