Absolutely wonderful service and so happy with the outcome! Recommend 100%! Especially the wonderful Bardha who did my hair

Staff made a past girlfriend feel very uncomfortable, customer service seems to be lacking in acceptance of all people.

First time going to Teknik Salon & Spa and I could not be more impressed! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful atmosphere and all the products used in my treatment were explained to me in depth. To top it all off, the products used were available for purchase so I can recreate the look on my own! My hair is healthier than ever before and ready for summer. Will defiantly be going back!!

Extremely friendly staff. Andrea did a fantastic job. She gave me suggestions and she seemed very talented I ended up with a better result than what I had in mind. Great service.

Staff was very friendly. Free wifi, drinks offered like coffee and hot chocolate. They hang your coat up for you etc.

I went in with my boyfriend and he got a quote for his (he didn t ask for one) and had to sign before they started.

When I got mine done I had asked for the back to be trimmed and to take off split ends. I probably had maybe an inch cut off OVERESTIMATING. Took the stylist about 5 minutes to do it. He then dried my hair and said he wouldn t charge me for a full cut.

So I go up to the counter to pay and I was told I had to pay $83. I paid and didn t say anything but I was quite upset and confused.

He barely touched my hair and then told me that he was charging me less.. was this the cost he meant or did he forget to tell the receptionist.. I m unsure. My boyfriend got highlights in his hair for $111.

I wish I would have thought about seeing a quote too before mine, but I had forgotten about it by the time I started.

As a student I can say that this is not something I d recommend if you are looking to save money. BUT PLEASE do not get me wrong.. the place and the people were all lovely and this isn t bashing them. Reviews are to let other people know their experience and to give feedback!

The salon is a luxury place and if you are not concerned about money then I d recommend.

I guess I would have to say excellent - I've been going there for 13 years now, so I must be pretty satisfied. Aside from the decor (which is outstanding) the ambiance is second to none. Every staff member knows and practices Teknik's moto "From the moment you arrive . . . Prepare to Indulge". To most men, a haircut is a necessity of life. For women however it can be one of the highlights or low lights of the month. And I have to say I see a lot of happy (and beautiful women) leaving there. Definitely worth a try.

Dominic did amazing job as this was my first time I had hair extensions on a permanent base, they look and feel great, very easy to maintain worth the money to have done, will definitely do it again.

I went to Teknik for the first time just over a month ago now. Everyone was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Rosa did my highlights and Vince cut, blowdried and styled my hair. Everything turned out amazing and couldn't be happier. I felt I could trust them and after years of debating to put extensions in my hair I booked an appointment to put them in. I have since got my hair extensions and a touch up appointment for my highlights and I could not be happier. Vince did an amazing job. They have built up my confidence a bit. They were a little heavy at first and do take a bit of getting used to but I would get them again in a heart beat. They have added so much length and volume to my hair.

After being referred here to see Andrea I was incredibly excited. As a working Mama it's really hard to find the time to make and get to appointments, so when I'm able to I like to make sure I'm going to a beautiful salon where I'm going to feel pampered. The first half of the appointment was wonderful. Andrea chatted with me about my hair history and what I was looking to have done. I had a great wash/shampoo and then moved to the chair to have my cut. As she was beginning to dry my hair she was made aware her next client had arrived and then thats when the appointment changed. The final dry cut and style were very quick and I was not shown the back of my hair. I definitely could've asked, but I had already asked if she could put a serum on my hair as there were lots of fly aways. It all just seemed super rushed so she could move onto her next client.
That all being said, the salon is gorgeous and clean, the front desk staff are lovely and my cut turned out great. I just felt kind of sad leaving the appointment as these are my times to get away and feel pampered, and by the end I felt like an inconvenience. :(

I went to Teknik last week to cut off 11 inches of my hair. I was extremely nervous since I have had the same haircut for 10 years. However once I had my hair consultation with Vince, I knew I was in good hands. He told me what styles would look good with my face shape and which colour of blonde would compliment my skin tone. I want to thank Vince (style & cut) and Rosa (for my amazing colour) for being so friendly and making me feel comfortable with such a big change.

I visited Teknik yesterday for the first time. I wanted my long hair cut into a stacked bob and I wanted highlights. I showed Domenic some photos I had on my phone that weren't that great and he went out of his way to find better ones that showed the cut in more detail. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a friendly and warm atmosphere. The colourist who did my highlights was so warm and friendly and they turned out to be the best highlights I've ever had. Natural looking, not overly obvious. Domenic is awesome! From his technical skills to his warm and friendly personality. This has to be the best cut I've ever had and it turned out better than I had hoped for. My hair has developed a natural wave in the last year and the cut emphasizes the wave and makes it look even more awesome. This is definitely my new place and Domenic is my hair guru! Thanks to all the staff there!

Teknik Salon & Spa is by far the BEST hair salon I have ever walked into! And I have been through a LOT of salons across KW with mostly disappointing results. Teknik has absolutely exceeded all my expectations.

The facility looks great and has a very warm and welcoming feeling. The staff is ABSOLUTELY amazing and extremely friendly. I definitely agree with the other reviews here stating that they have been treated like family, it really does feel that way. It was truly an enjoyable experience.

I walked in with a vague idea of what I wanted with my hair, and my hairdresser Joe was able to explain all different options that would complement my idea so that I could make the right decision for myself. Long story short, I walked out of the salon looking EXACTLY as I had imagined.

The hairdressers at Teknik are TRULLY skilled at what they do, and I am so relieved to say I will never feel nervous again to go get my hair done. I have already scheduled my next maintenance appointment, and I can comfortably say I will keep coming back to this salon!

I love the staff at Teknik...they do an amazing job on my hair!! The colour by Bardha and Christina has always exceeded my expectations, not to mention the extensions by Vince/Joe that I absolutely love It s also a great atmosphere full of hugs and laughter...I highly recommended Teknik Salon and Spa!!!

I went in for an appointment for a shellac manicure just over 2 weeks ago. I was told my appointment would be with Kim, who had done a great job on a shellac manicure I received the previous summer. I arrived on time for my appointment and I told the receptionist I had an appointment for a shellac manicure with Kim. She told me that Kim wasn't there yet and asked me to have a seat in the waiting area. She didn't seem very interested in helping me or tracking Kim down but I noticed that she asked the next customer, a young man, if he wanted coffee, tea or water (I was not asked). I waited for over 20 minutes, during which time I was asked by 2 different employees who I was waiting for. Finally the second employee, Pam, the esthetician, approached me again and told me that the appointment was actually with her. Pam told me that Kim no longer does shellac manicures and I was surprised that the receptionist did not know this and that Pam and the other employee also did not figure out the mix-up sooner. Unfortunately my experience with Pam was not great. She cut two of my fingers along the side of my finger with the nail file, which felt like the equivalent of a paper cut and stung a lot when the polish remover was applied afterwards. My nails were fairly well shaped to begin with but she continued to file them aggressively even after my fingers had been cut. I needed 3 coats of colour because the polish application was streaky and there were a couple nails where the application was uneven (i.e. thicker on one side than the other) and did not extend all the way to the side of the nail. There was also a clump of hardened polish at the bottom of one nail and one of my nails chipped after 1.5 weeks. When I returned to have the polish removed 2 weeks after the initial appointment I again received a cut on my finger, this time at the cuticle, as a result of her aggressive use of the buffer block and had to endure more painful stinging from the polish remover. It took the better part of an hour to remove the polish and the only explanation I received for this was that bio gel polish was used for my manicure and it is more difficult to remove than shellac polish. Normally a metal tool is used to remove shellac polish but she was only using an orange stick so I think that might be part of the problem. At least I wasn't charged for the removal. Honestly, I have received better manicures from new grads. I have never had my fingers cut up so much from a manicure and this is not the quality of work I would expect from someone with several years of experience in the industry. I will not be returning.

This salon is great! And Leslie is the best! She did my hair both times I went to the salon, and the result was exactly what I wanted. She listened to what I was trying to explain, and is up to date on her knowledge and skills. All of the staff in the salon are friendly and experienced. I would definitely recommend this salon and it is worth the money.

Andrea has cut my hair twice now and shes fantastic. I went from a long cut to very short and she made me look fantastic. the cut and style is exactly what I had pictured and she made it come to life. I will definitely be going back!

I came here on a whim and was blown away with not only the courteous service but with how amazing my hair looks. Bardha is a natural highly talented hair stylist who took me in and made me feel like a princess! Her and her team all went out of their way to ensure they got the job right. A girlfriend encouraged me to try Teknik salon. I am so thrilled that I listened to her! The team at Teknik is amazing! They strive so hard to ensure you have a positive experience with them and that you feel beautiful and confident when you leave. Teknik is a family run business and they work together to ensure their customers have a luxurious and pampering experience from the time you enter the door.

My first visit to the salon I have to admit I was a little nervous. I was not from Kitchener and had not heard of the salon. I knew I wanted to make a real change to my hair style. It was very dry and had become over processed. After my consultation with Vince I knew I was in the right hands. He shared his ideas with me regarding what he thought we should do and the options open to me. Together we decided what changes we would make that day and we set a plan of what we would strive to do over the upcoming months. Vince honestly told me I would have to be patient, it would take some time before all of the damage to my hair could be corrected but we would get there. I have to tell you I am so glad I followed Vince`s advice. He was right with his recommendations, he and the team have totally transformed my hair. The colour has been changed, the style is totally updated and my hair is now healthy and growing. I love my new look. Vince and the Teknik team are experts in what they do with many years of experience. When you go, talk to them about what you want but also listen to their recommendations. I have been seeing Bardha for over 3 years now, my hair has never been this long and healthy. My blonde does not break and keeps growing!!!

I absolutely love this salon. I initially found it based off of high reviews for my wedding. Vince and his daughter made my hair exactly what I wanted for my day. And they made my Mom's hair gorgeous too. They are very talented and really friendly people. Two months after my wedding I even took the 2 hour drive from where I live just for them to give me balayage. Vince's other daughter, the colour technician, is equally as talented. I felt like I was in very good hands. They make you feel like family and it's a true pleasure to go here. I will be continuing to visit this salon. Would highly recommend Teknik!!

I walked into this wonderful salon over 10 years ago and I would never go anywhere else. Vince has been my stylist from day one and thanks to him and Kristina and Rosa my hair has never been so full healthy and vibrant. The staff are professional and friendly making you feel like you are part of the family. They help each other out to make sure your needs are totally fulfilled. This salon provides all the beauty services you are looking for with such great attention that you walk out feeling gorgeous and confident!

After reading some of these reviews it is very disappointing that people have to attack other human beings in order to make themselves feel better. You say "I'm a polite person" in your review Angela K? Seriously a polite person would have better things to do then condemn a kind and beautiful woman just trying to do her job? Sounds like you are jealous. Some people are never happy and want to make others just as unhappy as they are......no place of business can make everyone happy but Teknik with ALL of their wonderful employees certainly goes out of their way to try and continuously succeeds!

It was my first visit here and i was rather disappointed with the hair cut :( it feels like just a trim and not a cut. My layers are as long as they were before i dont know why i paid $60 for just a trim!

I just received my first Smoothing System Treatment and let me just say, it is a GAME CHANGER! My blow dry and styling time is cut in half, and my hair has zero frizz. If you have thick, coarse, wavy hair, then you need to get this treatment. The entire Teknik experience is amazing. Great salon, stylists, products and vibe. Highly recommend. K.

Love this place! From the minute you walk in the door, all of the staff is very welcoming. Great team environment, fantastic atmosphere and delicious coffee bar. Kristina and Rosa always handle my colour, finished with the BEST scalp massages. Vince handles the cut and most recently he put in a full head of extensions. Absolutely love the results, Vince always keeps me looking my best. Very knowledgeable and professional staff, can't go wrong with Teknik!

I have always had a positive experience at Teknik. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Joe gives me a great cut that enables easy maintenance at home. I was recently at Teknik for a "smoothing treatment". Amazing! My hair has never been so easy to style. Blow drying time is much less as is the use of my flat iron. My hair feels and looks so healthy! I don't even notice the usual effects of the summer humidity. I would highly recommend it!
6 years later... I recently had another smoothing treatment at Teknik. Amazing results! My hair feels silky and healthy and easier to style!
Everyone at Teknik is friendly , professional, detail oriented and continue to provide fabulous service as they ve adjusted to COVID protocols.

So I had sallys 4n colour in my hair when I went in. I asked to go blonde with olapex. After he stripped it he put brown all the way through with blonde highlights. I even showed him a picture of blonde hair and a touch of very light brown. It costed 478 and I sat for 4 hours. When I looked in the mirror I saw the same colour hair and 8 highlights. I think the people may be nice but the prices & skills are not good at all. I went to Romeos in Waterloo it was 160 to go blonde from the same colour as the 4n with highlights! So there's that.

Teknik salon and spa is the best salon in town to get your hair done at. Very professional, great staff and very clean. Rosa has great techniques and amazing knowledge she always knows what I want done, I definitely recommend getting your hair cut with Rosa, she will definitely exceed your expectations and you will walk out of the salon looking fresh!

I emailed in the morning to see if they had any spots available and they got me in in 2 hrs. Dil was the one who did my hair and she was awesome I left so happy and I absolutely love my hair.

The staff are so welcoming and nice! I went 6 years without a haircut and finally made the jump. My man gesebi.. Im sorry if i butchered your name lol i let him do his thing and he nailed it im super happy with the cut only problem is when i use my product i cant make it look the same :( but all in all i had a great experience and will be coming back for a long time!

I went to the salon on Wednesday June 20 2018 for a relaxing manicure and pedicure. I arrived at my appointment on time and then waited 30 minutes before my appointment started. The room was not yet cleaned and the spa technician was not ready for me. Once I was seated the lady was interrupted several times by other employees advising her she had another customer waiting. I was not impressed as I too was a paying customer. The pedicure was rushed and I felt anything but relaxed. The French manicure was even worst, the white tips are uneven and lumpy. After being recommended to this salon, and more specifically Rosa I went to their Instagram page to do some research. All the work they have posted is so well done and beautiful so of course I went ahead and booked. I brought in a picture of what I was hoping to achieve and Rosa gave me a realistic breakdown of the number of appointments it would take to achieve that look without damaging my hair and the cost of the first appointment and even an idea of how much my appointments would cost to maintain. During the appointment she kept me in the loop of what she was doing and why she was doing it. At the end of my appointment there was no surprises and I left loving my new hair. The blonde in the photo wasn t achievable at the first appointment but she still made the first step as beautiful as the end goal. The atmosphere during my appointment was so fun and comfortable, I can t wait for my next booking!

Based on the great reviews here, I went ahead and booked an appointment for a haircut at Teknik. My hairdresser was somebody named Joe. The moment I sat in the chair, he started praising himself and his amazing abilities in a very cocky manner. His inflated ego was enough for me to want to get up and walk away. He seemed to have a God s complex and being the down to earth person that I am, I get highly disturbed by people like him. I wanted to trust my instincts and leave but since I m a polite person (and also needed a haircut badly), I decided to just put up with his disgusting attitude and hope his haircutting skills will not disappoint me as much as his personality. The haircut I wanted was very simple. I just needed a trim and a straight line haircut.
The main reason why I m writing this post is not to bash him about his personality, because we meet jerks everywhere, that s life. The reason why I m posting this is because they are scammers. Being an old haircutter, I guess he charges more than other stylists. I was quoted $75 over the phone (which is ridiculous already for a trim) which I once again confirmed before sitting in the chair at the salon. It took him less than 30 minutes to cut my hair and blow dry it. As I am ready to pay, this old lady receptionist with overly done plastic face and overly exposed chest is like, so it will be $120 for today . I was told $75+HST but was charged extra $30 for unknown reasons. She assumed it was because I have long hair. Even if that was the reason, shouldn t they have the decency to mention that to me before they begin to cut? Especially if I asked twice, once on the phone and once in person.
Oh and one more thing. He really tries hard to sell his keratin treatment which he quoted over $1200 LOL. He s like, I m the best of the best and guess what? I won t be doing the work. My girls will be doing all of it. I m just going to tell them what to do, I just stand there close by, because it makes the customer feel good . LOL. Those are the exact words he said. I think he got offended when I told him, ..but..but it s just hair, not surgery LOL.
Oh and be careful when you re filling out the form they give you. They ask what your profession is. Which is pretty fishy if you ask me. It s none of your business what I do in the first place. I think they guess how rich you are so they can scam you and hope that you won t mind giving them some extra dollars since you got plenty to spare. Yes, I have money and I work hard for it. But I won t throw it away like that, especially on cocky arrogant sneaky people.
I never ever write reviews, let alone bad reviews, but I feel it s important to call them out on their fraudulent activities and not let them get away and infest society with their filthy ways.

I have just started going to Teknik and I have to say that Krista is amazing. She goes above and beyond each time I have been there. The atmosphere....experience....and staff are amazing. Worth every penny!

Teknik does it again!
I have been coming to this salon for a few years now, and they never seize to amaze. The atmosphere, the service, the experience...it is all top notch.
Today I had a hair cut by Vince who is a real hair artist. He has a keen eye for styling and cutting hair in a way that compliments your face and personality. The moment I sat in the chair he said "I have an idea", all I did was trust his expertise and I ended up with the cutest hair cut ever. It looks and feels AMAZING!
So far, I have had my hair done by a few different stylists at Teknik, and I have always had the best experience.
Whether you are looking for a trim or a new fresh look, I highly recommend this place, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
