It is a old property and it shows specially with the rooms. This is not a kid friendly place. Suited for spring break. But with higher prices. Not sure how you would qualify this as a 5 star hotel. I am sure there are better options. It is like a aging person trying to keep up with younger people. Definitely overpriced for what you are getting.

Sebastian was excellent upon check-in! The hotel was well kept and clean. All of the Covid protocols made us feel safe and comfortable. The only issue we had was the pool being under staffed. Otherwise, thanks FB for always being consistent!

Yeah, this hotel is expensive and they do charge you extra for everything, but it is worth every penny!

Every single member of the staff we dealt with was absolutely wonderful... from the incredibly nice young man who checked us in (I really wish I had written down his name so I could mention him) to the fantastic beach staff!

Stephan, Sabrin and Alex at the beach are superstars! They took such great care of us in helping us to get set up each day and checking in on us frequently to see if there is anything else they could do for us. We were treated like royalty and we really appreciate it.

Our room was immaculate and well appointed and had an incredible view of the ocean.

Just know going in that you may have to pay steep fees in addition to the resort fee for valet parking, beach umbrellas, and even for a mini fridge. Plan for it and enjoy a truly 5 star hotel experience.

Be wary of packaged reservations!

Be wary of packaged reservations!
Made a reservation for a family member with the spa package. When they got there they were told that the stay did not include spa, so they could not use it. On checkout however, they noticed they were being charged for the spa package. Turns out the check-in employee mistakenly told them that the spa was not included when it actually was. Thus, they were not able to celebrate with their requested amenities. They were originally told that they would have to pay for the spa anyway but after getting a hold of management they were granted a refund. Just a shame they couldn't enjoy the package they purchased. It was a one-time celebration.

To me this is one of the best places to stay while visiting Miami. You can indulge your self in spa treatments great restaurants and shopping and an amazing outdoor area with pool and Fitness. Downtime by the pool with fresh mojitos and good served while you don t have to lift a finger hahaha Amazing! Our little mermaid truly enjoyed the pool like 8h a day straight very kids friendly and the staff is wonderful. Julio was our waiter and he took such a good care of us. Boardwalk and beach accessible it s a magic spot in paradise. Rooms are cozy and clean . A++++++

Words aren't really enough to describe this hotel....

Words aren't really enough to describe this hotel. I have mixed feelings about leaving a review here, as there are many outrageous things that, taken individually, are crazy, but as a whole, make perfect sense in this hotel.

The first thing you'll notice is -- that this hotel feels familiar, despite you never being inside it. The hotel is quite famous, having been in several films & famous shows -- namely Scarface & for those of us in New Jersey -- The Sopranos. I initially thought this hotel was shown in Bad Boys II as well, but that may have been a different hotel.

When checking in, be sure to ask the person checking you in to speak clearly & loudly. I learned after the fact that they give you a $50 stipend on the hotel card for you to use at any of the locations within the hotel (I *think* , I may be wrong here) -- wasted opportunity. This could've went to a great steak. :-(

There are multiple locations for food, apparel & nightlife here that are worth mentioning, but I can't really say much else -- I'll probably review them on their own: the locations in the hotel are the worst places to get swimwear (we're talking $120 for swim trunks that don't even have gold on them) ... StripSteak has amazing steak & lastly, Club Liv has a great sound system if you're into that kind of thing.

The rooms themselves are spacious. I recommend doing your research on which rooms you are selecting. The rates of the room may vary depending on if you get a view of the ocean front or not. In addition, keep in mind that, there the towers in this hotel are all interconnected to keep you cool & stay inside. If you are meeting with friends, or staying with co-workers, be sure they know which floor they are on & which tower they are in.

I am not a fan of the AnyStream showerhead that was installed in the shower. It seems people don't know how to use showerheads that are adjustable. There was one rubber nipple that was misaligned causing a stream of water to fly right in your face when you're trying to wash your body -- insanely annoying.

If you stay in a lot of hotels, you'll find that the pillows here are unusually firm & make it hard to get a good night sleep. In addition, if you are someone who sleeps in a little late, or is very sensitive to any sort of light, you'll want to make sure the blinds are adequately closed -- the sun out here is bright, intense & wonderful.

It may go without saying, but don't touch anything in the trays in the room, or the bar unless you intend on being charged for that item. I was mistakenly charged for a selfie-stick which I did not purchase. I was not going to fight the hotel on this, as I had a plane to catch after getting my bill. Quite frustrating.

For those who are Jewish (I don't know how you survive the heat!) , and, if it happens to be Sabbath, you're in luck! One of the elevators in this tower happens to have a Sabbath mode just for you. No pushing any silly buttons! Pretty cool. Also, for VIP guests, there is an additional high security lock (Medeco is a well known brand) affixed to the doors. You can try to get the key card for these doors, but you won't be able to get in. Excellent to know.

There seems to be some unique controls in the bathrooms here & there. I wonder if that's to drown out the noises of screaming as you pass whatever food you devoured the night before in a drunken stupor.

For those who do drink quite a bit , I highly recommend stopping at a Wal*Mart or somewhere else & getting a case of water to bring with you prior to hanging out at this hotel. You have to travel out doors to the beach to get ice cold water with any sort of flavor. Bottled water inside is expensive. I was also informed that the 'coconut drink' that you can get outside is overpriced & not good. Buyer beware.

I don't really have much else to add, as I was at this venue for a work function. If you're single, have fun & like to have fun, this is the location to go.

I travel extensively and I stay and dine at a variety of places. Overall, the Fontainebleau needs to improve daily service and maintenance of the rooms. Additionally they need to put some money back into repair and upkeep of the rooms versus the lobby, halls, pool area and other more publicly accessible areas. I know that their focus has been to attract high profile guests, artists for concerts, etc to boost media attention. However, they have lost sight of what's valuable to business clientele as well as the typical family. The lobby area looks and feels like a rap video full of half naked people wearing the stench of alcohol and smoke. Needles to say not family friendly. The employees are not as friendly as they were 8 or 9 years ago. They do not want to help with the simplest of tasks. The TVs don't work properly either. Some channels have a Directv error message, some are in 480p, etc. Also the AC doesn't work correctly. We have tried adjusting the thermostat but it won't cool off in here even though it's November and only about 80F outside. Last year we had a suite with a microwave and frig, but they screwed up our reservation this time and there were no suites left. So to get a microwave for heating up a baby bottle is $30/day. Because of the location, it is now that easy to walk to restaurants outside of the hotel. The ones in there are ok, but definitely way over priced for the food and service.

Plenty to do at the hotel. The food was catered for my company event and all meals were delicious. I only gave it to 2 stars because out of 4 nights I only had hot water once. I complained to mgmt and nothing. I ended up leaving and finding another hotel.

I normally don't leave reviews but this experience needs to be revealed.
1) Front desk people don't respond to requests from 1-5 times
2) No fridge in the room
3) No toothpaste in a cool hotel
4) My favorite: mini bar. If you open it and hold a bottle for 20 seconds, you will be charged just for holding it. It is not mentioned anywhere but the bar has a censor so if you try to open it they will see it on mini computers. We just opened it coz it was slightly open anyway and when we did all bottles fell away. So we had to grab them and the guy told we had to pay for all bottles. Imagine how lunatic it was. Later on we settled this and paid only for the room.
Overall experience is nice.
Breakfast is not included
5) Tips at the bar and restaurants are called service charge so they already charge you 20% and ask for additional tips. Don't leave extra money and check the checks.
6) Very good beach. Anyone can come to it though=)

Amazing pool and spa experience. This place is gorgeous. The pool is huge, they offer drinks and food, and the do creates a fun party atmosphere. Lapis spa is beautiful. Top notch service and options. I did a relaxation day and a hot stone massage, it was worth every penny.

Nice beach, less crowded, water very nice and clean. Accessories for beach use was handy. We were there late in eve, briefly so kids could enjoy the ocean so maybe this was why less crowded. I would recommend this area. Close to town, hotels, boardwalk, shopping, restaurants, etc.

The front entrance and main lobby is very nicely decorated with a excellent aroma and atmosphere. The pools are all very nicely maintained and no overly sedated with chlorine. The beach is very nicely maintained as well. The service however, is not the best. It appears the majority of the staff that work are not overly enthusiastic about their role. The other big issue is the food. The food was probably one of the worst experiences I have had a such a high rate, extremely disappointing. The value of your stay really resides in the aesthetic nature of your stay at the Fontaineblaeu.

We stayed for two nights at the Fontainebleau Hotel, this place has everything, you don t have to go out to have a good time, the pools are beautiful, there s a boardwalk and you can walk to the beach, the hold pool parties, they have one of the best clubs in Miami, the place is luxurious, the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We have a nice ocean view, the only sad part was that it was cloudy for the two three days of ours stay.

Nice upscale hotel. The pools were full of people and nowhere to leave the towel in the afternoon as everyone just reserved the spot for the whole day. Still, it feels nice to be there, just not perfect though. Outside jacuzzi is my favorite spot.

I didn t stay here but visited to eat at the place called Pizza and Burger! And let me tell you they did not disappoint! That burger was the best I ve tasted in a long time it was seasoned so good! But I most add the lobby bar was jumping with a crowd waiting to get into the nightclub LIV. Nice place.

Nice in theory but I felt the hotel was rundown and staff was generally unfriendly. Hotel rooms may seem "reasonable" but everything in hotel is over-priced. Definitely a common destination for corporate events.

The Mediterranean restaurant was awesome. Not terribly expensive either. The club was terrible though. We asked the doorman about cover charges, and he responded with an overly aggressive rebut that we didn't want to deal with. Honestly, I'd rather go elsewhere. Terrible first impression/experience

We won t stay anywhere else in Miami. Fontainebleau is definitely a 5 star luxury hotel. Amoi was our server when we placed room service. She was very professional and even laid out our dinner on the table for us. She was the sweetest lady ever!

I was there last weekend for the second year in a row. I will never ever go back there again. The first night we were there, we walked around the pool and the beach. We set our bag down for just a couple minutes, turned around, and it was gone. I never saw a single person around us that whole time and I am convinced it was an inside job. They got my phone, $700, and all my credit cards. The front desk could not have been less helpful. They acted like I was inconveniencing them by asking to use the phone to cancel all my cards and call the police. Then due to my credit card no longer being valid they put a freeze on my room and didn't let me make any phone calls without having customer service give me grief every time I had them dial out for me. If you do go there, don't eat there. I had a simple breakfast with my girl and it was over $60. The next day I went to Lincoln and go the same breakfast for $20. And it tasted so much better. I had to pay $60 to get into LIV and then pay $27 a drink.

I have been very bad with putting my reviews up. I travel for a living around the country 48 weeks out of the Year sometimes things get backed up LOL

I was recently diagnosed with cancer back in May. One of the last jobs that I have done before taking time off for my cancer treatments happen to be at this wonderful Resort on Miami Beach. My boss is pretty stellar, and gave me a week there and I only had to work a couple of days. This was my last hurrah before very aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. You can't ask for a better place for that then this resort. Everyone was absolutely wonderful! Make sure they go out of their way to help you in any way possible. That included printing off 22 pages for me and not charging me anything or let alone send me to the FedEx office that's in the Fontainebleau also. It's the little things like that that matter. Everybody that I encountered seems to absolutely love the job that there were doing no matter what that was and it definitely showed in their attitude. Thank you guys so much for the wonderful last hurrah that I had! Memories that I cherish through all of this crazy that I'm going through now. Hopefully I get through this okay and I can come back again after I'm done. Keep up the wonderful work that you do, it really does make a difference to the people that visit

Great location, convenient to trolleys. Pools are fantastic! Several on location restaurants and food service on the beach. The bar area was nice for gathering. It would have been nice to have a fridge for our use instead of the fridge only for purchase items. The beach chairs are too crowded and close together.

You know what?? you have the most remarkable history I have imagined of. It all started from the time you opened up in the 1950s as a famous hotel to the time I went with my mom in 2003 or 2004. It is also from the time I visited your hotel several times in 2005 with my dad. Back then you had a wonderful pool with a waterfall and a raft ride for kids which I went on a few times. When I stayed at your hotel with dad and my grandmother I had such a good time until the day your hotel closed due to the hurricane that was going to hit that day in 2005. Then I came again after that and it rained one day. Now you have transformed into a world-class hotel despite the setbacks from the great recession before you guys opened up. Today you have the best selection of food. You are one of the first five star hotels on Miami Beach to offer people that will bring you some hot dogs while you are at the pool. You have came a very long way. Now you have world famous events and you can become even more successful by hosting renowned chef's from all over the world. Continue to succeed in what you do. As in added bonus, you know what you can do? You can open up a small on site shop that sells the best strawberry shakes in Florida and Open up an on-site doctors facility at the spa or even set up a fitness club with yoga exercises biking on stationary bikes treadmills and even Boot Camp classes. It's really a dream come true for tourists. Let's do it.
