The ambiance and the staff is great. Food is average, and way over priced.
Main dishes are super small portions and are being served in a small side dish rather than in a proper plate. The wine list is a trap with almost no reasonably priced choices.

Hands down the best sushi spot in North Hollywood and so close to my house! I love the decor, friendly service, and quiet dining. The sushi is delicious! Only problem is the parking, street parking only. I have been here twice already. And they are ok with fussy toddlers too. Recommended!

Every year we have an annual dinner here, little different as family style dinning but don't let that discourage you or you'll miss out. Food is amazing and you mush have the bacon wrapped dates! Friendly, cozy and amazing building along with friendly and great staff.

Great food and a great location! I was here for a private party, and this place was incredible. The food is delicious, and they have a great wine/beer/drink selection. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. The outside patio was perfect.

I'm a huge fan of A.O.C. everytime I'm in L.A. I make sure to reserve a dinner there. Suzanne Goin's creations are always a marvel and have never ever been let down. From appetizers to main courses to dessert, you can't go wrong and you must have it all. It's best to go with friends so you each try different dishes and share. The wine selections are wonderful and always go with their menu. I can't wait for my next visit!

First night out at a restaurant in soooo long & it was wonderful! A.O.C. handled the experience perfectly. Very careful with everything - but still made it a warm, memorable dining experience.
It was such a simple pleasure to celebrate our anniversary in a restaurant. Thank you to all the staff for making it special

Clean tasting, toothsome, and fresh.

Salads: well oiled and full of flavor.

Desserts: gourmet... Absolutely adored the butterscotch pudding with some coffee.

Fish: grilled sea bass. I'd try something else next time I come here, but it wasn't memorable.

Cheese: creamy and goes well with the toasted baguette

TLDR: salads you can't go wrong. Definitely get the butterscotch pudding. Skip the fish. Great service.

This wine shop has a wide variety of cheap and affordable booze to choose from. They have the most friendly and accommodating staff than any other wine shop in the city. And their prices are very affordable, too. I will be back here next week for my father's birthday. He will love their wine here. Thanks!

Seriously note it is a small plate menu, prices are high and my dish I think a hanger steak was overly salty, my wife's duck was frankly tough, salty and over cooked, the cheese dish was A piece of cheese, the service was iffy, our waiter tried but agreed people were usually unaware how small portions were, he tried to call it tapas, so we were supposed to share and use our dirty bread plates...really come on, spare some clean plates. The drinks were not cheap and fairly small, the wines even by the glass were ridiculously expensive. The decor was nice but overall two small dinners, a small cheese dish and two drinks pushing 145! Not asking for cheese cake factory portions or prices but be warned the emperor has no clothes here

Hostess was rude to us upon arrival. Our waiter was without a smile and seemed like he hated his life. He accidentally spilled water on the table and walked away with no apology or comment on the mishap. He simply returned, wiped the water and walked away again. No words. Strange behavior for a waiter.

My girlfriend and I were simply turned off by the distasteful vibes all around. We decided to leave without ordering anything and the hostess gave us a passive aggressive "bye" on the way out. It felt as if we were targeted the minute we stepped in.....

Small plates restaurant with solid food and wine. Sauvignon blanc recommendation from the waiter was fantastic.

All the food we ordered was great. I d say 1.5-2 dishes per person is needed. Of particular note were the potatoes, halibut, and fried chicken. Be aware the lamb comes out a good deal slower than the rest. Plates come out as they re ready, for that reason sharing is highly encouraged.

All items we ordered were great! They are small plates, so be prepared to order 2-3 plates. The clams were amazing as was the pomegranate dessert. Service was amazing, they explained the menu thoroughly since it was our first time there and they made us feel comfortable.

Beautiful atmosphere and all of the staff, from the manager, host, waiter and busser were excellent. Small but very tasty portions. Mid to expensive price points. Great as a destination or occasion spot rather than a regular eatery, unless you can afford it. Highly recommended. Will visit again

Absolutely delicious food. Their menu is essentially shared small plates designed to be split into fours. I highly recommend both the bacon-wrapped dates and the Spanish fried chicken. The final price was a tad higher than I hoped, but well worth the money.

It's probably the most romantic/best decor restaurant I've been to in Los Angeles. The ambiance is amazing. The indoor garden looks great.

Now, why only 2 stars? Well, other than the decor, everything else is just average. And the service was just lacking. Food is okay. The prep time was good and food temperature was good as well. Nothing extraordinary, but I would still recommend for you to come just to check out the decor.

But, man, they have one of the worst service in this type of restaurant. My wife and I came in around 2pm. we were seated promptly and hostess was very nice. The place wasn't busy, maybe about 4 tables were occupied around us in the indoor area. Waiters were walking around us but no body paid attention to my table nor anyone greeted us. I had to stop a waiter to order food after we sat at our table over 20 minutes. He apologized and he said he wasn't the waiter for our table but he still took our order. After our food delivered, I can't find anyone to refill water for us and nobody came to give us our check. I had to hunt down one of them to get our check. And, yes, I had to wait for another 15 min to get our check.

Visited here during restaurant week for dinner. Food was excellent - lots of tasty small plates. The Spanish fried chicken was amazing! There is an extensive wine list and their by-the-glass selections were good as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Atmosphere is a bit casual and cosy - good for date night.

We came here for my sister s birthday with my family. The restaurant is small and convenient. The lightings are dim at night. The service was nice and well-organized. We ordered 6 courses and everything we had was pretty good and well done. It was all delicious and leave the place with full tummy.

My wife and I had a very romantic evening, the service was excellent and the food was amazing to say the least each entree was tremendous, full of flavor and of course expertly prepared. We will be back again soon!

This location does not look like anything from my first time? Regardless it was way more quaint and adorable than my first experience.

We had 10 people and dine at the upstairs location with beautiful wine cellars that surrounds us and 2 mini balcony area that overlooks the diners from downstairs. Overall the decor was great.

The food:
We had 2 cheese plates and it was perfect during the wait for our tapa dishes.
We ordered pretty much everything on the menu since there were 10 of us and I have to say everything was good but not something where you would oohh and ahh over!
I just like the fact that there were plenty of different things to have a taste..I think by the last hanger steak that came out everyone was BEYOND STUFF!

Drinks:

My gf had a vacation drink with a mermaid like cup, it came with nuts and all these fancy like stuff! I believe that was probably the only excitement of the night.

One of the things that may be a bit of a bother that I highly suggest management to consider is to perhaps moving the table further away from the wine cellar- some of the girls had to get up not once, but twice so that people can grab wines from the cabinent behind us! This may be quite annoying if your in the middle of putting food in your mouth!

Another thing I notice was when our birthday girl was downstairs smoking the guy brought out the cake on the request of someone and we said the girl is not here yet..so when he brought it back it was a not very nice face! I mean we are paying you $30 for cake cutting you don't have to be such a grinch about it !

Overall the bill was about $74 per person plus tips and tax!

Daughter's birthday dinner. First time there. Just a wonderful experience. Hostess, bartenders, waitress and the kitchen all combined to make magic. We"re still talking about it on the way home. Very happy.

We were in a exclusive private party of 40 people. The food was very small portions and not enough frankly. Wine was good, but the main reason for the 1 star is that they kicked us out and threatened to call the police on us after we paid a $7000+ bill. The manager kicked out this private party stating we we're obnoxious and loud and disrespectful etc. This was a classy event hosted by Tom Leykis, a nationally syndicated radio host. The people, both men and women paid good money to be there and thank the "professor" in helping them reach their goals. It is a shame that the restaurant decided to pick on a group just because the general manager had a bone to pick with the host. Had it been communicated that something was off to the host or Gary Z, things would have been dealt with. So people were cheering a 800 FICO and how much they saved by using a tip. That's not a crime.

I was going to rent the room for a corporate event in January Now I won't. I'll go elsewhere. AOC you lost a valuable set of influential customers.

I've posted pictures because I am telling the truth. A few trolls are posting fake reviews but they weren't there and don't know what happened.

Oh my goodness - this place was amazing! All of the things we ordered were delicious - the focaccia, the pappardelle, the squash, the farro and rice, the long cooked kale, the potatoes... honestly, each dish impressed us! Would definitely return!

I like the wine bar It is a French wine bar the bar house is very nice and own their style A.O.C. is also a special name. The favoriate is outside of the bar I took some photos they are really charming pics very ancient and classic. That is why I want to recommend the bar. Another reason is close Lady M Cakes. Love that.

We just did the prix fixe takeout, and OMG! This is high-order cooking, as isGoin s tradition with AOC and now (sadly) closed Lucques. The panzanella salad under the Zuni chicken was sublime, the farmer s plate produced raves from our vegetarian, who uncharacteristically ate every bite (and of the fingerling potatoes with crema, quite sinful), the wild mushroom/polenta was delicious with the farro/black rice. And the desserts, to die. I was only allowed one bite of the chocolate torta, but, Best Ever! And the stout gingerbread with winter berry compote was rich, satisfying, powerful. And just about all of this can be ordered a la carte, which is great.

Solid food and service even after all these years. Not too many surprises, but consistent. Still doesn't have the charm that Orso had on the patio. It was quite chilly and most of the heaters were out, according to our waitress. But they lit the fire and that helped a lot.

The staff @ A.O.C. were vry nice,& attentive. Bf & I were there for his bday & gave us a complimentary dessert. The bartender listened to what we usually drink & made us something similar. Overall experience excellent

The evening started slowly with a variety of servers coming over to our table as if they were unsure who actually was handling our party. Things picked up nicely and the cocktails and food were fantastic. The only miss was their version of paella which we found to be a bit rich but that is of course just a matter of personal preference.

I was however bothered by the growing trend of surcharges to cover a living wage, kitchen staff or health insurance coverage. Not sure why those items aren t already covered by the owners of the restaurants. Why don t they raise prices as needed, do the right thing for their staff and stop the virtue signaling and guilt tripping? If you are a business owner who is doing the right thing, just increase your prices by the 3% and let your patrons know you are treating your team with respect and providing benefits. (BTW, it has nothing to do with the cost of the surcharge as we left our server a 25%+ tip on the total bill after taxes and the surcharge )

Great service, the food and drinks were good but not worth the money. The prices were a bit much for what you get and I've had much better drinks at several restaurants and bars that are much better for the same price.

Nearby was this place and I wanted to try it out. Food is simply something to die for. I was delighted to see how tidy it all was. There was a prompt and friendly waiter. Satisfactory experience, again to come.

Dinner there is phenomenal. Great building and atmosphere. I'll never forget the lobster salad with cornbread. Lunch is great as well and reasonable. One of the best turkey sandwiches for lunch. Great fresh bread for the sandwiches. Suzanne Goin is incredible. Great seasonal dishes that are delicate, and have definite California soul. Hits on all cylinders. Great staff too.
