Oh right off the bat... your hit with this nostalgia like a kid in a candy shop. Camera parts everywhere but in this neat arrangement. I love going there and everytime I go, I'm always leaving more than what I originally planned to get

One of the older men sitting in the front in the sales level was extremely rude to us. I was looking for a camera microphone. He was rolling his eyes like a teenage girl. I thought the older generation had more manners?? I ve had teenagers from McDonald have better customer service. He was trying to talk down to me because I wasn t knowledgeable about cameras. At the end I just bought a ring light and a very nice lady with glasses helped me out. Get more employees like her please!!

My go to spot for all camera needs. The staff really knows their stuff. I've had several cameras worked on here, each time they delivered with excellent value repairs. Oh, and you can drop off film for development right next door.

John, the salesman, was very patient with me and all my questions and decisions. I had an idea what I wanted beforehand after researching online. He let he handle any camera I wanted so I could compare weight, size, and grip. I am very happy with my SL2 and accessories!

4 stars for the merchandise that they actually carry. 0 stars for the classic dinosaur-business-like sleezy salesman drooling all over your shoulders for dat commission. If you need some photo gear asap, they might have it, but I cringe when thinking about going here. They don't focus on used gear, and this is too bad, because I find when a camera store has a strong focus on used gear, they tend to sell more new stuff as well. One time I was in need of a 24-70 f2.8 lens for a shoot that was a few days away. I went here to check what they had in stock before running off to amazon. I think the salesman nearly wet himself when I told him what I needed. This alone put me off so much that I never went back. I would recommend to this business owner that they hire a dedicated used-gear buyer and focus on it. Older gear is very often interesting, and sparks interest in customers, because they never know what they'll find when visiting. Oh and on a separate note, but equally valid complaint. I was looking for circular polarizer one day, and the girl that was showing me what they had told me "well, you don't really need one, you can just do it in post"... I told her, actually no you can't and explained what a CPL actually does. I really think she didn't believe me and I sorta just dis-engaged and peaced out. My point in bringing that up is that there's at least one person there that isn't a photographer peddling gear for them.

As a Full-Time Realtor that uses photography and video extensively to sell homes, I depend on Tempe Camera for all of my needs. They have fantastic service and competitive prices. I always buy local rather than on the internet to support businesses that support me.

$407.44 to repair my 70D. I did let them repaired it cause I had no choice, was in a rush and its my first camera. Anyway as I walked in the door for the first time, customer service was as expected ... moody and standing around looking like they're missing their phone desperately wanting to get on Facebook. Walked to the repair clerk waited 5mins to get helped, once helped I was told to wait for a week to get the estimate which happen to be 13 days. The day that i got the quote they said it would be repaired in 2 weeks no more or less and I specifically ask too. The day i got the call to pick up the camera it had been 5 weeks. The issue from the camera was a faulty mobo but I also specifically ask to fix my video to camera toggle switch that was and still stuck. I am very disappointed, I will be heading back to talk to Tempe Camera but that's my story. If you think you can get a better experience then me then go make that trip but so far I advised to be careful with them. UPDATE; I talked to a person name Sue (forgive me if i got your name wrong it's been a while) on the phone she was very kind, understandable and solve the issue for me. Brought the camera back to get it fixed and they delivered it to my front door simple as that. My opinion of the shop was never expressed I only told you my experience. Would I recommend anybody to this shop, yes but again be careful and don't expect happy go lucky service.

Terrible quality of scanning negatives, Take unusually long to process just a roll of film. (5 working days to be precise), and last but not least, $16 to develop & scanning for just 1 roll of film. Never going back there.

Like everyone else has said, there customer service in the sales department is seriously lacking. Have been in several times and have almost always (there have been a few exceptions) they are elitist with no interest in helping the novice.

We're more than willing to drive and even pay a little more to shop local but not if we're going to be treated like this. I'll pay the same amount and get great customer service from some of the stores in NY who seem to know how to treat customers.

Might go back if i'm in a pinch but that's it. Went in once to get sensor cleaned, quoted a price but the turn around wasn't working for my schedule. Came back later and was told they would call and give me an estimate for the cleaning and repair of my lens. Called back first thing in the morning suggesting to send the lens back to manufacturer. I really don't think they even inspected it, or planned to work on it, standard response stuff. They again reiterated they would call me back on the "quote" for the sensor cleaning. Few days later get a call, its ready and nearly 2x as much as I was quoted when I first went to get the camera cleaned. If they had quoted me that I would have turned it down.

I'd like to add that the interactions with sales has been less than stellar. I'm a novice, I shouldn't be looked at like I'm wasting your time. You're in sales, expect repeated, and even dumb questions.

I've been taking film here for years for development and service has been consistently friendly and high quality. Nice to know you can still find a good film lab in the age of technology where anyone can take a decent picture with a smart phone.

Took some rolls of film in to be developed and was not quoted the right price. Eli left me a message which I did not receive and Tempe Camera did not follow up to see if I received his message and they went ahead and did the order without me approving the huge price difference..I would have not done the order if I had known how much more it was going to be. This is terrible customer service. They should have kept trying to contact me for approval of the huge price difference. I would have told them not to do the order. They didn't even offer to make it right either. I will NEVER use them again.

Was on vacation and did not have time to drop off camera. The repair person fixed my camera on the spot. Great old fashion customer service.
He said it was oil on the sensor, cleaned it off and the camera has never worked so well. Thank You!

Very professional and informative! Chris in rentals was awesome, and helped me solve a hands on camera question I've had for months. YouTube is sometimes not enough to get the help you need! Tempe Camera Repair can help!

Nice place, great variety of cameras, backpacks, lens, photo paper, camera mounts and more. I only knocked off a star because it is quite expensive. Excluding that, I did not knock off a star for appearance, but the outside looks like they're under construction

Great help with camera repair but the sales department not helpful at all. Almost as if they do not care about you unless you are ready to spend lots of money. That is my impression and feelings i got when i was there last.

Went to two cameras stores hoping that someone could detach my polariser from my nikon lens which got stuck after I dropped it.
They both said send it back to Nikon. Michael Delanie not only fixed the problem within a minute, he sealed the lens and gave me a uv filter free of charge. Legend! Ask for Michael, if he cant fix it , nobody can!

I've been using Tempe camera for almost 20 years. They have always been good to me and resolved any issues I've had. The repair department can fix anything and the rentals are actually affordable compared to most online companies who have a minimum order. The staff is amazing and I have used their photo finishing as well and they are amazing.

Called in today because I was wondering if they stock quick release mounting plates. The salesperson on the line wasn't very helpful, insisted that I should just use the plates that came with the camera/tripod/stabilizer and didn't understand why I would want a quick release plate so I could move my camera from mount to mount without having to readjust everything. Rep was kind of rude about it and finally said I should just come in so they could take a look. If the sales rep doesn't understand why someone would want a quick release plate for their mount I decided it probably wasn't worth it to make the drive in.

Fine for rentals but please do NOT take your repair here! Quoted me an $850 lens (canon 50mm 1.2) repair without even telling me what's wrong because "Canon doesn't release that information before it's repaired"...excuse me? Find another repair option. Customer service is not great either.

This place is awesome with restorations, took a completely degraded Polaroid from 1969, in two weeks they took what other shops turned away and made it look like it was taken yesterday. Beautiful work thank you!

Perhaps they treat there follow hard core photographers nice, but I felt as if asking them general questions were a bother to them. Maybe my experience is isolated. I would suggest a typical retail store for most of your equipment, prices just are not competitive.

I got some great photography equipment from here but there was an employee who was so rude to me. I bought a bunch of camera equipment and backdrops for a Photoshoot and he refused to help me carry it to my car, and I m not a strong girl. For that reason I will not shop here again, even though I loved the stuff I bought here.

This is the last of a dying breed when it comes to camera stores - Knowledgable staff and passionate about the craft of photography and video these guys are it.
In an age where you have unboxing and wanna be experts telling you what to buy the personal touch is long lost.
Being able to chat to the guys talk abut the camera figure out what really will work for you with no pressure this is the place. Joe "the machinist" who is the owner is amazing his love for making things for you for your rig is evident when you meet him even after 40 years - ask him about his english lathe.
Stop dealing with the amazon's and b&h's of the world go here get real service, from people who love what YOU do and subsequently what they do.

the people in the repair department at Tempe Camera are literally some of the best people in customer service i've dealt with. I went through a total nightmare after I bought a used lens on Ebay that wasn't working properly, and I sent it through Tempe Camera to see if it could be saved. In the end, it was too damaged to be fixed, but throughout the whole process, everyone that helped me was not only incredibly polite, but just overall so great at helping me through this annoying situation, including shipping the lens back to the seller for me to get my refund. I have been totally stressed out over possibly losing $700, but because of their quick timing, proficiency, and being so nice to me in the midst of my annoying phone call after phone call, in the end everything worked out okay. If you guys need a lens or camera repaired and want great customer service, these are the people to go to.

It s like stepping into another dimension in this business. They ve got all of the fixings, and I can shop for equipment for my film camera (which is no longer produced). Michael in the repair department is incredibly knowledgeable and supersedes expectations. I m very excited to see the results from my next art shots. Instagram: @icemanclimbeth @madsox11

I was given a quote to replace the shutter on my 5DS for almost $900. I was led to believe that this is a Canon authorized repair center, which Canon later confirmed they are not. After having my camera for almost a month they had not even ordered the parts. I had to call them multiple times for a status on the progress but they never seemed to know what was going on. Finally I picked up my camera, unrepaired, and found out Canon will fix it for a maximum price of $279. This place is a zero customer service ripoff. I would never do business with them again.

Tempe Camera was very busy, of course; it's a Friday, so while the repair people were busy helping others with their cameras, we went upstairs to the third floor to take a look at their new and used Nikon and Canon cameras and lenses. The atmosphere on a Friday is bustling and busy, their customer service is very good, because they are dealing with other camera/photography enthusiasts, both amateur, such as myself, and professional. This is their busiest season as the weather is the most conducive to getting outside, hiking and exploring and photographing this beautiful state.

Good tip: The salesperson at the repair department told us that "old" Minolta, Canon, and Nikon 35mm SLR cameras are a favorite with millennials now- it's considered "retro" if you own one! A lot of the young people are not interested in buying the digital cameras, which is a revelation to me!

Also, Tempe Camera is well- known in the professional photography industry as existing, and processing, not only photographs throughout the years for the great Arizona Highways magazine, but also those of the former Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater's huge photographic collection, from the time before he became a senator, all the way up through. Those photos, both black and white, sepi, and color, are on display at the Heard Museum in Phoenix until January 23, 2019. They are a wonderful chronological and historical record of Arizona's Native Americans, mesas, mountains, the Grand Canyon, and the great Colorado River, which he camped on all his life.

Any camera shop can carry cameras and all the equipment; with Tempe Camera, there is also a vast storehouse of knowledge, inspiration, and Arizona history that you can take away with you as well.

Doesn't seem to be too many specialty camera stores around these days thanks to internet megastores (i.e. B & H) and places like Best Buy, so it's nice to see a decent (albeit small) store like Tempe Camera Repair. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help. One of the best features of this store is that they actually rent professional gear. Great opportunity to try before you buy or just to rent something that you really don't need/want to own.

This place is the best if u r a serious photographer or have a serious question. They are legendary. Full service and repairs. There is not another shop in Phoenix (maybe the entire state) like Tempe Camera.

Very cool camera store. The only reason this is getting a 4 start out of five is for the repair center. I have taken two lenses and they both had to be sent out to see what was wrong with them. Other then that people are friendly. Prices on used stuff is great and they have a lot of options for all your media needs.

Worst customer service in person or on the phone with the sales department. Will only go back if I need something specific and have called ahead to make sure the item is in stock. Get it and get out. Have had great experience at Foto Forum. As a small business owner myself I believe in buying local but Tempe Camera makes me reconsider this every time I try to go back and give them another chance. Never again. Foto Fourm or online are my only two choices from here on out.

I have been doing business off and on with Tempe Camera for years. I am posting this review because I felt that it was important to credit this business with the OUTSTANDING customer service I have received in the last 3 months. I have had technical issues with 2 cameras, one was used and the other new. Both were purchased at this business. Both cameras were replaced without question and the sales reps were more than exceptional in their willingness to assist me with my issues. I live in Globe and drive 1-1/2 hours each way to do business with these folks. I will continue to take all of my business to them in the future.

The orders aren't always perfect, but the customer service is. When they DO get the orders right...you will be proud to show off your own creations to anyone. After all, we're dealing with Photography...and ultimately art. Remember the concept...Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? That guy was talking about Art work - including Photography. Though their professional lab may believe the colors are perfect...it really isn't until I say its perfect...and Photoworks is a great place to help you achieve it.

Service is marginal but I've been going here for a while. Check out the discounted stands upstairs in back. Not sure there gunna be around 5 years from now but it's worth supporting one of the FEW left in Arizona

I ve rented equipment here for years and made a few purchases. I m always pleased with their service! Today they went above and beyond, I had a sick, sleeping toddler in the vehicle and didn t dare wake him for a rental return. I called and they met me at the door with everything ready to sign for the return! They didn t have to do that, but they were so kind to us today!

Went and bought a camera charger and battery to fit an old camera. One of the workers opened the battery to see if it fit my camera (which it did) and once I got home I decided to return everything since the camera was too old. When I went to return said battery and charger, they wouldn t let me return the battery because the packaging was opened but I wasn t the one that opened it, the associate did. Why would I not get my money back if I wasn t the one who didn t open it in the first place?
