I eat here at least twice a week which should say enough about the 9th Door, however, google wants me to write more. Friendly service and a fun bar make this a great destination for Happy Hour or a late night bite and nightcap.

Prices are high, servings are tiny, and service is slow. I know tapas is about small samples shared with the rest of the table, but the menu did not make clear how much of a dish you would get. The lamb chops with polenta was delicious, but only came with two lamb chops the size of a lollypop for $14.

Having lived in Madrid for a year, I can attest to the authentic, traditional dishes the 9th Door offers. The wine is fantastic, and the food reminds me of an upscale tapas bar in Madrid called Estado Puro (Paseo del Prado y C/Cervantes). Great for tapas and drinks before a dinner reservation or a night out. Also great for a tapas dinner!

Gorgeous, chill wine bar / cafe with a lot of character. Not a loud crazy bar, but a cool place to have good wine and have a good conversation. We just had their special of churros with chocolate, which were fantastic, and I had some full bodied red wine which was delicious. A great evening hangout experience.

We stopped in at The 9th Door Capitol Hill's on a whim on a Saturday night and were floored by how kind and accommodating the staff was. Seated in the quaint bar area, we enjoyed the lamb empanadas, brussel sprouts and deviled eggs. The empanadas are amazing!

This is my 4th visit but first time at this new location. Menu constantly changes not necessarily a bad thing. Honestly feel like the portions just keep getting smaller. Food was good but NOT great! I felt food was overpriced.. Ordered a Sangria and it was okay the taste was bland not sweet at all.... I have admit they do have a decent amount of alcohol. Not sure I'll be returning.

I took my boyfriend there for his birthday, we had both never had Tapas so we didn't really know what to expect and were mind-blown! The atmosphere is very comforting and casual yet romantic! The food was gorgeous, we tried many things on the menu and absolutely everything was incredible! I will be going back there and bringing more people to show a fun way to experience Spain and their depth of flavors in exquisite food!

Amazing tapas place! Reasonable prices and excellent flavors. The service was great as well.

Unfortunately, we were too full to try desserts but that's something we will be looking forward, in our next visit.

I had a very pleasant surprise today as I was walking up Lincoln Street when I saw the 9th Door open again! I went in for a drink and an order of their delicious Spanish tortilla. Everything was amazing, as always. Very friendly staff, tasty and authentic Spanish food and a great selection of wines. I really missed you guys. I am so glad you are back in business again!

It pains me to write this but...
First things first - the food was awesome. 5 stars without hesitation. The shrimp was divine, the mushrooms perfect, and the brussel sprouts sweet and savory.

Customer service was at best 3 stars. It was crowded - as most Fridays are. But everything was slow. Slower than normal. The bartender was obviously overwhelmed and no one chipped in to help him. Hence why we sat for a good 10 minutes before he even greeted us. Speaking of slow - I don't mind waiting for my food but I do mind when all I get is constant apologies with no solutions or alternatives. Heck, I would've been happy with a simple "let me comp one of your drinks." But they couldn't even be bothered to do that.

The 9th Door has always been one of my favorites. My "go-to" place for drinks and tapas. Now I'm not so sure.

Stopped in for drinks while in Denver for business. What a find . . . we enjoyed the tapas, but the highlight was when the chef prepared a charcuterie board with a variety of Spanish meats and cheeses. I'm not well versed in Spanish cuisine, so we let the chef guide us through the selection. The bartender suggested a couple craft cocktails that worked perfectly with our meal. Well worth a visit!

I can't say enough positive things! We had our going away party here on Saturday and Brian and his team were amazing! People couldn't stop talking about how delicious the food and drinks were and how awesome the bartender, Grey, was. The space itself was perfect also. It was a beautiful day outside and the two large, open front doors that lead directly to the bar area let us make the most of it. Thank you for making our send-off event a perfect memory that we'll cherish forever!

Great food, everything we ordered was great and authentic with an added personal touch that was on point minus the patatas bravas. They were good but they weren't "bravas" think of them more as fries with delicious dipping sauces. I will be going here again to try more of their tapas. Decent selection available for pescatarians. Try the queso de cabra con miel.

Excellent tapas and excellent crafted cocktails! The owner (and staff) are friendly and attentive. Talk to the owner about the history of the restaurant and his travels. Be prepared to spend a little money if you sample a few items but it's worth the price! Definitely will be back.

Ist time trying a spanish cuisine and was first blow away by the friendly, courteous and professional staff and next up was food which was excellent. The staff customized the food based on our needs which was a plus. Also they have a good collections of cocktails and wine. Had a tough time finding the parking as the location is super busy but the later found the complex
Housed its own parking for shoppers and resturant goers which is convenient.

I can't say enough about this place.

I can't say enough about this place.

For starters the staff is incredible knowledgeable about the food. We went there and I had never had tapas and learned a lot from the waiter.

The food presentation was art! The only thing they topped the presentation was the flavor of the food.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Denver. We will absolutely be back. I have already recommend this place to friends.

As Spanish ( from Barcelona )- I can say is not real Spanish food. Sangria is not sweet as Spain , the spanish tortilla I never had with spinach and peppers in my life - and I've lived in Spain for more than 25 years. The patatas bravas burned - in general very bad quality. And don't speak about prices...the only thing I can say it was authentically Spanish - el pan con tomate - super good.
Staff was nice and they had an idea about Spanish food.

I've traveled Spain and this is as authentic as it gets. I've eaten in some incredible restaurants over the years, but this one is my favorite. The first time I went a buddy and I got tapas and sangria (to ward off a hangover).
I revisited a second time to try the Paella with a friend, and they somehow remembered us from weeks before! The service is incredible and they have fantastic tableside manner. The food is gourmet, and the cocktails are delicious. The only thing that's disappointing about this restaurant is that I live in Colorado Springs, and only get to go here on my Denver weekends. Rest assured, this is a place I make a point to go to EVERY time I'm in Denver. Well done!

Absolutely the best Tapas in Denver! My husband a...

Absolutely the best Tapas in Denver! My husband and I had recently traveled through Spain and we were introduced to a number of fantastic tapas. Since being home, we have tried the few restaurants in Denver that call themselves "Spanish Tapas" bars and restaurants. The 9th door definitely gets our vote for being the most authentic!

Dishes that we tried...Patatas Bravas. OMG...these were better than Spain. In Spain, the patatas bravas are not very crispy (barley fried) and served with a watery tomato like hot sauce. The chef at the 9th door knows textures as his patatas bravas are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, served with amazing spicy tomato red sauce and garlic aioli. Tortilla espanola...there are many variations but the ones we had at the 9th Door was fun as the dish says on the menu, it is served with seasonal ingredients. So the chef gets to play around and be creative adding veggies to this classic. It was also served warm which is a fun twist! So simple but done extremely well! The tortilla comes with house made harissa paste and garlic aioli. This was quite delightful!

Pan Con Tomate was also outstanding...the toasted ciabatta was perfect and held the tomato without being soggy. It was seasoned perfectly too! The tomato was so ripe and sweet, it was executed perfectly. The Gambas al Ajillo were outstanding. Sweet, tender wild shrimp in a garlic and olive oil sauce. The ciabatta on the side with this sauce is something i could eat everyday! We finished with the signature Paella. The dish did take about 30 minutes to prepare but our server Matt informed us about the time and we had no problem enjoying our tapas and sangria while we waited. Once the Paella arrived, it was loaded with clams, mussels (so plump), shrimp and baby squid. The rice was cooked perfectly and the paella even had the crispy rice bottom that really sets the paella off. We were stuffed afterwards. Matt, our serve was amazing as well. He took the time to explain the dishes and his knowledge about the food was awesome!

BTW, the Sangria was outstanding! Not too sweet and definitely had a good bit of booze but was balanced perfectly. I hate the you get Sangria that is too sweet. The 9th Door was not the case at all!! Great job 9th door!! We are telling all of our friends and we can't to wait to return!!

9th Door is one of my favorite places in Denver, and sadly I don't get to eat here enough. First off, the staff and owner are amazingly kind, professional, and devoted to the experience. The food, like everytime before, is DELICIOUS. I could eat it all day, every day.

The paella reminds me of paella I had in Spain, and it was so satisfying I found myself devoting all of my attention to it and not the conversation around me. (Oops.) It's full of flavors and textures that are fantastic.

A while back they offered a lemon-rosemary flan that was rich and creamy, and every bite was like a little taste of summer. Now they serve an orange liqueur one with raspberries that is sweet and delicious.

Tapas is essentially a meal of small flavorful dishes meant to be shared with friends and family. 9th Door is a little slice of Spain in the heart of Colorado.

We went here for happy hour and absolutely loved how accomodating they were to make multiple food options vegan. The vegetable paella was exquisite! Also, the $5 sangria during happy hour is really good. Watermelon is my favorite. Waitstaff is super friendly too.

I ll be back! Everything tasted phenomenal. Had the wild foraged mushrooms, bacon wrapped dates, potatoes covered in deliciousness, steak, a sangria, and paella. Their paella is the only paella my husband has ever liked. I literally was scrapping and licking the pan clean- it was soooo good! We will be back many times.

Best tapas outside of Spain (coming from someone who lived Spain). The flavors are finger-licking good and will undoubtedly bring you back to some of the most iconic regions of Spain. Brian Murphy is raising the bar. A must in Denver.

Hate this place. (I've been here only because a friend of mine is celiac and they cater to her dietary needs.) Portions are tiny (yes, I understand what tapas means, but keep reading) but prices are as much as you would pay for a full meal elsewhere. Food is ok I guess, but nothing special, and the whole place reeks of pretentiousness. I don't appreciate spending $100 for a night out yet leaving the restaurant still hungry! If my celiac friend (or anyone else) invites me here again, I'm going to have to decline.

Loved everything we tasted here, and we made our way through a lot of the menu! The food is not only plated beautifully, but it tastes amazing. Such a good combination of flavors in each menu item. One of our favorite restaurants in Denver now, we'll definitely be back.
