Excellent service by knowledgeable staff in all areas of the business. The rental team, repair services and sales professionals take the time to answer questions and offer the pros and cons for any option I am considering. I'm a loyal customer and recommend Tempe Camera highly.

Great, friendly, local camera shop. They got to the bottom of what was wrong with my camera before I even made it home, wonderful service. The tech, Mike, was very helpful, even though my camera needs advanced repairs that requires being shipped back to the factory. He did a great, and expedient, job cleaning the sensor of my camera and went above and beyond and made the exterior nice and clean as well. I will definitely be returning to Tempe Camera.

I've never had good customer service here. Expensive and takes forever to develop and scan, please save your money and go somewhere else.

I dropped off my film on Monday and they said it would be ready on Thursday. I called in Friday saying they were supposed to call/text me when my roll was going to be done, they said that they didn't start even though they told me it was going to be ready on Thursday. I told them the photos were for commissioned work and the assignment was due on Saturday but they messed it all up. They said they'll get it done on Friday but hung up on me and never called me back. It's Sunday now, this is just one of 3 bad experiences I've had at this place. Please save your money.

The nicest dedicated camera store I've ever been to. Coming from a smaller town my only experience in buying cameras was from Best Buy which was honestly terrible. I was very happy to see that they have a very strong business in selling 35mm and medium format film and film cameras. I'm sure there are other places like this in the country but this place to me is the Garden of Eden for everything related to photography. I could spend hours in this store just browsing through the merchandise. Some of the employees like to act like know-it-all's but that doesn't bother me as much as it does other people. If you know what you're looking for then this place is the only one you need to go to.

Every time I've gone hear everyone has been super friendly very knowledgeable and easy to ask questions. I'm a pro photographer but I buy a lot of cheap gear. The people at Tempe camera will always steer you straight. If they don't have what you needed they will tell you where you can find it.

Trustworthiness is rare and precious in this industry and they have it.

I ve had nothing but excellent service here, I bought a used 5D that had issues and they were able to get it up and running. When I started doing my own film developing they showed me what to get.

On the other hand there are a couple of reps there that seem to be little more introvert then the others. They never say high or go out of their way to help you with any questions you may have (unless it s a yes or no question). So, I just tend to avoid them.

Overall Tempe Camera is a very professional place, the majority of their employees are nice and can answer your questions. Plus, it the only shop where you can rent, purchase, and repair photography equipment.

If you are going here to get your camera fixed, go see Michael DeLanie!! He was absolutely amazing and fixed my camera fast. My mom dropped my Canon Rebel t5 on my birthday and I took it in to get repaired and told him my story. He calls me later that day saying he had fixed it and he was NOT going to charge me for it because I was a new customer and it was my birthday!! He is a great employee and I will definitely be going back and seeing him in the future. Great personality and super outgoing. A+

Just want to thank Guy Reed for all the time he spent with me explaining the pros and cons of Nikon cameras and lens. He is professional, knowledgeable and one incredibly patient man. I will be returning to Tempe Camera for all my camera needs. BTW I did walk out of there with a new Nikon D750 and AF-S NIKKOR 24-120 mm f 4g ED VR lens

Been going to Tempe Camera for years. They've always been the most helpful ever since I was a beginner in school years ago. Even if I can get something online from Amazon or Walmart, I prefer to shop local from Tempe Camera instead because of how knowledgable the staff is and how safe they've been through Covid-19. Thanks!

I've been going to Tempe Camera since 2010, and they have always been helpful and knowledgeable. I've had camera cleanings and repairs, taken classes, used the film lab, and purchased items. I've never had a bad experience. If I had one single nit, it would be that the film lab isn't open on Saturdays.

I had a wonderful experience with Tempe Camera's Repair department. I was extremely nervous that my Canon 7D needed to be serviced. I was hoping that it was merely the need for a new battery. The technician confirmed my suspicions! His customer service skills were impeccable. He even went as far to remove the dust from my sensors for me.

I love this business!!!!!!!!!

Brought in two camera lenses to have them repaired and cleaned. This lady in charge of the repair section told me that I needed to buy another lens and/or talk with the original manufacturers and that my lens were pretty much good for paper weight. What's the point in a local camera shop if they can't even provide adequate service? Or even attempt to? Her overconfident attitude didn't help so much either. I'd be wary of this place.

It has been a VERY long time since I visited a real camera store. And this is a REAL camera store.....with the newest digital technology (IN STOCK!) and fun, old school, used equipment. Pricing seems very fair and the staff knows what they're doing. There's a lot to see - I need to go back.

Overpriced and the customer service is horible. They have a Leica Monochrom (1st version) for sale at the original price. Keep in mind you can get the Monochrom 246 new at the same price or a used one for several thousand less. I know that someone who does not know Leica is gonna buy this at full price. Not to mention that the price for things are 30% higher or more then online. Yeah this place has a history with Arizona and yes its the last large camera store in the state (so they say) but you can do better online from Samy s Camera or B&H or if you have to Amazon. Plus with the first two you wont pay taxes. Tempe Camera is good if you need something now and can t wait. But other then that, I would go elsewhere.

Tempe Camera is my favorite (and local!) go-to camera shop. I ve been renting/purchasing/repairing from them for years, and they ve always been incredibly courteous, knowledgeable, and affordable. I ve taken many things in to get repaired and they always come back better than when I purchased them! One time I needed a lens repaired and it was such a simple and fast fix, they didn t even charge me. Because of their kindness (along with their AMAZING selection), they ll always have my business. Good and honest work is hard to find, and I m incredibly grateful these guys are around!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff! Great supply of just about anything you can imagine. Plenty of staff available to help with questions. We really appreciated the fact that we were not talked down to as novice photographers.

Quick and inexpensive repairs to my new Canon 6d. Very pleasant experience. New camera equipment sales staff are all REAL photographers who know what they are talking about. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful and go out of their way to provide first rate service. Can't say enough about this REAL camera store.

I continue returning to this store, even if I can find the product I am looking for online. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and, incredibly helpful. Even though I am not the most advanced videographer around, they take the time to help me. Their product pricing is usually the same as online, the benefit is that, I am able to handle the product and see if it will work before I buy it. I will continue to be a customer.
Update 11/3/16 wouldo rate 5 stars again. Great customer service and had a great experience!

Convenient if you need something quick and is pretty much the last local gig in town for film work. They are just super expensive, you can sometimes get factory refurbished gear from places like Nikon cheaper than they are trying to sell used stuff for. Not sure if I am supposed to haggle at this place and that is why they have the high markups or just the proximity to ASU is to blame. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable but do your homework on what you buy, they are more than happy to sell you something they call great and then refuse to buy it a year later when you try to upgrade because it is such a lousy camera with known design defects (used car, used camera sales, pretty much the same). If you are newer to photography and your budget is in the hundreds of dollars and not in the thousands a couple of their guys won't really help you much and kinda treat you like you are not worth the bother. John and a younger guy I didn't catch his name, are very helpful and can assist you putting together a mix of new and used gear on a modest budget. At those times I go there to pick their brains and am willing to pay a little more to help keep their bricks up.

Still the worse experience I've ever had when trying to make a purchase!
I went to another camera shop in Phoenix and I just began to voice my opinion concerning the the Poor Service when several salespersons laughed out loud and told me the name of this store.
Within the local industry it's an inside joke as to how poorly these people treat customers.
Extremely rude customer service. I went there and I'm sorry I purchased anything from them. I just actually had to have a camera right then so they did obtain my $ but, not my repeat business. The staff is comprised of mostly youngish males who seem to to believe that the ability to grow facial hair makes them Men. They conduct business as if they are High Schoolers sitting at the "cool kids table". And in response to Ol' Jim Lindstrom from Globe.
Jim, I'm glad you received good service! Perhaps you got the, 'he's been coming here for years and knows the owner service' or perhaps you got good service because you're a 'Camera Guy' and you know the lingo.
But Jim, I don't know the lingo, haven't been going there for years, and I'm not a camera guy. I was just a guy with cash in his hand trying to explain himself to some fresh faced kid with his first growth of facial hair who actually rolled his eyes at me and sighed because he seemed annoyed by my admitted ignorance concerning cameras.
So Jimbo, read the reviews. The quality of service here is seriously lacking and according to others it once was good but, not so anymore.
And how about good ol' Jimbo? Driving down the mountain and at sometime between texting and driving he just happens to look at the reviews for this shop?! And then posts his first ever review! Golly Jimbo! What kinda discount did you receive?

I had wonderful customer service the staff was so thoughtful, I took negatives in from 1957, color and black and white. The staff went out of their way to get them done so I could surprise my brother who was visiting me from Michigan. My prints were wonderful. I was very happy and impressed. Sheila Tharl

Awesome place!!! I was at Best Buy and couldn't find someone to help me, even after walking around the store. I called Tempe Camera from BB and talked to Cathy she was very helpful on the phone, I walked out of B Buy and went straight to Tempe Camera, ended up spending $1000. very happy with customer service.

Very displeased. Drove 70 miles for a camera I called, verified was in stock and held. I get there and no record and no one seems to care or bother to call and tell me the camera was on hold for a different name after they found out they double held it. And people wonder why no one shops local small businesses anymore, because no one in the small business cares about the customer anymore. If I'm going to be treated like a nobody. I'll pay some massive warehouse to ship it to my door so I don't have to drive and take time off work for something I need.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Don't support a business of rude snobs. Had a lense to sell, before it was 1/4 of the way out of the bag, some Dick (believe the manager) says "We dont want that" in a very rude attitude. Will not be returning my business.

Tip of the day: Treat your customers with respect!

Service is mediocre at best and prices are highly inflated, but the worst part is the customer service. The staff is condescending and rude. I brought my camera in for a standard cleaning and it ended up being dirtier after the service than before. My photos had dust specs galore and I was told by the service worker, that he s shot many rolls of film and proceeded to show me how a shutter works. I have developed and used film for over 10 years and have a BFA in film photography, I understand the functions of a camera. They left me with no options other than it was somehow my fault. I have used Tempe camera for all my service needs for years, but won t be returning after this experience. They don t care about your camera and they especially don t care about you.

Had a lens repaired here, the service from drop off to pick up was welcoming and friendly. I had a couple questions about the repair so the tech came out to answer them, he was also friendly as well as knowledgeable about the service and treated me with respect even tho I more than likely pulled him from a current repair. Much appreciated, thank you!

First & last experience on 7-9-2016. Terrible customer service. Will not go back. Had high hopes for a 'go to shop' for anything I might want or need including classes and one-on-one instruction...The salesman was bothered the minute I stepped off the elevator. Definitely not a business I would support or ever go back to. Truly disappointing.

Disliked the repair service. I took my Canon to get its first sensor clean. I got it back and was stoked about getting to shooting again. I open up the camera and look through the viewfinder and there are dust spots that weren't even there in the first place. I try to blow them out to no avail. They have a no guarantee of being dust free AFTER leaving the store. This wasn't the case even before hand. Not only that, I take a look at the camera mirror and there are streaks, as if they reused a dirty towel and wiped it down. Unacceptable work for a "pro" shop. Wouldn't bring it here again.

Tempe Camera is amazing. I enrolled in a darkroom class and they had everything I needed plus a student discount. The staff was helpful and friendly, especially since I had no idea what I was looking for initially. The prices of the supplies I needed were competitive with online retailers. If you're into photography, it's a great local business to check out.
