Very good and it's the theater where they played the godfather 3
Just walked by it and it looks impressive. Think they filmed the end of Godfather 3 on the entrance steps...
The beauty enhanced by the Christmas lights and plants !!!! The grandeur of the same.
I heard a lot about it, looked at the pictures. I would like to see. I don't have my photos which is a pity.
3rd largest in Europe, worth a visit, we arrived at 9:30am for a guided tour and kindly given a free opera performance for pupils in one of the rooms. Great experience and friendly staff
A guided tour not to be missed.
I must say that all the young guides we met in Palermo do their job with passion, this makes the visit to the Teatro Massimo even more interesting. One of the most beautiful theaters I've ever visited in all of Europe.
I do not think it is necessary to underline how beautiful the Teatro Massimo is, if from the outside it is majestic and elegant inside it will leave you speechless. Enjoy the acoustics during a performance leaves really amazed. In addition, the visit of the upper external part offers a glimpse of the truly enchanting city
It is the third largest theater in Europe after the Paris Opera and the Vienna State Opera.
It is possible with 8 / person to visit the interior of the theater with a guide. The guide is very precise and will tell you the story and show the main areas of the theater. The stage is unfortunately closed if there is no evidence in progress.
The visit takes about 30 minutes and is available in multiple languages every 30 minutes. Last visit at 5.30pm, also on Sunday.
A visit behind the scenes can also be booked for a total of 13 / person.
One of the most beautiful theaters .... with wonderful acoustics. Dressed to the nines for Christmas
It's one of the greatest theatre in europe. The capacity is around 1300 seats. The scene has 70 meters height and 38 meters width.
Magnificent theater that transports you to a scenic world ... A true journey through history
Really beautiful old opera theater. Classy and elegant. And of course, if you read the Godfather it's must see place. Even if not, it's still top worth visiting point in Palermo.
Very nice architecture. Not to mention scenes from Godfather were shot here :)
One of the most beautifull and interesting place in Palermo
Excellent value for money with perfect location to get around the center without means.
Wonderful structure, one of the most beautiful theaters in the world
A classic from Palermo. It is possible to make the visit even with the guide always very competent and available
By its size, that remarkable opera theater comes right after the Garnier Opera and Theater in Paris and Opera Theater in Vienna. Memorized by the final scene in Godfather III on the main stairs. Just beautiful building in Palermo.
The biggest theater in Italy and the third in Europe
Structure of great charm and beauty the maximum theater is the largest Italian opera house and among the largest in Europe. Possible paid visits where if you are lucky you can attend the rehearsals of the concerts. At Christmas time it also becomes a beautiful setting of lights.
Great theater! We saw Angela Gheorghiu in Adriana Lacouveur.
Imposing and very beautiful theater with interesting features. The only flaw is the guide who has not at all mentioned the beautiful chandeliers inside made of a beautiful Murano glass and also cn some problems in speaking English. Some errors and some shortcomings during the explanation to foreign tourists. The beauty of the theater is still worth the cost of the ticket.
Beautiful with the preparation, all floral, for the arrival of 2020!
Council to see our theater Massimo in the Christmas period every year they enchant us with wonderful Christmas decorations lights and plants ..... the wonderful interior painted frescoes ......
Beautiful theatre but very hot and stuffy, no air conditioning or ventilation.
Always lovely. From yesterday even more impressive with the staircase adorned with bicolor Christmas stars
A wonderful experience for the Bosnian family to visit the location of the scene from the Godfather .. katarza
I only saw it from the outside and it's just beautiful / gigantic.
Wonderful theater, developed on an area of 7000 square meters, the third largest in Europe
Fabulous ... Every time I lose myself in its majesty and beauty
Perfect place no matter what, if you are a tourist you can enjoy the magnificence of the monument, if you are just passing by there are some benches under the shadows of the trees, the road is closed to most vehicles so you can just have a walk and maybe grab something to eat
For the acoustics, for the decorations, for the lighting .... It is worth a visit
If you have time to see a show is perfect otherwise you can also take organized guided tour, which departs every half hour.
In the meantime you can enjoy a croissant Pistacchio in the bar of the Theater.
Didn't go inside, but nice from the outside especially lit up at night.
Only guided tours at specific times with reservations to visit absolutely unforgettable
Gorgeous .. liberty style and sicilian sun. What more do you want?!?!
If you come to Sicily, you must visit the Massimo Opera House. It is the largest theater in Italy and the third largest theater in the world. Although it is large in size, the resonance design is good and the sound is wrapped around the theater so that the top singers perform as a world-class theater. Jo Su-mi, a South Korean performer, also performed here. There are no operas a few times a month.
Such a beautiful building worth a tour and we were lucky to see the orchestra in the main seating area as social distancing measures are currently in place
A unique theater in the world. The largest in Italy and among the largest in Europe
Very beautifull. It can be visited inside with various itineraries.
Masterpiece. 8 euros a bit too much for a tour which honestly is just enough. Very very beautiful inside. Third largest theater IN EUROPE. Emblem of the waste of public money was brought back to life by Francis Ford Coppola to shoot some scenes of the Godfather III.
The Massimo theater is beautiful from the outside but on Tuesday we went to the site to make the visit it was closed to the public
An incredible Opera House saw La Boheme wonderful experience
Fantastic to be the 3rd theater in Europe, after that of Paris and Vienna for its size, acoustics and visibility.
It covers an area of 7000sqm.
It has a natural ventilation system that emanates from the ceiling that has a daisy-shaped fresco where in reality its petals rise to favor the exchange of air.
I passed by it, and the beginning of a pedestrian course where there are several shops in Palermo.
Interesting lights fine fittings for a place of art.
The inscription "The Art elevates men and nations" Something like that
The tour is ok, they have guided tours in Italian and English and you can get some extra information on the opera house. You can actually go in the opera house's auditorium and you can see some other staff likr backstage (for that you have to buy extra ticket).
This is one of the two teatres in Palermo. It is the biggest teatre in Italy located on a grand square. Impressive. I was there around Dec 31. There was a big video beam of the concerts of classical music given in the teatre by top artists. A majestic atmosphere in the city.
Pedestrian area there are many people who walk among the shops, and they sell beautiful souvenirs,
A theater unique in the world for its genre interior in pure gold exterior pure liberty really a dream to live if we then add an air of Puccini or Verdi is the maximum
It's the biggest opera house in Italy and 3rd in Europe. Take guided tour for 8 . Try bizzare acoustics under the dome.
Magnificent building which testifies to the cultural richness of Sicily
Beautiful building, an obligatory reference point for all tourists visiting Palermo. It is a landmark of the city. Impress its size, and it is not for less. It is the largest theater in Italy, and the third in all of Europe. Of Greek inspiration, its neoclassical style is simple and clear, with a lot of symmetry in its design. Separate fact: The last scenes of the Godfather III, were shot inside.
The most beautiful theater in the world ... Will I be biased? I don't know but it's not just me who says it !!! Visit to believe.
It remains one of the enchanted places I have ever seen in Sicily.
The Teatro Massimo is one of the most representative jewels of the city of Palermo and is considered one of the largest theaters in Europe. It was conceived as a temple of secular culture and a luxurious venue for mass entertainment. Its imposing structure and architecture are admired every day by "trails of tourists". What to say, if you are in the surrounding area you cannot miss it.
Incredibly beautiful building. A Palermo must. Only 1 km from the harbor
An interesting place to visit for people who like old architecture and are passionate about theaters and operas. The echo room made a special impression - I recommend standing in the middle and saying a few words, electrifying effect!
The pride of the city. The Teatro Massimo, is the largest opera theater building in Italy, and one of the largest in Europe, third by size. Its immensity and beauty is disarming. I advise everyone to visit it and if it is possible to listen to a concert or go to see an opera. It is a unique experience.
Beautiful and immense city, the maximum and splendid stay.
Here there is only spring and summer.
We went to Teatro Massimo to see Don Quixote. It is a beautifully classic (and HUGE) theater with nice staff and an amazing theatre room.
Do yourself a favor and pick a box close to the stage. The increase in price is acceptable (at least for German standards) and you truly feel like you re going to the theater in the 19th century.
The show was as you d expect from Italian artists: amazing!
the small group visit is worth it really: very interesting guide.
If there is a rehearsal going on like the 1-2 days before a concert of an opera, this makes the visit even more interesting
Spectacular! A theater that preserves its charm, rich, decorated, really suggestive
