It's amazingly well kept, unique and beautiful park trails. Only $5 to park.
It's amazingly well kept, unique and beautiful park trails. Only $5 to park.
I have been going here for almost 40 years. It's a great place to learn about the local natural environment. Well suited for families or anyone looking to hike and get in touch with the outdoors.
Only 4 stars since they started charging 5 dollars for parking last summer. I would visit more frequently without the added parking charge. Would rather let the kids make monetary donations with the coin funnel and gift shop purchases than handing over cash to park for 60-90 minutes, but everything changes.
Teatown has a beautiful set of trails and woodland areas to explore, as well as a group of pleasant staff that are happy to help with any problems. They have a variety of animals on site that are open to public observation and dozens of assorted children's programs to entertain those of any age group.
Peaceful relaxing calming. Well maintained and welcoming.
Beautiful views, many trails available. Looking forward to going back when possible.
A very lovely reserve that keeps a valuable natural treasure intact
Beautiful, well-maintained trails. Friendly staff. Lots of hiking choices.
Hey guys Ryan Mansell here and today I'm going to be reviewing Teatown Lake Reservation. Let me start off by saying I'm a nature enthusiast so this place is right up my ally. Last summer I went here with my Latina friend, her co worker and one of my children that I nanny. Let me just tell you, we had a blast! Be sure to stop into the building and see the animules.
Nice easy trails . Very well maintained and beautiful place for a walk . Bring you pooch , dont forget his leash!
Woods, water, peaceful trails--always a mood changer
Excellent for a great 1.5 mile hike that brings you back to the parking area. Many other hikes available!
Nice trails with great views of the lake. There's a wildflower preserve that looks it would be worth a visit whenever it reopens.
Huge tracts of unspoiled wilderness with a variety of trails to choose from and lots of various sights to see. Includes restrooms and a sanctuary for rescued animals as well and a museum.
My dog and I love walking the trails, and the nature buildings are fun to visit normally.
This is my temple!! This is where I go to realign and find myself.
Great place. Our 2 year old son loved the walk around the lake. Managed it all, with a little help on the tricky bits. Various Places to sit. Very relaxing. Will go back and work up to harder trails. Recommended. Do not take a stroller!
Been coming here for 25+ years. Beautiful, well maintained.
Nice place for a days hiking. Small to big trails are available.
Scenic place.
Lake isn't that in great condition but surrounding area is good & a good place to spend a day.
Toilets are available at Nature Center.
Great trail especially if you get to see some wildlife. Love bringing my dog here because there is always something for her to sniff out.
Fantastic!!
$5 for one day parking and you are all set :) very easy hike for family, all ages.
They have a very clean compost toilet near the entrance.
We've been coming here since my boys were born, spent almost every weekend just walking the lake trail and enjoying the wildlife and scenery. Now my boys are 30 and 31 and we still get out once in a while to just enjoy nature. Still enjoy the lake trail, eating lunch under the boat house, bring your own food, also it's carry in, carry out. When visiting make sure you stop by the bird of prey enclosures. Tea town takes care of a bald eagle, some owls, hawks, kestrel and crows that have been injured in the past, have healed, and are now ambassadors for the park. There's also a maple sugar shack, and the visitor center where people of all ages can enjoy learning about the diverse eco system and it's inhabitants. You can bring dogs as long as they're on leashes and enjoy a great day out in nature. The trails are rough in spots so wear appropriate shoes. Enjoy!!!
Very pretty place, we came in late in the day and there were plenty of people there without feeling too crowded. Wildflower island can be accessed by appointment only
Had such a fun time with my friends there. There are about three to four hiking trails you can take depending on how many miles you want to walk and the level of difficulty. It's a great place to just be with nature. You'll see so many diffrent kinds of trees, mushrooms, some chipmunks, waterlilies and fishes, maybe an eagle if you're lucky, etc. Be aware of the mosquitoes though and just have fun!
For me it was a wonder because they are looking at nature and that was my first time that I went there
Trails are pretty flat /easy but apart from this nice place for an easy walk.
It's my first time in this place. The trail is nice and the markings are clear. I really enjoyed our time here just walking, hiking, looking at nature. The parking is only $5 which is very cheap. It's good for the kids and the entire family. If you have very small kids or baby just snuggle them make it easier for both of you. The stroller might not work in some trails. They put random benches in every part of the trails so someone can always sit and rest while enjoying the view. Over all very nice, calming, relaxing and peaceful.
We go here all the time to hike. The trails are great and they have difficulty levels to suit every skill level. The lake is a great place to sit and have a bit to eat after a long hike.
Theres a parking lot where you have to pay a meter to enter the trails. Completely worth it though, it was a gorgeous well preserved nature spot. It offers hilly paths, beautiful scenery and a nature center. We enjoyed the foot bridge vista. Worth a visit. We will be back!
Great trails and nature programs for kids and adults.
we take easy trails and best fall foliage 25th October 2020.
The rescued birds/animal section is great for kids!
Wonderful hiking, well maintained varied trails, beautiful views
Excellent well cared for trails. Not too many people on a beautiful early fall day. I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a migrating Blue Heron eating a fish in the lake. Unfortunately, I wasn t able to get my camera out in time. Hope to go back soon. Note there is a fee for parking you can use cash or credit card at the trail head parking lot. There are maps available for purchase for a dollar each.
Teatown is a nature gem. With many trails and plenty to see, Teatown is a must for Westchester residents.
The boardwalk through the lily pad section is very cool.
Teatown Reservation has some of the best trails and views in the area. You do have to pay for parking, but it goes towards maintenance and programs. Gladly paid it, and spent quality time. Bring water, leashed dogs are welcome (please bring poop bags), carry out and trash, and enjoy.
I love this place no matter what time of the year you go there it's all so beautiful, great for walking with kids and having some family time
Wonderful place that is so picturesque! Hooray 4 Teatown! Thanks!
Well, it's definitely a nature preserve! Make sure you wear appropriate footwear if you plan on hiking (seasoned hikers may consider it a stroll) trail around the lake - maybe I shouldn't have worn sandals in retrospect. I definitely was not prepared for this 75 minute trek, even my dog Rocco, who accompanies me almost everywhere I go, was elated when we saw the car in the parking lot!
I'll stick to strolling around the lake at Gedney!
Relaxing picturesque hiking trails for all ages & levels
Lots of hikes to choose from that are easy and very family friendly.
What a little gem of a nature preserve! Lots of stuff for kids.
Great nature hiking and trekking trails. It is open all year.
Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes... and be ready to enjoy nature.
A calendar full of activities for children and adults.
You must not miss the Northeastern Natives Wildflower Island. To visit the Wildflower Island, you must call in advance for a guided tour.
Please Note: Parking is no longer free on the weekends.
Beautiful place to walk around. Tons of wildlife and well kept. They also have a zoo-like area with of birds of prey.
Amazing place I have gone twice and I want to again:)!!!!!
Very well preserved, not too difficult to hike and most importantly very beautiful especially in fall.
Beautiful reservation. Do venture off of the lakeside trail! Not that it is not breathtaking, but there are many more trails attached to this location and maps for them are available free in the nature center. Also check out all of the raptors at the rehab center.
Beautiful place but the trails are not as well kept as I would have liked. We only went on the main trail around the lake, passed a bee hive on the floor, two kids got stung and we had to leave after only 45 minutes. We will give it another try to explore the additional trails. Check it out for something different!
Beyond expectations. What beautiful views and bridges! Also very Kids friendly for the shortest trail.
Went here for a school trip, very nice to the students
Nice hike around the lake. A little deceiving. It is longer than it looks.
Beautiful! Variety of trails with different levels of difficulty.
This is our new favorite hiking destination within an hour of NYC. Friendly staff in the nature center and a range of guess and walks for different abilities.
Click I chords outside the city about an hour away beautiful nature and lots of animals
Absolutely love everything about this place. Family friendly, and connected to nature.
Great place to visit fairly easy hike 2.3 miles blue trail around Teatown lake.
Beautiful place to walk with family. Weekdays no parking fee . Weekend $5 parking and limited parking spot .
I chose the short path around the lake. It was 1.5 miles and pretty scenic. Perfect for families and dates.Enjoy!!!
This place is amazing, three tween boys had so much adventure climbing rocks, venturing several different trails and really enjoyed walking along the water and crossing streams on fallen logs.
Came here during the wrong season. But still very beautiful
Pretty nature preserve with about 10+ miles of trail. Most are 1-3 miles, but you can combine to get some distance in. They are definitely not "technical" trails, but they're also not groomed, so expected rocks and roots and a touch of rolling terrain. All in all its a pretty forest oasis where you can have a nice hike and enjoy the outdoors. Parking is $5 and the lots are fairly small, so keep that in mind.
Very peaceful walk around the lake. Back in the day my son loved to see the animals that Teatown took care of.
nice 2m trail...good wood structures on rough spots
Beautiful reserve with trails and nature building with rescued wild animals
Amazingly beautiful. Well maintained trails with clear markings. I would definitely revisit such a raw natural frozen lake.
