This place is great! Love the atmosphere, the brunch was fantastic. I got the Spanish Fried Chicken and Cornflour Waffle! Ooooooh! It has prosciutto on top! Pure decadence swimming in syrup! Plus, to top it off, the coffee is very good and plentiful! What are you doing reading this?! Get a ride to here now!

I liked A.O.C. immediately. You walk into the bar area. Dark wood bar, long community table and regular tables in the bar area. The chairs were very comfortable. The dining room is light and airy. There is a fireplace for those chilly L.A. nights. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a French country house. There are steps to the left of the entry door that leads up to a wine cellar/dining room. We ate in this upstairs room. The walls are dark wood lined with shelves of wine surrounding the entire room. There are two balconies that overlook the downstairs dining room. This is a very private, cozy room that would easily hold 25 to 35 people (I am guessing). Our group had 16 people and there was plenty of room remaining. The food was really good. We started with their amazing marcona almonds, not sure what they did to them but they were so addicting! Then they brought out bacon wrapped dates stuffed with parmesan- we all appeared to lose our minds over these, they were soooo good and I am not a big date eating person! For the entrees our options were the moroccan chicken salad, vanilla bean french toast , roast turkey focaccia sandwich or duck confit hash. All 4 dishes were delicious, the portions were large and there was not a complaint amongst the group! The dessert platter was really yummy with butterscotch pot de creme, chocolat torta and chocolates. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for any and all occasions. From solo dining to group functions. This is a very cozy and comfortable place to hang out and have a drink and appetizers and/or to have good food.

My friends and I always enjoyed hanging out in this place to have some drinks and some foods. This place has lots of different kinds of wines that you will surely be amazed. I think in all the restaurants I have been through, this restaurant has the most number of wines and I think they have every wine in the world. We will for sure visit this place again.

Now in the old Orso space, A.O.C. has a fresh new look. Gorgeous patio and room for larger groups upstairs. Menu is still hit or miss, heavy on pork, and a bit overpriced. Best for large groups who are willing to share.

I was very disappointed when A.O.C. moved locations. The menu changed, prices increased, and the BYOB policy was replaced with a rather pricey wine list. The food is still delicious, but it pains me to pay double for what used to cost half the price.

Came here for a quiet, dinner. The space is large enough to fit large parties. But al the same time feels comfortable, intimate and cozy. There are 1950's crooners coming out of the speakers. The windows look out to Melrose ave. It's romantic.

It was my first time here on a Sunday night. The atmosphere is dimly lit but very cozy and romantic. We made reservations so seating was no problem. The service was amazing. But the food...OMG! I ordered the 8oz filet and it melted in my mouth. My boyfriend got the chicken and loved it. For sides we had the truffle mac n cheese, it was good but I've had better. However, the creamy spinach was a perfect blend between creamy but not overwhelming. Now the crushed potatoes, we smelled it as soon as they set it on the table and it may have been my favorite side. I read the reviews before I came so I may have to agree with Moni O. The managers did walk around greeting other tables while no managers welcomed my boyfriend and me. Now, the servers were awesome which is why they still get 5 stars from me.

I was really excited to try dinner here, living in Los Angeles food always looks amazing but is 8/10 times average-just like here.
We ordered the asparagus focaccia, the cherry and avocado salad, Spanish fried chicken and the lamb skewers. Out of all of this, the focaccia was probably my favorite, although it was nothing special. As for the salad, good but nowhere near the taste I expect from a place like this. I know, how good can a salad be right? It's just simple ingredients, but you can tell when something had low effort put into it.
As for the spicy chicken tenders, all I tasted was a strong spice that overpowered all the other dishes. Now for the lamb skewers, plain and simple, it was average at best. The cooked kale and assorted ingredients under the skewers were by far the highlight of this main plate. To pay $50 dollars for lamb and enjoy the Moroccan salad that came with it exponentially more is saying something.
Overall, wouldn't go back, nothing went wrong but nothing went as expected either. Given the ambiance, pleasant staff, and ok food I'd give this place 3 stars.

4.5 stars but im rounding up. The food and cocktails are excellent and the service is top notch. However, it is very expensive for what you get. Like 50 dollars for 4 (delicious) sausages or 15 bucksfor 3 (really really tasty) chicken tenders. If you go in prepared for this you'll enjoy it a lot more!

I was there with my party on Sunday, around 3:30pm. Lunch time. Charcuterie plate was very good, as were the olives. My AOC burger was perfectly medium rare, with a generous patty and wonderful flavor. My friends shared a mixed greens salad with chicken, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The sourdough bread is served cold and was so so. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Nice ambiance with a fireplace in the main dining room. The restaurant charges a 3.5% fee for employee health coverage. Make sure that the restaurant does not charge you tax on this, and remember this when you determine the tip.

The epitome of LA. Overpriced food that really isn't that good. Neat atmosphere but when you walk in and the waitress says "we're fully booked just wait for a while and something might come up", but you see a bunch of tables empty. We paid 100$ for 3 people with no appetizers or drinks. Servings weren't that big, and the food wasn't that good. Will not be eating here again. It just isn't worth the price.

Tucked away in a small lot in Silverlake is a nice Thai gem!
The ambiance and decor here are perfect for a date! The seats are set up for 2 people only so it's a bit of work if you have bigger groups just FYI as they would need to pull tables to combine together.
First off, if this is will be your first time here...
First off, if this is will be your first time here, you'll want to bring a friend or two, as you'll want to try a lot of things on the menu. Or maybe that's just me projecting my own gluttony. I mean foodiness.
Second, and probably most important: You're probably wondering what's good here. I mean, with food this popular, who cares about the service, anyway? We'll get to that later. Here's the rundown on what we had:
1.) Bacon-Wrappped Dates- Pretty darn good balance between the slight sweetness of the dates mixed with the savoriness of the bacon. The only downside was the tiny portion for the $8 we shelled out. We only got about 7 or 8 dates. I'm not very good at math, but I do believe that's a bit of a ripoff.
2.) Vanilla Bean French Toast w/Hazelnuts- I am not one to need much convincing to scarf down a heaping plate of french toast, but this disappeared before even I knew what had happened. Perfectly sweet and balanced with a hint of citrus that wasn't overpowering, and huge slices of soft, fluffy bread...er, toast, with a garnish of hazelnuts and and slices of what could have been caramelized pear or apple, for good measure. This is truly the breakfast of champions. And unlike the dates, the portion did not disappoint.
3.) Chicken & Waffle- What? You didn't think I was full yet, did you? Psh!! Anyway, this dish was amazing on so many levels. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, fried to a golden crisp on the outside, yet still tender and flavorful on the inside. The best part is it's more like small pieces of chicken tenders that help you bypass that whole battle of trying to tear off every last juicy morsel of meat from the bone like some angry animal. I've seen it before, and it ain't pretty. And the waffle it sits on is warm, fluffy, and already pre-soaked, (yet not drowning), in something to make it sweet. This is a guilty indulgence with an air of sophistication.
4.) Latte- I know, boring, right? But you know what? Considering, this isn't your local hipster-infused coffee shop, I was pleasantly surprised by how perfect this coffee was. It had the most delicious nutty flavor, with a perfect pairing of coffee-flavor & creaminess from the milk. So, I ordered two. You know, just to be sure the first wasn't a fluke. It wasn't.
And for you booze lovers out there, these guys have an alcohol menu that's like ten times bigger than their food menu. If you're also a fan of coffee, like my over-caffeinated self, then the Caffe Trieste Cocktail is for you. The only other drink I tried was a sparkling red Lambrusco wine that was a bit on the sweet side. It's a perfect wine to have for dessert.
What I found interesting was how cozy this place was. I honestly thought I'd walked into someone's elaborate dining room. And the outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy brunch on a warm, sunny day.
As to the service, in case you were interested: It's LA. We should all be used to it. The people who work here CAN be friendly, although don't always choose to be. However, the girl who greeted us at the door was pretty awesome, and our server was attentive, though not exactly happy to be there. But hey, on a Sunday morning, I wouldn't be, either. Who am I to judge?
Overall, great place to try at least once.

Ever since that food festival a few months ago, I could not get enough of the bacon-wrapped hot dogs. SO DELICIOUS!Especially when you drown your A.O.C in ketchup, mustard, and jalapenos! I can always feel the delicious pig entrails going straight to my thighs.

The seasonal corn and cilantro pizza had a delicious thin and crispy crust. With lime A.O.C. drizzled on top, this pie is one of the best in CA. Our A.O.C. Salad was fresh and A.O.C. with candy sweet cherry tomatoes and creamy goat cheese. A more generous portion of both was needed (we still had half a bowl of greens after we ate the fixings with the rest of the salad).

I found a finger nail in my Water. I have never been so disappointed in an establishment. They comped my dinner and gave me a fifty dollar gift card that I would never use but I was was 13 other people and this ruined the night for everyone.
The only explanation is that someone was in there kitchen clipping their nails near the food. This is totally disgusting. I threw up all of my dinner. Really disappointed was excited to go here, I wouldn't wish this on an enemy.

I am so sorry to give you guys 1 star because I love who you guys are and that's why my cousin and I chose to eat here.
We stopped in Friday night for dinner around 7pm. Wait time was 45 minutes but we decided to sit at the communal table which she openings. I ordered the Hanger Steak and my cousin the Scallops. She loved her dish. She couldn't be more elated. IIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii on the other hand was quite disappointed.
My first steak came out very very chard. I tried explaining this to Joe our waiter and he had to be told what chard meant. I thought I was being dramatic about how many times I had to explain what was wrong with the steak that a young lady next to me even had spoken up.
I shared my cousin's baby potatoes as we waited for my new dish and those were delectable. Second steak comes out and it was perfect! Juicy, boody and tender. Ariel why are you still not happy then? Because the crap was SALTIER THAN SPONGEBOB'S FOREHEAD. (have no clue what that means)
I even had the young lady next to me try it and asked her if she liked it. She said it was super salty before I even gave my input because I wanted an unbiased opinion.
Well long story short customer service sucked. Joe was sweet as a pea in a box but he was pulled every which way. Please get two servers for the communal table or at least a designated runner. Or don't give it to someone who can't handle stress and pressure. The lady's in the front as real sweet but they don't do much so as they should. And house rep was very attentive to our concerns.
The wine was Devine I'm sorry I don't remember what I had lol. But my 1 star stick. Sorry loves. Please do better.

However, ordered my burger medium and it was definitely well done. They comped the burger when I pointed this out which was very nice but service was still lacking. Extremely disappointed! This has been my favorite restaurant, however tonight I have been so disappointed. We came early and ended up parking outside the parking and just walked in. By the time we came back out, the back gate was closed. As we were walking down the stairs we watched the valet guy open the gate for a car. Yet when we came down, we asked if he could open the gate so we could walk out and he refused! Made us walk all the way around the block, just because he was mad that we did not valet! After a great dinner, he was so rude, which ruined the whole evening. I really hope no other customers have to encounter such terrible treatment after spending their money here.

Read about this as a top 10 LA wine destination thanks to its top SOMM Caroline Styne (she co-owns with chef Suzanne Goin). Great vibe in the dining room, bar and indoor/outdoor dining space. Clean decor and wise use of acoustic ceiling panels to keep the noise level reasonable. Service was great - helpful and attentive but not in your way. We went with their recommendations; tomato & mozzarella flat bread, wood oven clams, Brussel sprouts, Spanish fried chicken and sweet potatoes. All were really flavourful - excellent. Great wine list - don t be shy to ask for help. They had us at Mathiasson!

I visited Los Angeles with a group of friends recently and had a terrific first meal here at AOC. We came pretty much straight from LAX and we were all starving, and this place did not disappoint! We had made a reservation in advance but it was a random Thursday afternoon so I think we would have been fine without.
We had a really fun and friendly waiter who talked us all into ordering their drink of the day, a non alcoholic green juice made with green tea, cucumber, mint, and lime. Exorbitantly priced at $8 each but so good that all 7 of us sprang for one of our own. Most of the plates here are made to be shared, so we went ham while ordering and everyone was very satisfied at the end of the meal.
Spanish Fried Chicken: expertly fried, super crispy on the outside and well seasoned throughout. Definitely recommend.
Bacon wrapped dates - you can't really go wrong with these, perfect sweet/savory balance.
Two foccacias - one with sopressata, mozz, and jalapeno and one with broccoli rabe, burrata, and honey. The salami one was nice, good bit of heat but nothing too special. The broccoli one was spectacular, it paired really nice with the burrata and I'd definitely recommend this one over the other.
Morrocan chicken salad - the only miss for me, the chicken was a little tough and it was too heavily spiced with cumin that made it harsh tasting. There were a ton of raisins in it as well - one of my friends really enjoyed though, so maybe it's just me?
Charcuterie board - SO GOOD, definitely get this if you like charcuterie. Nice sampler of cheese, hard meats, pate, pickled veg, and a giant hunk of grilled bread (they'll bring more if you ask!).
Pasta with seafood and white beans - really yummy! I'm always skeptical of beans in pasta but here it worked really well with the seafood and tomato based sauce.
The vibe here is super cute, you almost feel like you're dining outside even though the space is covered. Great food, great service, and all in all a fun place to brunch with friends!
