Fab museum. Fantastic exhibitions on a regular basis. Sadly no tube nearby.

Expensive to see exhibitions, otherwise lovely to visit.
Beautiful building, really interesting exhibitions and amazing collection of Turner's paintings. Definitely worth a trip if you live in london or are on holiday.
Great art! Always something that surprises and astonishes. PS: let the youngsters in!!
Fabulous collection of modern art and the largest collection of Turner's work. Well worth a visit followed by a glass of wine in the lovely restaurant.
Still has the power to surprise. For its size, more to see than the Tate modern
Not really an 'arty' type but really enjoyed the Don McCullin exhibition. Had a wander some of the other halls and I guess you could spend all day there if that's what you're in to. 2 to 3 hours would suffice for a casual visit though. Cafe good but a little pricey and very busy.
Great paintings and well-informed staff, will visit definitely a third time
Really wonderful exhibition by Don McCullin. Thought provoking.
Wonderful new exhibition on Impressionists in London to visit!
A must-see in London. The rooms are arranged by decades so you can time-travel through 1840s, 1850s, 1860s and so.
Aside, you can't miss the Turner Collection. Just for this, it's worth visiting this museum.
Visited photographic exhibition there, which was interesting but really busy, as expected. Food on offer from the cafe was quite good and the fish and chips rather good value for money.
Great place to visit. Nice restaurant in the basement.
Amazing space but the Van Gogh expo was dark and not perfect for so many visitors. An great place for art lovers
This is one of your "must" visits in London!
An amazing collection of art with lots of events in one of the most beautiful buildings in London.
You need plenty of time to discover and enjoy all the art treasures!
This is a great choice for bigger children too!
I personally believe that art is extremely mind relaxing from everyday stress and monotony, and this place will always be a great experience!
Highly recommend!
I had planned to spend a couple of hours here but actually spent over 6! What a wonderful gallery to lose yourself. I really enjoyed the guided tour of the Turner exhibit. Our guide was both knowledgeable and engaging. Thank you.
Tate Britain, a short bus ride (no. 87) from the top of Whitehall/Trafalgar Square, deals with the history of British art covering the last five centuries. Worth a visit. Depending on exhibition subjects, it can also cover other country's art, such as "Aftermath: Art in the Wake of World War One", which shows art by British, French and German artists.
Beautiful, low-key gallery with classics and modern works. Definitely worth a visit!
Love Tate Britain, especially after the recent renovation that reasserts its grandeur. I've seen some great exhibitions here over the years and the latest shows dont disappoint!
We visited the free exhibition as the gallery wasn't the main objective of our trip. The British galleries are stunningly laid out allowing good viewing of even the very largest pictures.
Superb collection, nice atmosphere during Tate Lates.
Superlative collection of British art, somewhat upstaged now by Tate Modern but still worth a day's visit. A great space that has been sensitively extended over the years. However, the 20th century collection on display is somewhat disappointing - presumably because the major YBA works, for eg, are over at Tate Modern. Great Henry Moore collection.
One of the best galleries of all the ones in London. More classic displays tate moderna and frankly less touristy, so a bit quieter..
One of my favourite museums... What amazing combination of modern and classical art.
Probably my main destination for art while I lived in London and I also visit often when I travel there. Plenty to see but not too much, most of it's free, plus very good, though paid-entry, exhibitions.
Another of London's treasures, the art work is spectacular which is more than I can say for the recent turner prize... but the comments were amusing.
Very nice museum and FREE
There are beautiful paintings from different eras and some current "works"
The best gallery in London and go as often as possible!
Best view of British Art in the country. Soaking with talent.
Fabulous art in a fabulous gallery. One of my favourite galleries.
Superb collections of paintings and sculpture in beautiful galleries.
Before Tate Modern we had the Tate. Always worth a visit. Without the Modern's crowds.
The Van Gogh exhibition itself was amazing, well laid out, with some wonderful paintings. However, my visit was spoilt by many selfish people taking photos of the paintings on their mobile phones.
My view was constantly interrupted by people leaning as close as possible to the painting taking close ups, selfies, flashes reflecting on the picture, clicking noises etc.
Why does Tate Britain allow this? if visitors want a record of their visit then buy a book from the gift shop, the photos are bound to be of better quality.
Fantastic building built for art. Informative talks by volunteers most hours. Quiet.
Having Don McCullin and Burne-Jones on a joint bill was a quirky, yet inspired, choice! Viva Quirk...Viva Inspiration!
Outstanding, a recomendation if you are interested in art history.
Tate Britain has a nice art collection. Most contemporary art in museums just confuse me, but I thought the collection here is impressive
This had some amazing art inside. Enjoyed the trip.
Went to see the Hockney exhibition, enjoyed it very much. A great asset to the city.
Excellent place, enjoyed two great free tours, plus a pleasant lunch afterwards.
It is an incredible and huge site, if you like painting and art, I recommend you visit it! Here you can find all kinds of art, from Gothic to Modernism. There are also great painters in the history of art, such as Turner. In addition, the rooms are divided by years, and you have a map, so it is very easy to be guided. Regards!
Lovely visit to the Impressionists exhibition. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Lots of amazing pieces of British art from the 16th century to contemporary artists. Great location as well for a walk around Westminster.
A gallery that you should include in your London tour
If someone considers himself to be in love with real art, and has not yet seen Turner in Tate Britain - I highly recommend visiting. Your presentation will change .. And if you were already there already - you yourself know that I'm right .. Give yourself a touch to the beyond ..
Great Museum and exhibitions. Tickets rather expensive as is the food.
It was wonderful. The paintings were grouped and displayed perfectly and transcended different eras.
I only wish they had more chairs or benches to rest the legs a bit.
Free gallery. Some amazing art and follow the guide on the floor for a description of each period of art. Not as happening as the Tate modern but an excellent gallery none the less. Short walk from Pimlico station.
Visited the EY Van Gogh and Britain exhibition. Excellent exhibition. Very well curated and interesting. Well worth a visit.
Free, strong collection of British art, especially comprehensive of Turner
Great Burne Jones show, lovely to see the Perseus series finally, the stunning early drawings and two of the King Arthur tapestries
I recently visited Tate Britain on a Sunday afternoon. It is a really good place to see British art from 1500 to the present day. There are different exhibitions held and you can also go into the section on Van Gogh which recently opened.
I really enjoyed the variety of the museum and there is a good amount of sections to see. I spent about 2 hours here but could spent most of the day.
It is really smart from outside and a good opportunity for a photograph outside it.
I recommend Tate Britain for anyone who is interested in British Art.
Great variety of modern and traditional work on show.
Great exhibition ( Don McCullum ) , well worth a visit at any time
It's a huge place. The exhibition I went to see was wonderful. Cafe and restaurant good.
In my opinion significantly more interesting than Tate Modern. Large exhibition focusing on 19th century British painters. Relatively few people so that one can actually enjoy the paintings.
Beautiful Van Gogh exhibition. Very interesting comparisons with his inspirers and his "inspirations" In short theexpo is very didactic and does not leave indifferent
Open one's mind and vist this Art Gallery! From traditional to modern art.
