They have a program called KEPPT, in which they help owners ans their pets stay together without giving them up for adoption. Also they help with financial funds to pay for vet bills, food etc. Monique Hanson is a very kind hearted person. Thank you for all you have done for us ans Snickers.

What can I say? Who could complain about such a facility. Beware that it is first come first serve and you may feel pressured to take a dog that you are even slightly interested in. They do not know a lot about each individual dog. They just started a "foster to own" program. I think I would try that next time.

I don't know why people say it's ugly if they don't treat the animals badly if they weren't on the street if they weren't cold and good, I say that because my little dog nothing happened to him.

Unfriendly staff, not very interested in providing assistance when requested. Not very sympathetic on visitors looking for a lost pet.
Gave my baby away (I've had for 2yrs +) to the wrong family, never helped get her back home, when they were the ones responsible..

We had to put our beloved pet to rest and these kind of decisions are extremely difficult to do. The hard working employees and volunteers of the animal foundation show genuine care and compassion for what you are going through and your eventual loss. You're given planned options in the same respectful manner as any loved one you hold dear to your heart!!.

Do not ever, ever, ever surrender an animal here.

Do not ever, ever, ever surrender an animal here.

A few years ago we were in a tough bind, and as much as we loved our dog we thought he would have a better chance in a new home. He didn't have any behavior problems, so we thought he'd have a good chance here.

Wrong. They killed him because he had a (very treatable) skin problem.

So often I wish I could go back and reverse what happened. I wish I'd known what they were going to do. They did warn us that they were not a no-kill shelter, but they could have been a lot more direct and honest about his chances. I wish they had been more honest, so we could have said "Nope!" and turned around and FIGURED SOMETHING ELSE OUT. I just have to warn everybody else away from this place and hope for the best.

DO NOT EVER SURRENDER YOUR ANIMAL HERE. It might as well be a death sentence. Please, figure something else out.

Apollo, we love you. We're very sorry.

This shelter sucks! I lost my dog of 14 years last week or so and we went every day to the shelter and we told them who he was what he looked like and everything they said they would call us if he showed up we missed going ONE day because our car broke down but the next day we went he was there and they never even called when we asked why they said they couldnt find the chip my mom forced them to go look again because she payed for the chip her self and the second time they did find it. If not they would have put my dog to sleep without me knowing and besides that they gave us a citation i hate this place i feel so bad for all the dogs there poor things.

Have fostered many times, adopted animals, and now bringing in feral cats from my yard for catch, fix, and release program. All for free with vaccinations.

Great people who truly love and care for these animals. Want to be no kill and have a adoption free or very little cost events a lot.

We adopted our min pin from the animal foundation 12 years ago and named him Mr. Big. We didn't know when we adopted him that occasionally he would have seizures but none the less we didn't return him as it was love at first sight and the medication was not expensive. On 2/7/2020 he took his last breath and we miss him dearly. Thank you Animal Foundation for giving us the opportunity to get to know and love Mr. Big.

I love it. I got my puppies from there. It was 200$ for the dog plus all vet care. It feels like they are giving the dog for free. I took my other puppies and just with vet I spend more than 200. It so nice!

The staff makes you feel welcome to get all of them. They really love animals.

The absolute WORST adoption experience ever. First off they never answer the adoption line so you can t check if the pet is available. The you get there and there is 1 person doing the adoptions. People waiting. Takes her forever to do one adoption and what makes it worse is when she is sitting around gabbing with the staff while the adoptees wait and stare at her. One of the staff brought over ice cream sandwiches so that was a 20 minute fest of doing nothing. This was on a Wednesday. I can only imagine a weekend here. It s obvious no one at the desk cares. The most unprofessional front desk staff. If I hadn t fallen in love with the pet I would have left. I was there 3 hours. Spent 10 minutes with the pet. This review is not meant to deter you from adopting there. I m hoping management sees this and fixes these issues.

If you're going to adopt a pet, go immediately. This place is a high kill "shelter". They do not go out of their way to help an animal in need. If a dog gets dropped there and is trembling from being in a new environment they WILL kill the DOG.
Please check express (which means list of animals that are soon to be killed)
Pit bulls are friendly give them a chance.
This place is ridiculous. If you see a dog that you see potential in, please adopt immediately. They will not blink an eye when it comes to killing the dog. This is nothing but the truth.

This is a horrible excuse for a "shelter" A friends dog got out while he was away on vacation. Now his dog was not only microchiped, but also rescued from this place. This place never contacted him about his dog being there, and after numerous of people searched for hours to find his dog we found him online on their site. Several phone calls with the same answer claiming the dog was gone. The owner finally got home and was told they killed his dog this morning. This place does not care about your pets or any other animal under their care

Our Dog was suffering from a non treatable tumor, she spent 13 years with us before we had to put her down. The staff was extremely caring allowed us into the comfort room where we spent our last moments with our dog. Everyone was fantastic especially with limited access due to the pandemic.

I took in a stray cat and this Clinic offer to Spade and rabie shot her for free, and we could chip her for $20 ! My grandson and I were very excited, come to find out after they shaved her and opened her up to do surgery she was already fixed and already been chipped! All my people that had a chipped who left her starving and in the cold had a 24-hour period to claim her, I understand but that was so not cool. I guess my point is check for a chip before you have anything done to a rescue or stray animal we did get her back we love her and we thank the clinic for their services

The shelter Is clean and animal kennels are in really good shape. It's a big facility with lots of animals and you may find your companion here. The problem for me was the prices are on higher end for a shelter adoption. Mine was $200 and then they told me they don't have dental and can't treat his ear infection and I need to pay outside for the booster of his vaccines. So basically they put the poor animal to sleep to neuter and soon I have to take him to vet and spend couple hundred on him again put him to sleep again for cleaning his teeth and spend money to bring him up to date on shots and heal infections. That adds up . If you want people to rescue shelter animals how about work with them. The impression I got is they want the money and profit more than they care about poor animals. The staff is generally nice but they work painfully slow. If you want to meet the dog make a line in death heat outside for half an hour until one of the staff members slowly walks towards you asks what you want. The volunteers were much more eager to help. Staff members are more interested in talking with each other and on phone and taking their time on job.

About The Animal Foundation

The Animal Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the largest animal shelter in the state and has been serving the community since 1978. The foundation's mission is to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals in the Las Vegas Valley.

The Animal Foundation provides a wide range of services to help animals and pet owners alike. One of their primary services is pet adoption. They have a large selection of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals available for adoption at any given time. All pets are spayed or neutered before they are adopted out to ensure that they do not contribute to overpopulation.

In addition to pet adoption, The Animal Foundation also offers lost and found services for pets. If you have lost your pet or found a stray animal, you can bring them to The Animal Foundation where they will be scanned for microchips and checked against their database of lost pets.

Another important service provided by The Animal Foundation is their low-cost veterinary clinic. They offer affordable vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, dental cleanings, and other basic medical care for pets. This helps ensure that all pets in the community receive proper medical attention regardless of their owner's financial situation.

The foundation also has an active volunteer program where members of the community can donate their time to help care for animals at the shelter or assist with events and fundraisers throughout the year.

One unique aspect of The Animal Foundation is its commitment to saving all healthy and treatable animals in its care. This means that even if an animal requires extensive medical treatment or behavioral rehabilitation before it can be adopted out, The Animal Foundation will provide whatever resources are necessary to give that animal a second chance at finding a loving home.

Overall, The Animal Foundation plays an essential role in promoting responsible pet ownership while providing critical support services for both pets and owners alike within Las Vegas' communities. Their dedication towards improving animal welfare through various programs makes them one-of-a-kind organizations committed towards making this world better place one paw at a time!
