For the past twenty-five years, Teknik Salon has been the only salon for my hair care needs. Dom and Krista - I always leave with a great style and a lighter step, thanks to your attention to detail, humour and kindness.
Yesterday was my first visit to Teknik. From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like family. Kristina is so talented with colour. She ll take the time to listen to what you want and recommend what s best for your hair, and also make sure it s still going to look good in 4 weeks. And she s fast! I don t think I ve ever seen anyone put foils in so quickly! Vince is amazing with cut and styling and actually LISTENS to what you want. He s just as warm and wonderful as Kristina. He was able to cut and style my hair to give it the body I wanted, but leave the length I wanted to keep.
Definitely a really great experience with Kristina and Vince, and I ll be back.
Fabulous experience. At the end of the day, I just want a great hair cut. Vince exceeds my expectations and is able to consistently leave me looking and feeling good. I added a colour to my recent visit and Kristina and Rosa didn't disappoint. Since going to Teknik I have the hair I've always wanted. It's a super place for the whole family. I'll always be grateful for the kindness and respect Giuseppe showed my toddler with when he was less than cooperative for his hair cut! Thank you to the whole Teknik team!
I have been a client for a long time and must say..I LOVE this place and the staff for many reasons!! They all treat their clients like family, they respect and listen to what YOU want, and have never felt so safe to try something new because I know that their recommendations always turn out GREAT!!! The staff at Teknik are all incredibly talented and friendly . I have been going to see Joe for the last 4 years, he is a fantastic stylist and always knows exactly how to cut my hair. I trust him completely to try new cuts and colours. I always feel like family when I come here, and the coffee is always great. I wont go anywhere else!
Giuseppe, Kristina, Sarah, Rosa, and many more have made me feel like I m back home with my grandparents. The Italian era, service, and culture is certainly and without a doubt replicated in this establishment. One of the best places to not only just get your hair done. One of the most exquisite places I ve ever been to, nothing beats it. Complimentary coffees and treats go a long way when it comes to Teknik. Exceptional service has never not been apparent. A family run business that carries such, love, pride, and passion when it comes to providing people with amazing services. I love each and every one of them, they all deserve so much more. The environment has always been extremely professional, friendly, polite and fun. Couldn t and wouldn t imagine spending my money else where. I ll always feel at home here.

His knowledge and background experience impressed me. After so long for searching for the perfect place, I found Teknik! All the staff who work there had top-level service skills. They don t rush my wonderful massaging hair wash though! Bliss.
Christina is presently doing my hair and she is simply wonderful! Very talented and lovely to spend time with. Fortunately, if she isn t available, with my limited schedule, I can trust any other stylist there will be able to also do a great job.

I went to the salon for the first time a few day ago after reading all of the positive reviews. I had been going to the another salon (and stylist) for the past 17 years and was a little nervous about trying something new. I'm SO glad I did! Vince was remarkable -- I was extremely impressed by his kindness and skill and knowledge. I have NEVER been so happy with a cut. I've had more compliments on this style than all the cuts over the past 17 years combined. The most wonderful thing was looking in the mirror and feeling like he had somehow managed to find ME under all of that hair! Another welcome change was the relaxed atmosphere of the salon. I felt at home immediately and enjoyed the experience from start to finish. If you're thinking about making a change -- DO IT! This is a special place.
I am about as picky as they come for salons and my hair, and I promise you, this is the absolute BEST. It comes down to service, and expertise on this one. The professionals who work here are absolutely WOW. I made a last minute booking, and was welcomed warmly with a refreshment. They CONSULTED me on my hair, looking at the condition, making recommendations and having an open discussion. So many stylists don't do this, and I've had some horrible experiences. My colour with Jessica was exactly what I needed and wanted, and my cut by Vince is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I can't say enough. Do your self a favor, indulge, and go!

Rosa is a great stylist and always does an amazing job with my hair, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I absolutely love the new style.

I went to tennis the other day for the first time. I wanted a simple bang trim and even described how I like my bangs and how short. First he cut them too short so now I have to wait for them to go back out. Second what slain charges $20 for a bang trim that took less then 5 minutes?? I understand paying something for a bang trim. The place I usually go charges $10 but $20???? That us way over priced for a bang trim that takes less then 5 minutes and he did a bad job.
Love the new salon on Weber Street! Very bright and airy. They ve done a wonderful job with protective measures so you know you're safe the moment you walk in the door, which was very much appreciated. Best of all, they brought the same energy and friendly atmosphere with them from the last location one of my favourite things about this salon. As for Vince, no one in the world can cut hair like this man. He s a true artist. So happy they re back up and running and part of our community!
Excellent balayage tecknique, love how my hair looks and feels. The hairdresser was extremely friendly and helpful, explaining everything what she was doing. 4 starts because the colour tone that I asked for wasn't quite captured (I wanted gold rose or dusty rose)

I cannot say enough about Teknik! Giuseppe always does an amazing job with my hair- colour, extensions or a cut. I love my hair every time I leave and always get so many compliments. The staff are also all amazing and so friendly- it is a great atmosphere!
I am delighted with the services and work done by Dil on my hair. I went to the salon with severely damaged hair and had no clue about how to recover them. Dil recommended the best option for the current state of my hair and gave me a lovely haircut. I want to mention that she was very keen to provide me with a healthy hair look rather than what's in the trend. The salon was clean and very much ready to serve the best during the pandemic.
Dilber is amazing! I saw her to go back to my natural colour after thinking my only option was to grow out my current hair. She expertly blended in the correct tones and managed to leave some natural looking highlights. I also recommend the keratin treatment to follow up any colour service, for super soft hair.
Teknik does it all. When it comes to styling, coloring, or spa services, customers are guaranteed nothing but the best. As a customer who always enjoys changing up her look, I can always trust that my stylist, Vince, will take good care of me. Whether it s 20 inch extensions or platinum blonde colour, I know I can trust him to make my hair look stunning.
Recently, he managed to take me from a deep brunette to blonde for the summer, and I am currently a warm auburn for the fall. The gradual transitions of colouring always ensured that my hair would be healthy. Furthermore, I am able to style it every day with the wonderful array of products my stylist has recommended- frizz diffuser, hairspray, and heat protectant.
When it comes to extensions, I had been a clip-in-aholic for nearly three years until Tekinik introduced me to Great Lengths; individual-bond extensions that stay in for up to six months. This saved me the morning hassle and allowed for me to have natural-looking long hair that I could style easily.
In the end, Tekinik provides genuinely terrific service, suggestions, and outcomes and I am extremely happy to be a client.
Vince gave me a hair style that was much needed to get rid of damaged hair!

I've been going to Teknik Salon & Spa for over 20 years and they never cease to amaze me. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave they make you feel special. Vince has been doing my hair for 20+ years, and he's seen me from long to short and through different stages. He's always been very supportive and patient with me through my phases and always making my hair look amazing. In the past year Kristina has been doing my highlights and colour and what an amazing job she has been doing. My hair colour always looks rich and beautiful. Again tonight I was in there, new hairdo and amazing colour. I can't thank Vince and Kristina enough for making me feel so special. I would never hesitate to recommend either one of them.

I have always heard good things about Teknik Salon, and almost hesitating going when I read a couple bad reviews recently. Sooo glad I decided to try the salon. (after all who cuts up how people look ...) I have never gotten more compliments in my life. I had my hair colored, highlighted and cut. The stylist went thru a thorough consultation first so I knew exactly what he was doing and price. Loved your ideas Vince. Your staff right from the receptionist to colour technicians were all welcoming and friendly. and oh the shampoos with massage....ohhh !!! it was wonderful. Came in with very damaged "pink" hair. Rosa & Joe went through everything that had happened to my hair & showed me the damage. They were honest & told me, I probably wouldn't be able to do what I had planned & they gave me another option. Well, lets just say they worked their magic & my hair looks absolutely amazing!!!! All I have been getting is compliments on how great I now look & am being told I look 10 yrs. younger!!!! THANK YOU for making me pretty again!!! You have a new customer now!!!!
This was my first time at Teknik Salon and I was amazed at the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the salon! I had no clue what style or how short I wanted to go since my hair was really damaged. Mind you, I had not cut it in over a year! Dil was very attentive, friendly and professional. She recommended different treatments, techniques and advised me on how to take care of my dry, frizzy hair. She gave me the perfect cut I was looking for. I cannot wait to go back and color my hair !

This place is my oasis of relaxation for the last 15 years. Starting with their excellent espresso italiano continuing with a super relaxing shampoo and scalp massage then a very careful haircut is finishing always with a nice chat that make me smile. I highly recommend this hair salon for those who care about themselves:))))
I tried out Teknik Salon for the first time, and Dil was my stylist. She had her work cut out for her, since I hadn't cut my hair in over two years and, well, it was a mess. It was also very long and I was looking to make a pretty dramatic chop. But to complicate things, I didn't even really know exactly what I was looking for! I showed Dil some sample pictures of styles I liked, and she talked me through her ideas of what would look best on me. I ended up with a really fresh cut and style, and the balayage colour looks amazing! I've gotten tons of compliments already :) Thank you so much Dil!!
Going to Teknik is always like a trip to a spa. All staff is friendly, super accommodating and my stylist, Dom, knows how to work difficult hair. When I walk out, I feel 10 years younger. Aren't I worth it? Thanks Dom!
Went to get my nails done here and said she doesn't do acrylic but she'd try with something else. They looked OK at first but then I noticed lots of bumps in them and some were unevenly shaped. The longer I had them the more they became unappealing to me. 6 days later one of them fell off and my thumb nails are almost off as well. She ended up charging me $70 for it and honestly it was so not worth it and a waste of money. Do NOT go here to get your nails done, you'll be extremely disappointed.
I had the best experience with Julia! I love my hair. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted and came out very pleased. Every single person I have seen has complimented my hair. Thank you very much! I will deffinitly be back. Awesome salon highly reccommend.

I had a haircut with Joe Romeo and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. The haircut itself was well done but it was the whole package that took the experience to the next level. When I sat down with Joe, he asked me about my hair care routine, lifestyle, and preference. And based on this, he gave me a (very needed) honest feedback. Joe recommended a simple long cut that will look great and suit my lifestyle of minimal care and styling. I have a habit of never going to a salon twice so I've tried out a ton of salons before. You can get a good haircut anywhere but Teknik goes beyond that and gives you a great haircut that will look stunning long after the visit to the salon.
Booked my kids in for haircut and I was amazed with the high level of care and quality service we received, my youngest daughter is 10 years old and she was valued and treated as an adult with respect and integrity we will definitely be back both my kids love their haircut and they want to thank teknik Salon for the Quality and high level of service they provide, and with all the extra cleaning and sanitizing the salon the PRICE was extremely reasonable . Tried out their shellac manicure, and one of the worst manicures I've EVER had. The lady who did my manicure (Pam) used old shellac nail polish, it was terrible. After I got home, and had a closer look (cause you can't see anything in the dark room that they do it in) I saw clumps of nail polish. Looks horrible! After reading reviews below, I realized that I'm not the only one who had a very poor shellac experience. Disappointing! Will not be returning.

Love my red highlights; However, $48 to blow dry my hair for a total of $190 for highlights on medium length hair with No hair cut; is crazy!

This review has been edited from its original version. Originally I gave this salon three stars due to what I perceived was some strange and not customer focused policies which filtered down to the consumer.
According to management there was a miscommunication created by a receptionist.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I can raise my rating to a full five stars. They really did put forth a good amount of effort once they knew I was unhappy with the original level of service that I received and that effort says a lot about this company as a small business. There are far too many other organizations that would not do the same for their customers.
This salon is fairly typical of a high-end salon. Appointments are generally on time and planning is very good, due to them having a dedicated reception staff. They do sell their own product line which is excellent and loved by many and sets them apart from other salons.
They have a good cross section of stylists with different ages and specialties which means that no matter who you are, you ll be able to find the perfect style or cut here.
One note:
Unlike most places, here you are forced to tip in cash. There s no real reason for it, but it exists, so be aware (esp if you re under the age of 35 and don t carry any cash ever). The stylist are very good and deserve a tip, so don t be caught by not having cash on you.
I have been going to this salon for nearly five years now and I absolutely love it. Krista has been my stylist and colourist ever since day one. She is absolutely incredible and insanely talented! She's so great that my mom asked if she could start going to her as well. Let's just put it simply, my mom (who lives two hours away) makes special trips to Kitchener, just so Krista can do her hair. That says it all!
Krista will also be doing my hair on my wedding day this August. I couldn't imagine having another hair stylist doing my hair on such a special day. The salon will also be doing the hair for the rest of my bridal party.

I had my previous hairstyle for my whole life prior to first visiting Teknik, and was quite nervous to get it changed. Fortunately, Vince was more than helpful and very enthusiastic when he showed me examples I could try, to the point where I decided to let him do what he thought best. I couldn't have made a better decision, as my final look, while completely different from my previous one, suits my complexion very well. Along with the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, I would definitely recommend Teknik Salon and Spa.
