fantastic hotel fantastic staff the only 2 down things where restraunt where food took forever to come and the bed room there was no draws and where not much tea bags or milk the good thing which fantastic was beds very comfortable and lovely bathroom and shower.

A very beautiful building on Leides Beach. Even if you are not going to stay at this hotel, I recommend stopping by for a cup of coffee / glass of beer / lunch.

We wanted lunch so chose an interesting setting. The food was OK, if a little pricy, sit indoors though to look at the art deco interior which is characteristic.

Seated here to drink an espresso, never had such a bad espresso, ordinary coffee was divided into two small cups. Did not even get a glass of water.

Very quiet and in a strategic position to go to the airport with the 197 bus and close to the tram stop .... From here you can walk to the center on foot or by bike if you prefer ... Friendly staff ... A little expensive .. . A few meters from the Melkveg theater

Value for money is very good - for Amsterdam city center. Conditions in general relatively modest, but OK. For only 56 p.p. All in all, sunny September. The most annoying is the traffic noise, but that is probably due to the location of the hotel.

Really close to museum quarter and late night dinner/bars/clubs. well designed rooms large for Europe, but a little small compared to an American hotel.

The hotel is located in city center in a perfect location, the rooms are good and big, you have also fitness but the price of the breakfast is expensive. They should include breakfast in the price otherwise you have the NH Hotel 1min by walk from the Americain the Breakfast is included.

Such a nice case. But something doesn't work there. After ordering 3 times, we finally received our drink after half an hour. We only went to eat somewhere else because we no longer saw it there.

Looking for a nice place to go for lunch. Located in the heart of the city center with lots of competive restaurants, bars and cafes. However this place has the most to offer from a place to call home when away from home to nice delicious dishes at a good price. There customer service is to standards from fast welcoming hosts to attentive waiters and waitresses not to mention the food presentation. Love it #lunch #hotels #amsterdam

We think it is a beautiful building. It breathes history. Been to dinner several times. Always a good host upon arrival. Once inside; Staff does not see the work, Kitchen is slow. Today sent away an hour before closing time because there were sick people. We would like to finish with coffee. In addition, we have seen a nice mouse hopping along our table. Until tonight we considered to book a room there on a next visit to Amsterdam but after tonight's experience we decided not to do that and not to have dinner there. Too bad too bad

I must say this was a very disappointing experience, the building was like a very poor hogwarts dinning Hall (without the candles), potentially very interesting if untilised and looked after better. It took over 45 minutes to get our starters, and then only after enquiring after them, the break between the starters and main was, extensive, and then they only arrived in twos with long gaps before the next two and then next, (there were 6 in our party) being English, the first two had tepid dinners when we eventually all started to eat. Pudding was again painful and slow, with 3 missing all together and on we were told had ran out (run after it I said)... I spoke to the so call manager, he was charming, full of excuses and refunded our puds wow! Would I go back... Nope! plenty of other places to choose from... Would not recommend this place other than the lovely young lady who was on her 4th day there...

An arrival where I am left alone with many luggage, a beautiful room where I felt like sleeping on the tracks of the tramway at each passage (less than 5 minutes between each) ... In short, appearance is flattering but the reality gives you a taste of "formula 1". You will undoubtedly find better for less stars and cheaper in Amsterdam.

This hotel is perfectly located in Amsterdam. We are both in the center and in a quiet street. The decor of the rooms and corridors is quite successful and contrasts with the other parts of the hotel and looks like a rather dated Spanish hacienda. My room was very spacious with canal views. The staff is friendly and courteous. The reason I do not give 5 stars is that the pipes make a lot of noise and I was woken up every morning by those taking their shower. For this reason I do not think I will return to this hotel

An incredible waitress, delicious boiled eggs with hollandaise sauce. Beautiful scenery. A must see.

Great hotel in the heart of Leidseplein. Room was good size but could tell it had not yet been renovated. Outdated carpets, floors cracked loudly, bathroom not up to cleanliness standards, wallpaper peeling from walls, high step/ledge when entering the room and bathroom which is unmarked and easy to stub your toes and electric outlets which you could tell had been burnt out in the past and not replaced properly. But the architecture and design of this building is something unique and special. Great restaurant and breakfast as well. Overall a great stay but next time I ll pay a little extra for a newly renovated room.

Friendly clean hotel just far enough from the major hustle and bustle in central Amsterdam

Well located on a ring canal and road.
Easy walk into the city centre. Or can catch a tram right outside.

Easy walk to the Rijhsmuseum or the Heineken Experience.

Canal trip pick up points are close by as well as a sightseeing Red Bus point.

Another plus is that an airport or docks transfer is also easy.

One of the worst hotels in Amsterdam, very bad service and the manager even doesn't have eye for complaints.
The waiters are understaffed and take a long time to bring your bad food.

The location of the hotel and the building in general are great! The price of breakfast and drinks a bit high, even for Amsterdam

A nice welcome by the super friendly concierge. We were in the junior suite and this was a nice and clean room and the balcony topped it off. Friendly staff in all bars and restaurant. The breakfast was extensive and delicious. In this hotel you are centrally located and we enjoyed the stay with the bikes borrowed from the hotel. Only disappointment was the bath stuff, I was looking forward to Rituals but unfortunately the hotel has switched to another brand and had not changed this in the description yet.
