We stopped here on our way home from our travels. Awesome beers, great seasonal selections. Their outdoor space made it great for my family (including our dog) to be able to spend time outside while I took the tour. They have a corn hole game, lots of picnic tables and a huge lawn for everyone.

I know nothing about their beer and will never try. I just had a truck at their company and they damaged my trailer while loading. The forklift admitted he did it but the manager said they will not pay for the damage. I called the police but of course they didn't bother to come and make a report. Lousy management lead to lousy comapanies! If this is their business ethic don't be naive and think they care about you as a customer!!!

I never been to any of there main stores. How ever I have tried there Delicious Terrapin Hopsecutioner . I am in love with this beer. OMG a beer that fits all my favorite hops in one beer and blended with perfection. I personally love this beer the best. In all honesty. I want to meet the creator of this masterpiece. TY GUYS. A brewing institution and must see when in Athens. Place is huge and a great selection of beers. Gift shop, tasting room, outside patio all compliment the hospitality resources and choices one has to enjoy the local suds.

I've had two work events here and they have never disappointed. Great beer, illuminating tour of the brewery, and amazing catering. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was super helpful and attentive. Definitely would recommend for any event. Or just to enjoy and afternoon!

The pours and selection are always great, the high gravs are what always get to me. Went for their 14th anniversary and had a great time. More outdoors space than indoors, but plenty of pou pouring stations for all. Even have out door games like corn hole and disk good setup sometimes.

A must-visit local hangout spot. Not just a brewery but a fun place to hang out and listen to live music. Also, this place has some of the best local brews with some very interesting tastes.

From the outside it doesn t look like much but inside is a fun atmosphere. Plenty of seating for smaller groups and more than enough standing room for big events. Seating out back as well but it s too warm out for that.

The beers were good, I tried the Moo-Hoo, Luau Krunkles, Up-Hi IPA and watermelon Gose.

absolutely the best brewery in the South East and personally my favorite in the nation. Their selection of annual, seasonal, and one time brews is simply amazing.

I have yet to go to Athens and not go to Terrapin. I support them where ever I go. They deserve it.

If you have never been, it is a must!

Mostly go for civic meetings and events. Once for a fundraiser for Athens for Everyone. Then for a panel on trails and biking. Close to transit, though I don't think patrons use it as much as they could.

This was my first time there. The beer was excellent, but I didn't like having to choose between being cold in their outside seating and able to hear who I was talking to, vs. being warm inside and having to yell over the live music. It was a bit loud. That's the only negative thing I have to say, though.

WARNING: This is no longer a craft brewery, but instead a part of the MillerCoors conglomerate. Save yourself the trip, stop at a Logan's Roadhouse, and have yourself a Coors Light instead...or support an independently owned, genuine craft brewery.

One of the best breweries I have ever found on my travels! Folks here could not be more hospitable and the beers are fantastic! I'm drinking the hi-5 but all of the pale and IPAs are equally as good.

Ain't bad. It's the brewery in town with "everything" and there's something for most everyone on tap. I do miss the old place and packed crowds before they got more corporate, but it's still great for easy parties and a fun weekend thing.

Nice place to hangout. Great beer selection. Nice live music. We didn t do a tour but bought an 8 ounce glass that had about 6 refills. It was a GREAT deal and provided plenty to drink with a souvenir glass!

Great beer options especially if you like hoppy beers and IPAs. The samples are half glass sized and you get six for the entry price per person ($12 + free glass) It was cool to see the brewery facilities. The tour itself is pretty laid back and not super structured.

Love the beer, love the place, love the people. God bless America and the free enterprise system that creates products and service like Terrapin. I know personally of things they do for others that only God and the people involved celebrate. Be careful how you judge. Companies like this are part of the solution not the problem.

I was visiting from Ohio because their beers are so good! They have a huge outdoor area! I was suprised they serve the beer in plastic cups, but at least they have recycling available for them

Kind of amazing that we have this little gem right in our back yard. Drink beer! Try out the seasonals before anyone gets a chance! Get an awesome glass or shirt or water bottle! Drink beer! Eat awesome food! Drink beer! Drink Beer!

...it's a really good place to drink beer. The staff is obviously on point with their beer chops and the selection is always interesting with experimental, seasonal and small batches popping up almost weekly. I think they concentrate a bit much on hoppier beers overall as a company, but what the hey. They're pretty damn awesome.

Not too wild about the beer but the environment was awesome. BE AWARE - you have to wear closed-toed shoes to go on the tour. They don't tell you that until you're already there and go to get in line and then they tell you that you can go on the tour if you put these boots on but they also tell you that the boots never get washed and lots of people but their sweaty feet in it....no thanks. This only got a 3-star rating because of the atmosphere. Won't be going back.

I mean really, Beer. That's all that really needs to be said. But in detail, it's good beer, no phenomenal beer. Always rotating taps with specials that send your tastebuds in to sheer bliss (like the peanut butter chocolate porter I think it is) and your equilibrium into inebriation. The staff there is very on point and very prompt in getting the masses their Beer. There's a reason Terrapin has been doing business this long, and it's not just the quality brew.

Good beer, quick tours, and a band all for the right price. We were there on a beautiful Saturday evening and it definitely got busy in the last hour with some pretty long lines, so get there early if it's nice out!

The brewery's signage is fairly poor if you've never been in the area before, which is a bit amusing because you've probably seen a giant Terrapin sign in one of your local bars. It's just a plain white building, with a little sign above the front door. If you get there a bit after 5:30, you'll see all the cars so it will be a little more obvious.

I live in Texas, my wife was in GA for work and brought a 6 pack of Hopsecutioner home for me, it is super hoppy and delicious. Thanks you guys for what you're doing for craft beers and IPA's

Lots of room indoors and outdoors. There are multiple options of beer varieties so your tour tickets can give a good variety. 4 instead of 5 because the taps were messing up and some pours seemed a little flat.

I worried about the Miller thing at first but someone kindly explained to me that the terms involve Terrapin continuing to do exactly what they've always done: good beer. I remain convinced that RecAle is the best beer that has ever touched my lips.

Love their beers and really enjoy visiting the brewery for tastings. Love trying all the beers they serve and the live musical entertainment on the outdoor stage. Tastings and brewery tour are a must if you are in Athens. Highly recommend!

I used to really like Terrapin, but their quality has gone WAY downhill. They've always had a problem with one-off beers being bad, but now everything is. Even Wake-N-Bake, which used to be one of the best coffee stouts around, is mediocre. Whether you're in a bar, at the store, or going to a brewery in town, there's much better beer out there (often for less money).

I found Terrapin to be underwhelming. I'm guessing because my expectations were set so high by others. They had nothing special on tap that you can get at any local grocery or package store. Their outdoor area was poorly maintained. They did have a very nice shop with lots of glass ware and clothes and their staff was friendly. Beer selection was varied and would have something for anyone. The taproom area could benefit from some TLC. Beer prices are good though. If in the area it is worth the pit stop.

Visited Terrapin with some friends from out of town this past Sunday. Admittedly, I'm not much of a beer drinker; however, Terrapin offered a selection of 10 - 12 beers with various qualities, and I found a few that I liked. It was raining outside, so we were unable to enjoy the outdoor space; however, the interior of the brewery was quite nice, the pours were ample, and the employees pouring the beers were helpful.

Our visit at Terrapin would have warranted 4 or even 5 stars were it not for a display of considerably poor customer service that we experienced towards the end of our visit. Having missed the 2:30PM tour of the brewery, we waited in the designated space for the 3:00PM tour. In total, there were about 10 people waiting for the tour when a Terrapin employee walked up followed by four guests. As he passed, the employee spoke with a mocking tone under his breath, "Looks like you guys are going on a tour; I wonder who's doing that," at which point he pushed past us, grabbed some goggles for the 4 people behind him, and proceeded into the brewery. Confused, we waited for 5 minutes for someone to come and give us a tour before asking one of the employees at the front what was going on. She replied that the guy was taking the 4 guests on a VIP tour and that there would be no further tours.

My issue is not that we didn't receive a tour, but that the employee that gave the "VIP tour" left us standing there -- knowing that we were waiting for a *scheduled* tour -- without saying anything to us. His snarky comment only added insult to injury. At the very least, he should have acknowledged us and let us know that we would not be receiving a tour. Rather, he left us to wait, to wonder, and then to figure out for ourselves.

Terrapin touts the value of supporting "local" businesses--a value which I share. More than anything, I appreciate the particular quality of customer service that you typically find at local businesses--the kind of customer service that is especially personable and leaves you feeling valued in an individual sort of way. Unfortunately, our experience at Terrapin this past Sunday left much to be desired in the way of that very special kind of customer service.

I'll admit a bit of bias in taste when it comes to Terrapin beers. They do love their IPAs, and I... Don't. If IPA beers are your thing, this is the Athens brewery for you! They have a decent selection of other beers- the Good To Gose is excellent, but the mainstays are IPAs like Hopsecutioner and Hi 5. Lots of limited batches and events. One big plus is the big back yard with games, picnic tables, and a tent, for more of a family friendly feel than creature comforts' "in town" vibe.

Check them out on an event day with your friends, buy from the grocery store any other time.

I am an ancient UGA alum and current devotee to all beers Yuengling, having lived away from The South for decades. During a March alumni group visit to Athens I was in the company of an old friend (a 1970's era Valedictorian of his UGA class & Harvard Law School grad) who will open his own brew pub in another state later this year. Following his expert recommendations I sampled several Terrapin products and savored them all. Hopsecutioner in particular "spoke to me". Kudos to Terrapin for your fine efforts. I am now a regular retail buyer of your excellent brews and aspire to a brewery tour upon my next Athens visit.
