I think they could be much more professional at least when I was there. Our experience was not too bad, but it sounded to us like the guy before us got a ear full of attitude didn't sound very professional at all sounded crappy.

It is a large facility with different play areas. The staff seemed to be very knowledgeable not only about the adoption procedure but also educated in the science and health part of the animals! They seem to genuinely care about what happens with these animals and want them to have the best possible forever homes.

Friendly staff I found a dog on September 28, 2019 running down Mojave road toward Boulder highway she was a sweet dog. Unfortunately I have 2 dogs and 2 cats of my own and was not able to keep dog to find the owners they took her in for her exams right away and gave me an AID# so i could keep track of her. I hope her family finds her!

No longer accepting animals in need because they refuse to make the effort to follow safety procedures. There is 0 direct contact with staff when surrendering an animal or bringing in strays and yet The Animal Foundation has turned a blind eye even after stating they processed over 300 animals just in one month. Nice of them to leave suffering animals to die in the middle of summer "to protect their staff". Heres hoping the rest of the shelters in Las Vegas aren't as heartless.

I gave them a 3 because I have a small dog at home, but we were looking to adopt another. I saw 2 dogs that could have had a home if I could see if they could get a long with my little dog. However, their policy is that they only see how the dog is with same size dogs, & I can't bring my dog around to see how they would do. I understand the policy, but parts of that policy need to be changed so families w/ dogs can see if the adopted dog is suited for their 4 legged family as well.

Everyone should adopt, not only do you get unconditional love and a best friend/baby, you can say you saved a life, you stopped that adorable furry love bug from death. That is something meaningful. A no kill would earn a 5th

The animals are very nice and sweet. They need to have s home ASAP. They should not spend holidays in a shelter and they want to be part of your life. I was helped by an associate. They can help you find exactly the right lil person(s) for you. Wonderful staff. Great place to adopt.

The staff is friendly and always ready to answer your questions. I had to surrender my cats over 5 years ago for a small fee and found them homes. I recently lost my chocolate blue nose pit and they have been very supportive, they archive photos on their website of all animals found updating every 2 hrs. All donations are well distributed to keep the animals as comfortable as possible. Low price clinic with quality vets. Highly recommend you bring your pets here for any medical needs.

I keep coming back to this shelter located in mojave St. in Las Vegas because once I did found my other half. She was a mix of a golden retriever and a chocolate Labrador breed... I missed my chance that day, next day I showed up she was gone. $50 for adoption for a dog or a kitty. My advice is, "if your heart feels it's the one don't hesitate, go for it!

Although staff is generally helpful, some volunteers are not that accommodating.

Overall experience is great. Just wish some volunteers would exert extra effort for people new to adopting or fostering pets.

About The Animal Foundation

The Animal Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the largest animal shelter in the state and has been serving the community since 1978. The foundation's mission is to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals in the Las Vegas Valley.

The Animal Foundation provides a wide range of services to help animals and pet owners alike. One of their primary services is pet adoption. They have a large selection of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals available for adoption at any given time. All pets are spayed or neutered before they are adopted out to ensure that they do not contribute to overpopulation.

In addition to pet adoption, The Animal Foundation also offers lost and found services for pets. If you have lost your pet or found a stray animal, you can bring them to The Animal Foundation where they will be scanned for microchips and checked against their database of lost pets.

Another important service provided by The Animal Foundation is their low-cost veterinary clinic. They offer affordable vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, dental cleanings, and other basic medical care for pets. This helps ensure that all pets in the community receive proper medical attention regardless of their owner's financial situation.

The foundation also has an active volunteer program where members of the community can donate their time to help care for animals at the shelter or assist with events and fundraisers throughout the year.

One unique aspect of The Animal Foundation is its commitment to saving all healthy and treatable animals in its care. This means that even if an animal requires extensive medical treatment or behavioral rehabilitation before it can be adopted out, The Animal Foundation will provide whatever resources are necessary to give that animal a second chance at finding a loving home.

Overall, The Animal Foundation plays an essential role in promoting responsible pet ownership while providing critical support services for both pets and owners alike within Las Vegas' communities. Their dedication towards improving animal welfare through various programs makes them one-of-a-kind organizations committed towards making this world better place one paw at a time!
